Sears - Kenmore Refrigerator Review from Mountain View, California

My wife ordered a Kemore stainless steel refrigerator from Sears on January 30, 2016 for our vacation home in Florida. We live in the north east and were not present for the delivery, but a family member was and stated that all looked well. When we arrived at our home in Florida on April 1, 2016 we noticed deep pitted rust on the refrigerator door behind the handle and surface rust between the doors. We thought no problem, Sears will handle it. To our surprise when we called Sears we were told that there is only a rust warranty for 30 days and they refused to cover it. We kept our cool and fought hard, we spoke to supervisors and various levels of management but they refuse to take any responsibility. We have always had stainless steel appliances from LG, GE and Samsung and have never had rust of any kind. So we then learned about, and tried the Magnet test and we discovered that magnets stick very well to the Kenmore product but not the other brands. We researched further and learned that nickel and chromium are used to make stainless steel "stainless" and if the steel does not contain enough of these compounds your stainless steel will rust. If there is enough Chromium and Nickel magnets will not stick to the stainless steel. At this time my wife and i have given up on Sears and will no longer shop there. I'm tired of fighting and will consider this a $1,400.00 lesson. Im not sure how much longer Sears can stay in business in consideration of their current financial situation, but it's clear that the end will come more quickly if they continue to treat their customers poorly!

I already submitted a complaint to the executive CSC dept, but the people that this company hires for Human Resources offices are from another planet! I applied for a few jobs with the company and her phone conversation turned me off so bad I don't really want to work for Sears Co now, this is the NC Call Center! Although I'm thinking of going ahead and get an attorney about it since I can't get any where!

Purchased a top of the their line kenmore elite stainless steel microwave....What I got was a deceptively labeled "fake stainless steel" microwave for almost $800. The handle is all blistered and I have cut my hand several times on it. It is really plastic covered with a fake covering to look like stainless. Despite hundreds of complaints on the internet, SEARS refuses to remedy or fix unless I pay $249 for labor plus the price of a new handle (between $90 $ $100) UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! DONE WITH SEARS...spent over $10,000 on appliances! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE....DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!

I would like the handle to be repaired or a replacement of microwave as several people have cut their hands on the peeling handle and slivers of the fake covering have been falling into our food. Also the deceptive description of the product should stop.

Sears in Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Incompetence

We have made two very expensive purchases at Sears although we shouldve learned the first time Sears made a mistake. We were moving and bought a new fridge. We made a point to give our new address for delivery and where did the fridge go? Our old apartment! It took 5 additional days for it to get delivered again instead of them making a solid effort to correct their mistake and get it to us sooner. Being optimistic that they wouldnt make a big mistake again we decided to trust them and buy a riding mower last week. It was delivered today and my husband noticed as soon as the people left we had about a 12 inch scrape down to the metal on the mower deck. Its yellow and now with a large splash of red paint. How lovely. Not even two minutes in our garage and theres that gash and multiple other scrapes. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?? You literally had to take it out of the box, drive it down your ramp and into our garage. Customer service offered us a new unit that would take one week TO A MONTH! are you kidding me?? or a $250 gift card. we said thats not good enough and they went to $300. What you shouldve said was you can have the gift card and a new mower within a week. That wouldve been good customer service and restored my faith in your idiotic company. Now I am stuck with points for in-store credit that I am going to have to pawn off on someone else BECAUSE WE WILL NEVER SHOP AT SEARS EVER AGAIN. You suck sears. you really suck. shame on you.

Sears in Ithaca, New York - Seriously- inconsiderate

After buying a king size mattress/base, and pedestal- had to wait over 10 days for it to get here... Got the call from delivery guy yesterday. He had to ask ME what the delivery was even for...He did not know. We set up delivery for today between 3pm and 4 pm. Sears store just called me after 1pm to say it was not coming today, it was damaged when it got there. It supposedly was ripped when the delivery guy picked it up this morning. Sears guy said He knew at 9am but did not want to call me that early!!! Seriously!!!! How is that helping me!? If i had of rec'd a call then, i could have worked or not cancelled my appts today...or not moved heavy things so they could get the mattress up the staircase...now i have to move the shelves back, then move them AGAIN when they come back!!! Such a drag. WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME AND PAIN IN MY BODY!! That 9 am call could have solved so much inconvenience for me. Then i am informed the manager is not in for two days...so i call CS line...i get disconnected after calling in to complain to main Sears line...why did they take my number if they were not going to call me back when we got disconnected... Pour some more salt on my wound Sears! Wasted more of my time. Could have ordered the bed somewhere else for a little more money...but would have already been sleeping in my new bed...My time is clearly not valuable or important to Sears...just my money. The guy from Sears that called acted like He did me a favor by ordering another one, not calling me as soon as He knew, AND that He was not going to charge me for delivery!!! Really!!! I either already paid for a delivery or it came with free delivery ...how dare Him act like the disrespect He is showing me is somehow helping me...??? All together, bad service, and now it will be another 7 days before i get my bed! IF IT COMES THEN...does not seem i can trust them to do what they say. Why am i waiting 20 days for a bed!?!?!? Gotta Love the New Sears---Third World Version

I purchased Sears Dishwasher with delivery/installation. Four days later, when delivery/installation was expected, I get an email the order was canceled. I called Sears and the lady (no joke--she stated her name was Ken, operator 803806) at customer service who was barely audible on top of her rickshaw or elephant from God knows what third world country Sears uses, told me there was a problem between the installation crew, the pick up and ultimately the delivery location. So, instead of Sears using a small measure of logic, reason and bit of common sense to communicate effectively with one another to resolve a very simple issue, Sears decided to arbitrarily cancel my order. Anyway, thankfully I will never have to order anything from Sears again.

This particular store if the worst of all.Placed order for iphone 6 for gifting my wife online when there was some sale going on.had placed order online and got a shipping confirmation on 05oct.But they started the delaying tactics and probably used my money somewhere else,who knows how much money they would have accumulated with this tactics.Finally one day i receive email from them the vendor cannot ship the handset because sears was having some issues with the vendor.I dont know me as a customer has to do with Sears' vendors.Lastly forcibly they refunded the money saying they cannnot deliver the hand set. I know i have the full email trails with me and I can file a consumer complaint against them.Can some one let me know the way ahead. Regards Vinay

I recently went to our local Sears store (February) and purchased all new kitchen appliance ($8000 worth). I walked through the store with the associate and picked out all of the appliances as she wrote them down on a piece of paper. We paid for the appliances and asked that they be delivered to our garage as we are doing a remodel. They were delivered in March. The numbers on the boxes all matched the numbers on the receipts so I thought everything was fine. All of the appliances are still in the sealed boxes. I noticed today that the box for the "double" oven was small. After looking online and then opening the top of the box we realized it was a "single" oven instead of the double. The associate typed in the wrong number. It was off by one number. (ok I understand that people make mistakes). My husband and I went to the store to try and get an exchange done for the larger (more expensive) oven....this is where it gets riduculous!!! The store managers and the associates admit that she made a mistake and typed in the wrong number. If they could we would have made the exchange for the larger oven tonight. I would have paid the difference and we would have moved on... So Sears has a 30 day return policy...which I didn't know because it is no where on any of the paper work I was given. It is in very small print on the side of the register. No one told me this at the time of purchase. I spent an hour an a half in the store waiting while the managers "talked" about what to do. Then they came out an handed me a phone to speak to someone at customer Solutions, this call was disconnected. I then spoke to someone with delivery who couldn't help with this problem. The managers in the stores couldn't do anything to authorize an exchange (for a more expensive oven...which would mean more money to sears). I was then given a phone number to call for customer solutions.....which I have called and explained the situation 4 times, sat on hold each time for at least 20 minutes to be disconnected. I have been transferred from customer solutions, to in store experience, to online sales , to in home delivery (again) back and was disconnected again. I called back for the 6th time and told the story again to be told I have to call another number tomorrow.....because everyone is now closed. SERIOUSLY??????? I would think they would gladly exchange this oven to have me purchase a more expensive one??? Go figure. I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER purchase from Sears again!!!!!1
