so I bought my husband 5 pairs of boots online thinking he'd try them on and return 4. I do it all the time when I shop other stores so I figured simple and easy. except this is sears where nothing is ever easy, there is literally a problem every time. even buying a $10 tree skirt for Christmas. anyway out of 4 lets see 1 they claimed didn't come from there even as we had receipt and it matched the boots etc, manager finally figured it out. then another for some reason said it was purchased months earlier, again manager figured it out. and one went back no problem, so shocking. the last for some reason could only be mailed back though it was bought from sears and not a marketplace or kmart etc. as soon as we had to mail it I figured there would be a problem. a month later no refund! they've basically just stolen our money and got the boots back. $124 goodbye. I consider that sort of like a fee to pay to never shop there again since we never will. when we tried to dispute it with our card they claimed it was valid and just won't give our money back. since my husband threw out the tracking receipt because he didn't think sears would honestly rob us, we have no proof. I cannot wait until they go out of business. I'm not even sure how they are still in business.

Sears Electric Leaf Blower

Don't Purchase from Sears! My wife purchased a electric leaf blower as a gift for me for Father's Day. My older Sears leaf blower was not doing the best job anymore. She new I wanted a new one for some time so when she noticed one on sale three months ago she purchased it and put it away. She was going to have our kids give it to me on Father's Day. My wife noticed this past week that when I was blowing leaves off the pool patio I accidentally dragged the extension cord over the pool and she thought I was going to get hurt. Now she tells me the story about purchasing a new blower and put it away until Fathers Day. So today to make my wife happy, I went back to Sears to return this blower NEVER OPENED and USED SEARS CARD when she purchased it. SEARS Management said ANY ITEM purchased and not returned within 30 DAYS will no longer be accepted for return. I called Sears Corporate Office and they said they were instructed to say the same thing. SEARS will no longer take back any merchandise after 30 days from purchase date. :( I will no longer Trust Sears for anything. Christmas time we purchase way in advance to beat the crowd. NOT AT SEARS, NO WAY, NO HOW.

My husband originally took his mother to the Sears Outlook to look for a refrigerator and dishwasher. She picked out a dishwasher, but wasn't happy with the refrigerators. The appliances are set up so you can only see them from the front. When the dishwasher showed up for delivery, there were large dents in the sides. The delivery man had mentioned that to the people at the location where the appliance was to be picked up. They told him to take the dishwasher anyway because she purchased the warranty with it so any problems would be covered. When he showed up to drop off the dishwasher, he mentioned the conversation he had with my mother-in-law. She told them she decided to reject the delivery. After that, my husband took his mother to the Sears store at Meadows Mall. She picked out a refrigerator and dishwasher totaling over $2000. The refrigerator was to be delivered today between 4:30-6:30pm. The dishwasher was to be delivered tomorrow between 12:00-2:00. They were to call my husband about 30 minutes prior to delivery so he could be at her house for the deliveries. At 6:45pm, my husband called the store asking where the refrigerator was since he hadn't heard from anyone. After being told many times that they had no way to contact the delivery people (not part of Sears), my husband asked for a manager. The customer service lady kept telling him that there wasn't a manager available. Finally.....after about 20 additional minutes, a manager (Noah)got on the phone. He said he would get a hold of the delivery people and would personally call my husband back within an hour. That did not happen. He called the store back again. This customer service person asked if it was okay to reschedule for Saturday. My mother-in-law almost jumped through the phone (she's a tiny Japanese lady – 4'8” - 85 lbs). At this point, my husband was already REALLY ticked off and flat out said “NO”. He said he needed a guaranty that the refrigerator would be installed by 12:00 tomorrow since the dishwasher was to be installed right after that time frame. The manager said she couldn't guaranty anything, but offered him 50,000 points. My husband once again said no and was offered 100,000 points. She kept making excuses about guaranteeing any delivery. At that point, my husband told them to cancel both appliances. This BS cost them over $2000. Before making any purchases from Sears, consider how much time you would want to waste waiting for the appliance to be delivered. Also, keep in mind, they were going to knowingly deliver a defective appliance to an elderly lady. We'll be taking her to a different store to get her appliances.

Sears in Portland, Oregon - DON'T BUY OR USE CITIBANK CREDIT CARD

Attempted to order a part and their representative on-line recommended the WRONG PART. The other part did not work either and it is ridiculous and takes way too long waiting on phone to get a RETURN CONFIRMATION NUMBER. Found out having to call and wait again that one of the number was WRONG. Sent both parts back and hope I get MY REFUND. Sears site to pay the CITIBANK CARD has a tendency to work AFTER your DUE DATE, so CITIBANK CAN CHARGE $27.00 LATE FEE. I have to call someone from Citibank to REQUEST FOR THE LATE FEE BE CREDITED. Why would CITIBANK be so nice to pass up FREE MONEY?

How bad is Sears? Let me count the ways.

I recently purchased a new washer and dryer from Sears in Placerville California which was delivered on Wednesday 5/25. I used it for the first time the following day but could not make it work.; as I had an error code 0f E11. The national customer service could not identify the code and said I needed to call local store to swap out the unit. The entire phone conversation was focused on buying the extended warainty which I declined when I purchased the units. At 6:03 PM California time I received a sales call wanting me to buy the extended warranty. I replied that if the warranty was so imperative, perhaps the quality was not there and that I SHOULD RETURN THE UNITS. The person who called from 530-417-0719. I am sick and tired of having companies with which I do business giving my personal information such as phone numbers to third party companies, and disturbing my privacy. If you agree arise and speak put via Facebook, Twitter etc.

I went to this store to purchase a shower gift only to find the item pictured below. I was then told by Jeff Gieb at the Edgewood Town Center location in Pittsburgh Pa that I was welcome to wipe the filthy dirty crib mattress if I wanted to purchase it. He then instructed the customer service clerk to get wet paper towels from the rest room and give them for me to wipe it off. When I asked if a employee could clean it. He refused to speak with me any further. He sent Larry who also told me to clean it myself or leave the store.

Bought a kenmore elite in late 2009. For several years we have had a problem with racks falling into oven. Serious safety issue. After checking the internet to see how to fix the issue we discovered that at least a dozen other people had reported the same issue. I called Sears. Not only have they not recalled the product they said we were outside of their service area. Strange they had no problem delivering them here. We live in Waverley, a few miles from Dartmouth, NS. The oven is a bloody safety hazzard as the walls apparently expand after using the self cleaning function. I am beyond pissed off! Never buy their products. They do not stand behind them or provide proper service.
