Sears deceiving customers, promised rebate and not honoring it
I purchased a Kenmore refrigerator via Sears.com. I called in and place my order by phone and I was told that I was eligible for 10% cash back and free delivery rebate. After I got the refrigerator and tried to file my rebate, I was told that I wasn't eligible for delivery rebate of $65. I talked to the Manager (Mike and Andrea), both of them refusing to honor what their sales person promised.
If anybody has experienced the same thing, we should all file a lawsuit against Sears, because their business practice is deceiving. They are promising customers rebates that they are refusing to honor. Once your appliances is delivered, you don't have any other choice but to pay for delivery. So Sears promised us, free delivery after rebates, then when you tried to file your rebate, they say that we aren't eligible. Even if we returned the appliances, we are still have to pay for delivery. So even though we are told that we are eligible for rebate when we placed the order, we won't eligible once the appliance is delivered.
I called the customer service and they didn't help at all. It looked as if they are supporting their staff to deceive customer in purpose. If they realized that their staff made a mistake, they should take full responsibility. Since they are refusing to take responsibility, I am under the impression that that's the way their conduct their business. Deceiving customers by offering rebate that they will not honor once you paid for your purchase.
I think that we should not let Sears do whatever they want, but don't know how to do that. If we have enough customers that have been ripped off or deceived by Sears, we could file a class action law suit, making sure that Sears will not deceive customer again in the future.
