Sears in Colleyville, Texas - Jenn Air cooktop

We have been a customer of Sears for over 45 years. Every appliance in my house is from Sears and most of our tools came from Sears. I have had issues over the years but have always been able to reach out to someone and find resolution. So now I am reaching out for help. We have purchases service agreements on our appliances for many years now and have been satisfied with the service. Recently we had our Jenn Air cooktop go out on us and since this is how we cook our meals for our family we called for service. We were able to get someone out in a short period of time but when he arrived we were told it would be 2 weeks before he could be back and he would order the necessary parts be sent to our home. Two weeks later he arrived but said he could not get all the parts we needed so he was putting in for a replacement. We loved our cooktop and we were not looking forward to having to find a replacement. Sure enough we found out Sears no longer works with Jenn Air to get the same type of unit we had (ours is one that has a replacement cartridge on one side, downdraft in the middle and a grill/griddle on the other side.) So we have searched every product Sears carries and we can’t find anything the same except for the downdraft. We have talked to Sears many times and I was told today they would provide one that has the downdraft but otherwise we had to take what they had. I feel that if they can’t replace it with what I had then they should give me the money to get one somewhere else. I would even be willing to meet them halfway. We went online and found a unit like we want at a Sears Outlet that was over a hundred miles from our house. There is one problem to finding that unit since it is sold without the cartridges and since Sears no longer works with Jenn Air we can’t get the cartridges to make this unit work. But they will not buy us the cartridges to make this Jenn Air work for us. So they are not going to replace our unit they are making me settle for something that does not work for us at all. I have paid them my money in good faith that they will do what they say they will do but it seems that is asking too much. Is there anything that can be done to actually replace my much loved Jenn Air with grill/griddle?

Preferred solution
I want to get a replacement even if they have to go to Jenn Air to get it or at least let me get the unit I found in Allen, Tx and then go to Jenn Air for the cartridges.

No receipt with purchase at sears

I just ordered $80.00 of lawnmower parts using my credit card at a sears parts store. They are unable to give me any type of receipt at the store. I must go home and go on line and mess around, ending up having to call an 800 number to find out how to print the receipt. The lady at the service center was indeed pleasant and helpful while the woman in the store was less than pleasant when I asked for a receipt. I believe she must be very tired of making excuses for a poor store policy which is not her fault. Never the less sears is at the bottom of the list of stores I go to when I need to purchase something.

Sears in Staten Island, New York - Nobody will return my phone calls

I purchased an a/c- heating unit for my home and was told it would save me about 30%on my energy bills, so far no savings in 9 months. When I looked at the unit package I found out they sold me just about the lowest efficiency unit available. When I called to complain to the company i can't get anyone to return my calls, they keep telling me there getting a supervisor on my problem but I still haven't heard from anyone in 5 days. I guess my next step is to take them to court. Funny thing is the only reason I did the job with them was I thought they were a stand- up company, I guess I was very wrong! Dissatisfied in Staten Island!

Sears in Poolesville, Maryland - Denied refund for incorrect shipment

Ordered knobs for my GE cooktop. Received 4 knobs in plastic bag in box with no invoice or PO number. Knobs didn't fit. Bank acct billed $48. When I called to get a return address for a return authorization was told I needed the PO# to get authorization #. They didn't even have my phone (call to order item is still in memory of calls made on my cell phone) on record that I made the order with nor my address. In a nutshell I was told I'm stuck with 4 knobs and to eat the $48.00. I'm 72 living on fixed income and have to make every dollar count. I'll never abuy anything from Sears again. All the proof I have is a box plastered with UPS number and 4 knobs I'll never use.

Have worked for Sears, terrble place to work. Very low pay, comission always being cut left and right, you lose commission if customers use a coupon or you do any kind of reduction in price. Management plays favorites, stores are short staffed and cannot keep employees. This who do stay have to do the work of several people for very little pay. Abusive customers who get whatever they want and management with no backbone. Management expects associates to do every single thing and no one really helps you when you need it. Raises locked for the past 10 years, bow benefit rates are locked (cant even get paid benefit rates when you do your training). Bonuses are extremely difficult to get because they gave us more requirements for it. Really push credit, rewards program on associates who then get pushy with customers about it. If i knew then what i know now about Sears, i wouldn't have bothered working for this company. I hate it.

Sears in Ohio - Ouble Oven

I ordered a double oven and a microwave vented hood 8/15/15. I asked about a coversion kit to Lp and was told it came with the oven. Confirmation # 951492430The microwave came fine. The oven was damaged and we would not sign for it. The driver was rude and nasty to us for not signing for it and taking it. The next day I called sears order number to check on reorder and it wasn't ordered so I had to order it again. 8/30/15. Was told it would be delivered 9/10/15. They called 15 minutes before widow time was up and said it was damaged again and they were not coming. That was the 2nd. day I took off work. Was told it would be delivered 9/24/15 on the reorder. It finally came and even with the dings we took it. My husband asked the delivery men if everything was out of the box and they said yes. He saw a bag in the truck and asked them if it was to the oven and they said no. They left and we started looking at the stove and the L.P. conversion kit was missing. I called the delivery number right a way and told them it was in the truck and was told it was to late contact order number. So I did She said it was ordered Confirmation # 16569629. Never received called again 10/9/15 told the story again 40 min. on the line with a woman named Lovly (she argued it didn't come with it and I told her it said in the O.M. it is included) and she put me on hold then hung up on me. Called back was told it didn't come wit oven after explaining it comes with the stove all over again I broke down and paid for it even thou I had an email and a confirmation # because I wanted it hooked up before my new kitchen was installed. Finally received the kit late October. At this time My Kitchen was being worked on and couldn't hook it up. Finally after the first of the year I called to have Sears hook it up and convert to L.P they said they didn't do that. So we called a local plumber and they came out tried to hook it up and it was the wrong kit sent. Called Sears back and went back over the whole story again and got the run around for 2 hours and finally talked to service department (Gavis 780999) and was told it comes with the stove and a kit would be sent no charge. finally got new kit called plumber again and finally got it installed. I was charged by the plumber $172.50 for two calls because the wrong kit was sent first and $30.24 for a kit I couldn't use. Plus my oven has a purchase date of 8/15/15 so its all most out of warrant.

Sears in Twin Peaks, California - Buyer Beware!

Whatever you do, don't buy a major item at Sears. We paid almost $300 for a Kenmore vacuum that broke after 8 weeks. Sears wouldn't take it back because it had been over 30 days and when we took it to their repair shop there was no record of the purchase even though we had the receipt in our hand. They told us it would be 2 weeks but after 2 weeks I called and again they had no record of us dropping it off, then they said it would be another month. So now we still have no vacuum. We were a great customer of Sears for 30 years but once the company sold, the customer service went out the window. Now it's all about net profits. What a shame!
