Purchased washers dryer combo for new laundry room designed for ease and efficiency while caring for elderly. It has been a devastating experience which has cost time, money and humiliation when attempting to work with Sears on resolve. It was not shared with us that many computers use this stacked new model so tech suggested placing of items, soap, ... early this year it became even more difficult when heath issues for both of us stopped my calling and noting the deficiencies. Yes a laundry mat was easier so they send $50 check which I never cashed. Our water bill never was so high! The clothes came out tangled and wrinkled to where you HAD to put in dryer... our Maytag in basement does a better job all around. We cannot go downstairs so a bedroom was made into laundry upstairs and we tried to minimize space, so the smallest stackable. My first year of ownership has expired so its the laundromat. You had to have 4 visits from techs first year to really get service.

Sears - Eyeglasses Review from Vandergrift, Pennsylvania

Purchased two pair of eye glasses at Sears optical in Greensburg, PA. The distance prescription was completely wrong and the glasses were replaced. Thumbs up for that pair. Reading glasses were also found to be unwearable but they were not so accommodating. The warranty period was 90 days and I was within this by 3 days. But the manager of the optical department, Tracey, was the absolute rudest, most condescending person I have ever dealt with. I walked away without getting my eyeglass problem resolved to eliminate any additional ridicule from this woman. How she became a department manager is a mystery. They must have been desperate to fill the position. Needless to say I will never deal with(or recommend) them again. So I am out hundreds of dollars and stuck with glasses I cannot use.

I hate to tell you this, but the glasses you spent "hundreds of dollars" on consist of, basically dollar store frames enclosing lenses which can be made for a couple of dollars. For this you spend alot of money purchasing eyeglasses from places like Sears.

If you are unable to wear the cheap dollar store eyeglasses for reading which come in many different strengths and the same for distance then buy your glasses at a place like---dare I say it?---Walmart. They are among the cheapest and most reliable places to do this. You can spend alot of money on glasses but the largest part of any eyeglasses cost is for the frame---extremely profitable to the company selling them---I need eyeglasses for both reading and distance, tho I really can get by well with none for distance. I shop the dollar stores for the strengths I need for both and pay particular attention to the frames.

The metal frames are best and hold up well.

I stock up as I see them in stores as they change their inventory often. Good luck.

Fridges used to last 20 years. They don't anymore.

The demand for cheaper prices has led to lower quality construction. No store or manufacturer is going to do anything for you 5 years after purchase.

1st Tech came August 30th Dx problem wrong. 2nd tech came on August 31st Dx prob. Ordered part and set apt for September 3 to repair. Tech was a no show! Waited again for 3rd tech to come on September 7 replaced part and the fridge still didn't work! Called back they said tech would come after last call around 6 pm. Never showed again!! Called back that night they said the would setup a emergency apt for the 8th they never came!!! Call placed to customer Solutions was on hold for one hour then they hung up on me. Called back they said I have an appointment for the ninth between eight and 12! I have been without a refrigerator for two weeks now, my family and I have been living out of a cooler. This is totally unacceptable, terrible service. Very frustrating! They say they have customer solutions program to help customers but into weeks no one has help me! Oh and by the way my refrigerator is only five years old and cost $2000

Sears Lawn Mower Repair Review

Lawn mower has been broke down for almost 2 months. Technician has been here twice working on it and canceled once and still not fixed. I've missed 3 days of work fixing to be 4, have to pay someone to cut my grass, fixing to be 4th time. I ordered a washer and dryer on August 28th to be delivered today. I received a text message last night saying my delivery would arrive between 2:45pm and 4:45pm. I waited and the time came and went. At 6pm I received a call from the delivery driver saying they were running late but would arrive in 15 minutes. I waited... 8:00 pm comes and still no delivery. I called the delivery driver and he said he was home. Apparently the truck broke down and we needed to reschedule! Thanks for the communication! I then called customer service and got the run around as to what happened from the customer service representative. Some advice to her, nobody wants to hear why something didnt happen or what went wrong, they want to hear what you are going to do to make it right! Spoke to another customer service representative who said they couldnt deliver my order till next week. UNACCEPTABLE. It is not the customers fault your *** truck broke down. Its not their policy to expedite the order the next day and a refund will take 7 to 10 business days.. still unacceptable. All they could do for me is expedite my refund to 5 business days. I will NEVER shop there again!!!

We bought a tool at your Hackensack, NJ Location 40 days ago. We never needed it and were only able to try to return it yesterday as we were away on a family emergency from July 27th through this past week. My husband was told at the counter that the policy is 30 days - the item was never opened and you had more on the shelf, so it wasn't like returning Shorts at the end of the summer when winter clothes are on the rack. He asked to speak to the manager and was directed to talk to Darwin Cruz - who stood behind the policy. When my husband tried to explain the issue - Darwin said "What's the matter with you, Can't you read?" Quote end quote. I find that extremely UNPROFESSIONAL - and will be telling everyone we know how awful your store and management is.

I bought a brand new wash machine and i have 7 people in my house. The minute we bought it plug it in we have water all over the floor. Thougjt a clamp was loose but its not. Called sears they said two weeks. We have no laundry mat near us and clothes are piling up. This kind of service is not acceptable. I would not buy another one again.
