Sears review in Pensacola, Florida: Sear sucks

2.4
Details
I bought a Kenmore front-load washer 40272 in 2010. Earlier this year I scheduled an appointment for a technician to come look at my malfunctioning washer. It would stop in the middle of any cycle and would not restart. I understood that there would be a charge of $89 for the service call and estimate, and that if I chose to have the repair done, that amount would be applied toward the total repair bill. A technician showed up while I was at work, my wife let him in, he ran a couple of diagnostic tests and concluded that everything checked out and we were using too much soap. Really? We have always used the machine in accordance with all manufacturers instructions. He never even tried to run it through a cycle to see what happened. Why would you not wait until the unit was in a failed state and THEN run the diagnostic? My wife told me that he spoke to her in a very condescending and unprofessional tone, which I did not appreciate. He also mentioned that he was from Michigan. He stated that Sears was so backed up, that they were using out of state technicians. So, I get charged for an estimate that never happened, no repair was offered, and my wife feels that she was treated poorly. I put the washer on the curb for the piece of junk that it was and bought a new washer elsewhere. I will NEVER use Sears again, and I continue to tell everyone I know of my unpleasant experience.

Sears review: Review in Supermarkets and Malls category from San Antonio, Texas

I took my truck at 8:00 a.m for oil change, tire rotation and replace front and back brakes and hours later my brakes have not been done. The guy who put the paperwork never bother to check the status on the job. Never kept me up to date about the status. I called twice throughout the day he kept Saying brakes take time. So by 6:00 pm closing time they were just beginning on my brakes. They took priority on other vehicles and ignored mine. When they realized they didn't have the time to complete the brake job, the manager kept apologizing for his stupidity, ignorance. The the audacity begging me to keep the truck for another day. He ruined my day and now wants to ruin the next day. Wow... I was very angry and this was an injustice. So please never take your vehicle to sear automotive for simple projects that normally take 2-3 hours and not 2 days...bad customer courtesy. I get only $100.00 removed from my receipt for customer satisfactory--- really!!! 10 hours and they didn't do anything to replace my brakes! ***!

Sears review: Review in Supermarkets and Malls category from Hanover Park, Illinois

I have Kenmore Sewing Machine was was not working and when I noticed the warranty sticker on machine I decided to call. When I spoke with the representative they said it was covered and they provided me the drop off location. When I went to the location and dropped off nobody has mentioned the charges of the repairs neither online Sears customer service nor the store. When it was repaired and I got the call to pick up they wanted me to pay about $105 for a machine that I have originally purchased for $100. My biggest concern is that they performed the repair and charged me without my consent. I even have the slip agreement which if it was out of warranty they were suppose to collect $50 pre payment before repair which was NOT collected. Second, on that agreement I do not even have my signature agreeing to it! So basically, they stole my machine and wanting me to pay for repair which costs more than the new machine. Wow Sears, WOW!!!

Sears review: Review in Supermarkets and Malls category from Lake Winnebago, Missouri

I purchased a washer and dryer plus 2 pedestals from Sears at their Chesterfield, MO store to be delivered and set up 6/13/16. We got the washer & dryer but only one damaged pedestal. The salesman only rang up one pedestal. The delevery man called the distribution center and they said they woul be delivered on 6/20/16, did not happen. Then got email from Sears that we would get one pedestal on 6/27/16. They damaged it again but did not call and let me know that it would not be delivered. I talked to the store manager at Chesterfield and He assured me could take care of getting my appliances connected and would leave me a message on 6/28/16 no message. What is going on with Sears that they treat their customers so poorly. It's 7/1/16 and I still can't use my appliances.

Sears review in Chattanooga, Tennessee: *** service and unethical repairment

I had warranty work performed on my Craftsman riding mower, they were to change the fluids, replace the blades and tune it up. I wasn't able to be there, but my wife was and she trusted him to do the work. He didn't replace the blades nor perform any of the work. Had another guy from Sears come out and he admitted it wasn't accomplished and ordered all of the parts then they sent the original guy out who said the new parts were bad and was just going to leave the mower in the garage disassembled! He basically stole the new blades and charged us for work he didn't perform. I will never purchase anything from Sears again! When you have a company such as K-mart buy you out, that should reveal how *** your chain has become. Now, I am attempting to contact Craftsman once again in hopes that they will eventually do the work correctly and accurately.

Sears Maintenace Technician maintenaned Refrigerator and caused leak in refrigerator

1.0
Details
For the last 20 years I have bought majority of my appliances from Sears for myself and my parent’s home. I have also gotten my appliances maintained by Sears Technicians. I have always recommended Sears to friends and family, until this last three months. Due to the absolute incompetence of Sear’s technicians as well as their lack of customer service, I am now and will be telling everyone about the absolute horrific experience I have had. A Sears technician came to my home for a dryer problem. He fixed that and then told me about a special that Sears had about maintenance on all appliances running that day and that he could check all my appliances and see if they had issues. He checked all my appliances and came back with absolutely nothing wrong with my appliances. And then he offered a "Sears master Agreement protection" and on the phone confirmed with the Sears representative that my appliances where in good working order. I bought the Sears master Agreement for 5 years. So far so good. The next morning I go to my basement and there is leak from the ceiling right above where the refrigerator is. I frantically clean up and call Sears and was told a technician would be out to take a look at it next Saturday. No Sorry for your loss and your trouble. During the week, I get a call from a very angry Sears representative stating that there is no way the Sears technician did anything wrong, but she did keep asking me if I signed any papers. I didn’t sign any papers . Even if I didn’t sign paper, she yelled and screamed that Sears didn’t do anything wrong. Again no apologies, no sorry for your loss. In the meantime I got phone call and email from Sedgewick regarding my loss and provided them the necessary information. Saturday comes around and a Sears Technician comes around and immediately asks me to sign papers and was more interested in finding out if I signed any papers with the original technician than anything else. He didn’t do anything but order a new refrigerator part and asked for a plumber to come in a replace a nut. I had a plumber come in on April 20th and he was surprised that the Sears Technician didn't have that nut. It’s apparently standard stock nut that is carried by all technicians. He used to be a Sears technician. He charged me $140.40 for coming out to provide the nut. I had to *** from work for 4 hours and lost my hourly rate Another Sear’s technician then came out and installed the refrigerator part and tried to put the refrigerator back. He wasn't able to and asked that I replace the copper water pipe with another type of flexible water pipe. I did tell him that a plumber had already been out and "Why did the first technician not ask to replace the water pipe". He left without fixing anything. I did not get the water pipe replaced. I just tightened the new refrigerator part and the copper water pipe together with a wrench. Voila fixed! About a week ago, I get a phone call from an angry Sear’s representative stating that there was absolutely nothing that the Sears technician did wrong and that my claim was being denied because of pre-existing condition. So the appliances were in perfect condition when I paid for the maintenance. The appliances were in perfect condition when I paid for the "Sears Master Protection Agreement"The very next day, as soon as there was damage to my property, all of a sudden my 2014 Refrigerator was in bad shape. Really! There were no leaks under my refrigerator before the maintenance and there was leak after he left.

SEARS/KENMORE kitchen appliances don't even last a full year!

1.0
Details
I deeply regret purchasing SEARS/KENMORE kitchen appliances! In September of 2015, I bought a KENMORE ELITE Microwave (~$500.00), Oven (~$1500.00), and Dishwasher (~$1000.00) at SEARS. At 7 months, the microwave came close to catching fire when the fan came on by itself and could not be turned off from the button on the panel! I had to unplug it to get it to turn off. The microwave was very HOT to the touch all over the exterior! If we had not been home, I believe it would have caught fire, and burned down our home! At 9 months, the dishwasher leaked water like a sieve, damaging our cabinets, and *** water into the basement! Again, if we had not been home, our home would have likely flooded. SEARS Customer Solutions was unwilling to resolve these product failures to my satisfaction! They scheduled a sub-contractor to come out to my home an amazing 10 days after the unit broke. On the day of the appointment, the "tech" calls 1/2 hours before the end of the appointment window, and tells us that he got held up on his current call and the next available appointment he could give us was 14 days out! Customer Solutions was condescending and rude when I called them, and everyone I spoke to acted like a bunch of script-monkeys deflecting any reasonable and sensible resolution I proposed! A low-level rep. who identified himself as a manager, whom I later found out in a subsequent call was not, hung up on me! In total, I was on the phone with SEARS for more than 6 hours! I don't want SEARS to throw parts at the problem, I want a full and complete exchange! Water poured like a waterfall from the center of the bottom of the dishwater, and SEARS reps can't grasp a simple concept like electronic components exposed to water will shorten the expected useful life of an appliance! The unit came with a 1 year manufacturer warranty, which currently covers the replacement of the part that failed, but does not guarantee that other components that were exposed to water won't fail down the line! So 5 months from now when the unit fails again, I have to bear the costs of repair! I tried to meet them in the middle, and ask for a warranty on the other electronic components if they fail after the manufacturer warranty expired, but they wouldn't accept that compromise! The lesson I learned: Don't EVER under any circumstances BUY SEARS OR KENMORE! Their products are poorly made, and don't back their products! It is my hope that I will have saved someone else the headache of dealing with SEARS by posting my experiences with KENMORE products, and SEARS complete and total lack of responsiveness and customer service. As for me I'll never again buy SEARS or KENMORE!
