Sears - Worst Customer Service

After several conversations with the corporate and local customer service representatives, I can say Sears has the worst customer service. Considering I had my refrigerator repaired twice for the same issue, I decide to buy a new refrigerator. I called on Sunday to schedule the appointment for Wednesday. The representative informed me I would receive the night before, between 6pm-9pm, notifying me of my two-hour window. Needless to say, I never received a called. On Tuesday night I called the delivery department at 1-800-732-7747. Per the automatic system, my delivery time was scheduled for 1045am-1245pm. After which the prompt system directed me to a representative. At that time, she told me that due to my location in reference to the warehouse I had to keep the appointment. Maybe I could have accepted the fact that the appointment was made without my consent if I had not previous been yelled at, hung up on and disrespected at by another representative in the past. In the end, I had to reschedule again. The representative proceeded to give a scripted Unapologetic Apology. I will never buy another appliance from Sears again.

Sears - 6 week old microwave stopped working. Worst customer service ever!

After spending more on a protection agreement than the actual cost of a microwave, the 6 week old microwave would no longer heat. Did the listed checks in the manual before calling service. Called service, and woman asked me if I had it in "demo mode". "What? What is demo mode?" She very haughtily said "you didn't read your manual, did you?!" " I most certainly did! There is nothing about any demo mode!" After looking up my model's user manual, she stated that "oh yours doesn't have a demo mode..." No apology for the snottiness. Said someone would come out in 10 days (after Thanksgiving). I told her that was unacceptable for a brand new appliance. She gave me a local MD number to call. Called, got put on music hold for 15 min. Hung up, called back, and the number would no longer ring! Found a different number to call on an old Sears bill. explained to the girl that everything worked on the microwave except it wouldn't heat. She asked if I checked the circuit breaker - it was probably that. I said yes I did, but the turntable and keyboard would not work if the circuit had tripped. Meanwhile, she was having another side conversation with a coworker, and not listening to me. Asked me 3 times if it was a microwave or stove!! Asked me twice what was the problem with it?! Suddenly, she said a service tech will be out to our house on Tuesday (2 days before Thanksgiving). Great! I thought I'm finally getting it fixed before the thanksgiving company. Tuesday comes, extremely nice technician (Ben - the only one in the company with great customer service skills) calls to tell me he was on the way, and just to verify " this is a preventative maintenance check, right?" NO! It's not working!! Only 6 weeks old! He very kindly told me that he had been given incorrect information from customer service (imagine that!), and asked me to describe the problem. He very kindly said that he thought he knew what might be the problem, but didn't have the parts on his truck, so he would find a different service tech who had the parts to come out. Called me back in 5 minutes to tell me The name of the tech who was on his way in one hour. The tech came and tried to fix it, after calling a number to get help several times. Took the entire thing apart, found it was a bad "magnatron ?" Didn't have the part, ordered it, said it would take 5 business days to arrive at my house, and scheduled me for "the earliest date" 3 weeks away!!! I'm so mad!!! I want a new microwave, not a fixed lemon. I will NEVER buy ANY appliance from Sears again. What a shame - you could always depend on Sears in decades past, but not anymore!

Sears - Lack of catalogues

I would like to know why you don't receive catalogues unless you live in a town. if you live in a rural area (which a lot of people do) you do not get a catalogue, you use to be able to pick one up are sears local depot, but they do not receive them anymore. IT IS HARD TO ORDER FROM CATALOGUE IF YOU HAVE NO CATALOGUE OR COMPUTER (WHICH NOT ALL PEOPLE HAVE) very disappointed as are many people who use to order regulate from catalogue. the people who live in rural areas in both countries are very disappointed

But you have a computer to rant about this complaint? Not many stores have catalogs and to my knowlege, haven't for a few years now. Welcome to the future, sunshine!

Sears - Sear you have lost a customer for GOOD

Do not use their carpet service. On the day of the service they changed the service window to 2 hours earlier and would not honor the original window they gave me. When the guys arrived 45 minutes late, he tried to sell me Stain protection at $20 per room. I said no. Then he tried to sell me a deodorizer service. I refused. Finally he said to get the machine to the second floor he has to charge $50 extra because the machine is heavy. At this point I gave up and told them to leave. Sears customer service was of no help. I am never shopping at Sears again.

We purchased a king size bed that was not delivered as promised. My husband took the day off to wait for the delivery, only to get a call at 5:00 pm saying they vould not delivering it that day. He set another delivery date. It didn't work out, nor could they deliver the bed on a Saturday when most people are off. Did I mention that we needed the bed for that very weekend? I did to the Sears salesman when I was purchasing it. But he assured us it would be delived prior the weekend when it was needed. On Monday I called sears and told them that I was canceling the order, that I was no longer was willing to stay home from work to wait on a delivey. She told me that I would have yo come into the store in order to do that. I told her that no I would not be traveling 30 miles out of my way that she had all the identifying information to cancel it, to not deliver it or bill me. Well so far they , Why not Lease it, has taken $333.00 of mine, when I have no merchandise. It does state in the contract that you have 60 days to cancel. I canceled my bank card so they could not make anymore withrawals on my account. Now they are calling me and harassing me, saying that I am behind on my payments. Oh, did I mention that I called Why Not Lease It, where I spent at least 1 hour on the phone with a representative who assured me that she would personally call sears, get varification from them that I did not recieve the merchandise and then send me my refund. Well so far they call me, I call them and I get absolutely no where! One man I spoke with said, you have to do this and you have to do that. OMG...I told him that due to me being the consumer, that he works for me and he was going to either help or not and if he couldn't then maybe his supervisor could. Guess what she couldn't help me either. None of the people at Why Not Lease It have a clue. My last straw is I am filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. So if anyone is reading this, please, please save yourself the hazel and money. Don't buy from Sears and don't go through Why Not Lease it. Its no wonder Sears and K-Mart are goi g out of business.

I found some boots that were on sale as that specific store i was going to, showed up couldnt find the boots so i asked for help. They could not find the ones that they showed at that store, they told me i was out of luck. But i think thats called false advertising, you would think they would of helped me out being a former employee. Needless to say, i will never purchase anything from sears again.

Well at 8:43 the website noted that my appliances had been delivered. Strange, I STILL DON"T HAVE THEM.

I called and got the same "Thanks for your patience, you are delivery 8 of 9 and they are on the way now, haven't they called you?". I lost it and asked for a supervisor who said that in fact they were closed for the day (now after 9pm) and that his notes showed that I my appointment was rescheduled. Again, no one called me.

Well, it's Monday and it still shows my appliances as delivered. Called at 9 and was told "someone will be contacting you".

Guess again...

Called again at almost noon and am told that I am scheduled for delivery on Friday.

NO CALL and no indication of the time, no compassion for the frustration of no laundry before the holidays, no value for their loyal customers. None what so ever.

Great experience at the local store, although a little slow but the delivery of my new washer and dryer is a nightmare. My "window" was 12:15 to 2:15. I called at 2:30 and was told they would be there at 3:27....as if! I called at 5:30 and was told I was stop 9 and they were on stop 6. It's now 7:20 and they are on stop 8. Never got a call or an update....nothing. However, they appreciate my patience. Well guess what, I'm out of patience, I'd prefer someone who had English as their primary language who wasn't reading from a script. I've wasted my entire day waiting on you and all I want to do is return the appliances and go to Lowes or Home Depot where the prices are equal or less and they keep their appointments.

Sears Service Didn't Show So We're Moved to the End of the ***???

Scheduled Sears service for our garbage disposer two weeks ago for yesterday between 1-5 pm. Nothing at 6 pm . Called and told it has changed to 8:45-10:45 PM! Tech finally called 8:30 pm and said too late. We'd have to reschedule. Rescheduler said next available is one & one-half weeks out. Sorry, but YOU missed the appointment and you should not put us at the back of the ***. We should be FIRST on the NEXT day. Sear's service scheduling practices are horrible. They have no concept of good (or even satisfactory) customer service. We've done our last business with this sorry company.

Sears - Refrigerator delivery botched beyond compair

My Sears Kenmore Elite refrigerator was NOT delivered today even though I told them in advance about the 2nd floor kitchen and paid for Saturday delivery. The delivery people came, said they needed four guys, and left. They tried to put the refrigerator in my garage, and TRIED to get me to sign an acceptance form even though I didn't let them leave it in the garage. They were supposed to call right back to let me know when the 4 man team would arrive. No call back was ever received. I spent two hours on the phone trying to arrange something but alas, Sears does not do 4 man deliveries except for first thing in the morning next Tuesday when I will be at work. If I had let them leave it in the garage and reversed the credit card transaction they would have been here within an hour. I'm thinking of cancelling the entire order. Sad, Sears used to be a good company that was concerned with customer satisfaction. Crystal, a service person with the delivery team, employee ID 818610 does not know who her supervisor is! I don't believe it for a minute.
