Sears - Kenmore Refrigerator Review

I purchased a refrigerator and paid for delivery. The door was to be changed to open in the opposite direction. Delivery personnel were unprofessional and upset about having to change the door, one man stating "we're really not into doing this". The job was hurried and the door would not close properly. When I complained to Sears, the same two individuals were sent to do the repair. I turned them away and ordered another refrigerator, explaining the situation to the Reno, NV store manager. The same two individuals delivered the second one. Again I contacted the store manager, asking that someone other than the same two individuals change the door to open in the direction I specified at the time of my purchase. I was told that Sears contracts with a local company for delivery of their large appliances, therefore they are not responsible and could not help me. I never did get the door changed to open in the correct direction. I know why Sears is going out of business. I am in my 60's and have always purchased Sears appliances. Never again! Sears customer service is a thing of the past. I can spend my dollars anywhere and I guarantee it won't be at Sears.

I cannot fathom why consumers fail to check the store's return policy when they buy something. Then complain when the store won't bend the rules just for them.

Sears review in Brookfield, Wisconsin: Purchased Washer and Dryer

Purchased a washer and dryer from Sears, dryer not working service was called did not show up until 10 days after deliver. Service technician came with no parts, had to order with no hard date of parts delivery or when the tech would come out to install. Called Sears customer service, an oxymoron to say the least. Customer service representatives are from India, read from a script and give you the run around, would never give a solid date when the appliance would get fixed. Called their outsourced service department, eastern European representatives, once again given a run around after 50 minutes on the phone. Called store that I bought the appliances from to come and pick up, went to Best Buy purchased washer and dryer. To all companies failing like Sears, do not outsource your customer service to foreigners, Americans don't like that, as they are rude and not customer service qualified. Sears was a once great corporation is now reduced to a flailing outsourced second rate store. It will be bankrupt in a year or so do to poor management and outsourcing;.

They are horrible, they marked my credit report as late because my bank made them pay me back 1 payment and sears claims they never received 2 payments. They also claimed they never received the fax my bank sent over to them proving my case. I had sears and my bank on conference and my bank faxed over the requested information while we were all on the phone!! WhAt!!!! sears refuses to take the late payment off of my report. This is how they treat a good paying customer. I was so mad, I paid my entire bill off of $1500 bucks just to be done with them. I will never set foot in Sears again, because this is not the only foolishness I have had to deal with coming from them. Close Sears...close, people will be be much better off because you are horrible

Sears review: Pro series glass top failure

I purchased a Kenmore Pro series electric stove, model 79092583510 in November of 2015, and it failed in January of 2017. I am widowed and I don't cook very often. In the last 14 months, I have been away from home over 3 months, so the stove has not had much use. While using the front left turbo burner, which was set on medium heat, for about fifteen minutes, the glass top melted and cracked. It also destroyed the pot I was using. I spoke with someone at Sears who said he would have someone call me. After waiting two days without getting a call back, I had an online chat with someone and was told that because I had not purchased the extended warranty, I was out of luck. I feel this is a manufacturing failure, and Sears should stand behind it.

Sears review: Spot Messenger - Cancelling Subscription Renewal

While the Spot Messenger has it's uses, in my case (I'm a pilot) I decided to rely on my EPIRB that can pinpoint my location if activated so I decided to let the subscription lapse. I tried online to cancel the automatic subscription renewal of my Spot Messenger, but for some reason it would not allow it. I then tried to delete my credit card, but it would not allow that either, although it would permit a new or updated credit card. Because my card was due to expire a few months before the renewal was due, I figured it would not transact the payment on an out of date card. In spite of that, the transaction was processed and my account debited. I've now had to cancel and re-issue my MasterCard in order to have the transaction reversed.

Sears review: Poor quality tools and customer service!

Sears absolutely has the worst customer service of any internet or brick and mortar store I have ever dealt with. No wonder Sears is closing stores all across the country and sold off their Craftsman tool line. Craftsman tools are now of poor quality are way overpriced. The sales people in the Sear’s store I dealt with had absolutely no idea as to how to treat a long time customer of over 50 years, nor how to deal with any type of problem. The three different people I spoke with all had different ideas as to how to cope with my issue with a defective Craftsman leaf blower. I waited over 30 minutes for someone to step up and make the appropriate decision. The leaf blower was only one and a half months old. I ended up leaving the leaf blower, without any positive outcome, vowing never to return to another Sears store, ever!

Received Damage Appliance Sears Refuses to Exchange Item

We are completely remodeling our kitchen. Our house has been gutted for 7 weeks. We ordered our Whirlpool dishwasher from Sears. It was delivered on January 6th; our contractor began installing the appliances today, January 28th. When the dishwasher was taken out of the box it looked as if it fell off a truck and rolled down a hill. It is damaged on all four sides. I called the toll free customer service line and was told that they would not exchange it because they only take returns or exchanges within 72 hours of delivery. I ordered this item on-line and no where on my receipt does it mention this. I asked to speak to a supervisor who proceeded to tell me I was negligent for not opening the box immediately. What? Excuse me? What happened to customer service? His name was Travis employee#878790. Travis doesn't have a last name; he said he was from South East Asia. All I want is to exchange this dishwasher. It was $550 and we can not use it. I doubt it will even work. We have NEVER had an issue with Sears. I can't believe they would actually allow their customers to be treated like this and be stuck with an expensive useless item.

New sears frig doesn't work. customer service sucks

i bought a new kenmore refrig because my old 1981 kenmore had died. loved it. new one did not work from day 1. had external damage. was missing parts. took 8 phone calls but could not get missing parts. got "parts were shipped. should have been there." etc. customer service says whatever is necessary to get customer off of phone. sears actually delivered a new one that also did not work and was missing parts. sears delivered new one 2 weeks after scheduled delivery date. sears told me the frig was my problem because a month had elapsed while they were delaying delivery of the new frig. now i am told that i need to buy a extended warranty contract. that way, if the repair man fails to repair it after 3 visits, i can get a new one. not true under warranty that comes with frig. soo, now i have to hope that the frig can be repaired. i think that the frig is of a defective design. it is so new, that no one can figure out the manufacturer by the first 3 numbers of the models, including the repair man. i think that sears is going out of business because of inferior products and really bad customer service
