Sears review: Online purchase.

purchased boots as a gift directly from Sears website. the boots coast 19.99 then cost me another 9.99 to have them delivered. Boots did not fir and now Sears is saying I can not return them in the store because they came from a outside affiliate. What?? Never heard of 8088shoes. Sears took my credit card...Sears should refund my money! I was told by some random guy that I have to ship the boots back at my expense?? That is nuts I paid 19.99 for the boots, 9.99 to get them shipped, and now they want another 9.99 to ship them back. That is 40 bucks for a 20$ pair of boots that don't fit. If sears is selling the item on their website they need to take responsibility for all products. No wonder Sears is going out of business

It says on the website who is selling the merchandise. Gotta try reading.

I purchased a washer and dryer from Sears.  I had to wait three weeks before delivery.  On the date of delivery I was the first customer.  The delivery team was a contracted company.  Two men, the youngest was very helpful, but the eldest was extremely lazy.  The lazy...

Set up repair appt on Oct 22nd which was scheduled for Nov. 25th; no Saturday appts. Received email and phone confirmations about my 8am-noon time slot. Waited and checked in several times before 10am on Nov. 25th, each time my appt. was confirmed. At 10:30am, the estimated time of arrival for repair tech was between 10:45 & 12:45pm. At 12:40pm, received call telling me a tech called out sick and my appt. needed to be rescheduled. I had to take a vacation day at my job for the Nov. 25th appt., still no Saturday appts even after all that. If only PC Richards was up in Orange County, NY. I've been a loyal Sears customer for over 20 years, not anymore. I'm also filing a complaint with Dept. Of Consumer Affairs & NYS Better Business Bureau. Also Yelp will be hearing from me about the disgusting customer service I received from Sears. No wonder they are not the store they once were, they should just go out business.

I purchased a over the stove microwave from Sears only because we had some points that reduced the price by $25 bucks, making it less expensive than the competition. Bought it on Black Friday 11-25-16. It's the worst $25 bucks I've ever saved! First, won't be delivered and installed until Jan 2, 2017. Second, can't make a reservation for a specific 4 hour period on that day, a Monday. I work Monday, so I will loose a whole day of work. Third, if Monday is no good they offered to put me on a "come if they can" basis for Thursday (also a work day for me), which if they don't have time, they will come the following Monday. Fourth, the added cost of installation and removal/disposal of old microwave, plus a 3 year service contract, is $50 more than the oven costs itself. Fifth, the old microwave ( a Kenmore from Sears) died right after its original 3 year service contract expired. I'm 59 years old and grew up with Sears, so did my folks. Sears was a highly respected company. Well not any more! I'm sorry for the employees, but the writing is on the wall. Sears should die, and the name should become an discriptor for the bad, the insufferable, those that knowingly treat you awful, take advantage of you, and cheat you of your hard earned money. Signed, "I should of known better"

Sears STILL doesn't get it

I am eagerly looking forward to the day that Sears files for Chapter 11. I am pretty sure it's going to be in the next 12 months (before the end of 2017). In layman's term, "going out of business". The reason is simple. The same customer service failure keeps happening, and it is getting worse. People are getting more and more pissed off (and so they deserve as they went against my advice of boycotting Sears). When I got my washer/dryer from Sears, oh, how sweet the sales lady was and how prompt the delivery folks were. Yup, that was the end of my positive experience with Sears. When my LG washer started leaking water after 6 months or so, I called in for the warranty service. It starts with the infamous "we give you the window of arrival (1PM-5PM) for the technicians". This gets me to sit around my house while taking time off from work after talking to my manager. Of course, then they call me at 4:50PM to tell me that... well, we are not going to make it... well just because, no reason (was never given a reason for the tardy). hahahaha. It's funny now, but it wasn't so funny then. This happened 6 or 7 times. I can't remember exactly though. You know, after 3, you begin to lose count. This is why ALL of my coworkers know my story with Sears. Good marketing for them, since I work at a large corporation. Actually, I was just tempted to write my long and LONG story of what all went down for the next 5 months (yeah, not kidding, FIVE MONTHS after that first call), but just for brevity, I will say that the experience was a mix of total incompetency and the attitude of "I don't give a {{redacted}}". I don't understand how this attitude across the board is acceptable in any corporation that wants to sell stuff to customers and encourage them to come back. During my Sears experience, I must have interacted with at least 30 people. They all had this same attitude. Save yourself the trouble and the resulting bitterness of dealing with this soon-to-fail company. The company is doing so poorly that no one wants to lend them money to continue doing business. As a result, the CEO's hedge fund is "lending" them money. I can't wait to see the face of that CEO when the company goes down and his hedge fund goes down with it (and let me tell you, this WILL happen. Just a matter of when). Good luck getting services after they file for bankruptcy. I can't imagine what that would be like since when I had my Sears experience, they were still doing OK financially. My experience with Sears may have seemed inconsequential, but I knew at that moment that it was actually a perfectly befitting microcosm of the way Sears was run as a company. Avoid this place like a plague!

Sears review: Delivery was abruptly canceled and postponed for another 2 weeks

Update by user Mar 17, 2017

UPDATE: Delivery of a new washer and dryer took multiple calls and 2 more store visits. I did receive a new washer and dryer, but had to pick them up at the store.

I was able to get these 2 weeks after the original set was scheduled to be delivered. I am writing this update about 4 months after the original complaint.

The store appliance manager was helpful in the final return/new purchase and I received a discount.

I am very thankful for the items I have. However, considering the challenges I encountered while purchasing, I will not likely buy home appliances at Sears again.

Original review posted by user Nov 26, 2016

Hello, I purchased a washer and dryer at a Sears store in Torrance, California on Sunday, November 13, 2016. When purchasing, I was told that delivery could not take place until today, Saturday, November 26, 2016. I was not happy that it would take 2 weeks to deliver these items, but I was guaranteed that these items would be delivered on time. I agreed to the purchase. Last night, Friday, November 25, 2016, I received a phone call to confirm the delivery for today between 1 and 3pm. I eagerly awaited my delivery and this morning at 10:45am (Sat, Nov 26, 2016), I received a phone call from a Sears corporate office representative from Texas that explained to me that the washer and dryer that I ordered two weeks ago, would not be delivered until maybe December 9. I asked if there were other options and this representative said that I could cancel the order. I am appalled. I just spent $1400 on merchandise that was promised to be delivered today. I would happily exchange my purchase for another washer and dryer that could be delivered today and she told me that she did not have access to any of that information. She gave me a phone number to call and said that until I decided to cancel my order and receive a refund, she was going to change the delivery time on my online order. I did not agree to this but she said she could not help me further. I contacted three phone numbers (the one she offered and two others that I found online) and was sent to a Sears call center in Manilla, Philippines each time. One representative, Emily (Ref ID# 986786) told me that the best she could do was offer that a "specialist" call me in the next 72 hours. What?! This is insane. The other representative I spoke with there told me that he too could not help me and said he would transfer me to the store that I purchased for in Torrance, California. When transferred, I was sent to a voicemail that was full and consequently hung up on. I am at this point, beyond furious. I need a washer and dryer now. I am willing to pay more (although I think I should be given an easy exchange option for comparable merchandise) and just want to know what washer and dryer bundle is available now in my area. No one that I have spoken with has helped me and I am exhausted. I am going on 1 hour of waiting for a representative to call me and I have a gut feeling that this will spill into a multiple-day, if not weeks-long, waiting process. I AM PISSED.

Sears - Delivery Service Review

*** Sears! A while ago we got a dishwasher -big piece of *** it was, and the sub-contracted *** didn't install it properly! Three days ago I bought a stove from them too. Took the day off work for the install. The *** didn't show! Or call! . . .until two hours after they were supposed to be here, and said that it's "out of stock"! So I re-ordered and it was set for a delivery between 2pm and 4pm today. The *** called at 7:08AM to ask us if we're expecting a delivery. . . .when I asked them why call so *** early? the self-loathing arrogant cunty dolt with a *** job got all pissy and said, "well, we godda make sure you home, sir". *** Sears. Not a treble-digit I.Q. to be *** found within a million miles of that *** company.
