Sears Return Policy

The 30 day return policy is ridiculous!!!!! Bought a skirt & top. Was not feasible to alter, so tried to return to store of purchase. Handed a REFUND DECLINE slip with an 800 number ( useless to call any Sears number as you only hear the same robotic answer....."30 day return policy, no exceptions"). Policy NOT stated on receipt. Told that I should have checked online. If the return policy is 30 days, can't the idiots in corporate print such at bottom of the receipt? This appears to be a deliberate scheme to scam customers. Will NEVER do business with Sears again. Who wants to do any type of business with a company that treats customers with such little respect after a purchase. I don't know of any other retail store with such ridiculous policies on a clothing item. Good by to Sears. This company deserves to be in the financial strain it is in. Hope others also take their business and money elsewhere, too.

I just experienced the same issue with a return on day 33. This was purchased in advance of an event.

All packaging was still intact as well as the receipt. Would not even make exchange.

Which would have put the $$ right back in Sears pocket. But instead cost them a customer and I will shout from the roof tops DO NOT SPEND YOUR $ at Sears.

The policy is clearly stated on a sign above the registers. If you had looked up, you would've seen it when purchasing.

Also, if you weren't sure what the policy was, you should have called the store or looked it up online. This is in no way their fault. It is yours.

It's not a ridiculous policy.

It's their policy.

Just because you were ignorant and unhappy because your own mistake(s) does not mean that they have to pamper you. If you knew the items weren't going to work out, then you probably should have brought them back right away, not a million years later.

Sears in Riverside, California - Customer service sucks

I called customer service 3X. The first time to cancel my on-line order because I measured and realized the washer and dryer would not fit. They were so quick to charge my credit card on 5/24/16. On 6/02/16 I cancelled the order and was told I would be credited in 5-7 days. It's been 2 weeks and nothing! I call customer service and all the girls have a heavy accent (probably not in US). She was kind of rude and then she asked me for my credit card number? So I asked for a manager because i'm wondering why? She then started to be nice to be but by this time I didn't want to deal with her and insisted on a manager. Very discouraged with there service. Quick to charge but slow to refund.

Terrible. I ordered a remote control from a third-party vendor, never came after three weeks. Called Sears customer service, they told me they would call me back figuring out where my order was. called sears and told them what needed to be replaced on dryer. (Drum Gasket) seviceman shows up empty handed with an $89 diagnostic bill. BS my wife into replacing whole drum. Attempts repair 2 weeks later for another $200. tried to use dryer that night. drum barely turned and kicked motor out. Kids were here when repaired. He obviously did not test it. Extremely disappointed. Horrible service. Called customer service that night demanding next day service. was told to call back next day. I was actually better off before attempted repair. Has been a terrible experience with sears all the way around.

Put it together and after 1 mile, heard a rhythmical thumping. Looked at YOUTUBE and found this to be a common problem. Called Sears, they want to troubleshoot over the phone. They never heard of one thumping...I suggested they look on YouTube because the videos are all over it. Finally a technician will call me in 3-5 days. Asked why I could not make an appt now? I work in an ER and cannot answer personal calls...what are the chances they will call while I am at work? The guy said "its in the service contract". Well, I read the online one but they do not send it with the product and I don't see where they are only able to contact the technicians at glacial speed. It's not even "24hrs", but a week. I have a 30 day return policy, which I may very well use. And when you finish giving me the shaft, please do not say "Have a nice day! If there is anything else we can assist you with....." I asked him NOT to say that. It's so placating. Maybe I should have started with "bless your heart" which is code for "I know you are unable to complete the task, but I apparently have to start with you first".

Sears Kenmore Refrigerator Review from Wichita Falls, Texas

We bought a Kenmore elite refrigerator and started having problems two years into owning it. Had a repairman out the third year and it was leaking freon. 500$ and he could find the leak plus expenses to repair. I told him don't let the door hit him in the ---- on the way out. $1800 for a class in Sears stupidity. Bought a new Samsung today. Cut up my Sears card and I'm done with Sears. I will never walk in to a Sears again. End of complaint

I brought in a chainsaw to be repaired and the young tattooed woman with very loNg false eyelashes made me wait while she did nothing. She only begrudgedly helped me after the other woman CELESTE who was busy with another customer told her to. Even as she helped she continued to say it was my fault. It shouldn't be that difficult to get service .

Sears in Bremerton, Washington - Television was a total lemon and should have been replaced

an absolute nightmare with Sears when I purchased a 50 inch flatscreen tv at one of their stores. Within 4 months problems developed with both the sound and picture going dim and then bright with sound going quiet then louder all without touching the remote or set. Sears sent a repairman out but could not fix the set. Repairmen kept arriving until the one year warranty was up. They felt that the set should be replaced but both LG and Sears said no and that if I wanted them to come back I would have to purchase an extended warranty for a year at $100+. I ended up after 2 years buying 2 extended warranties and Sears came out 7 times total never being able to fix the initial problems. At one point the entire picture went blank and they replaced almost everything in the tv. Now after 2 more years the tv has totally failed and my last warranty has expired. I have contacted Sears and they say there is nothing they can do even though they never fixed the tv under the initial warranty and forced me to buy 2 additional warranties. This has been the worst experience with any product I have owned and shows what Sears thinks of their customers.
