Sears in San Rafael, California - Repair

3.9
Details
My frig/freezer is only 4 1/2 yrs old and it is not working. First call went out on Jan. 31. Man gives me a Feb. 1 appt. then when I call I am told no, it's on the 8th. Ok, I wait and finally tech comes. He checked and had to order new compressor and tells me it will arrive at my home. Fine, another appt. on the 17th of Feb. that's today. I wait for repair tech but called to make sure of my appt. Told my appt. has to be rescheduled because tech can't make it. Get all kinds of excuses and here I have been without a frig. for almost three weeks. Another appt. given to me for the 24th, another week to wait. What kind of service is this, why is it called emergency service, so frustrated and then told to keep calling this number that I was given to see if any cancellations come in every day. How much do I have to suffer without a frig/freezer before my practically new frig/freezer is fixed? I am a senior citizen and believe me my blood pressure went up, could feel it rising. What kind of service is Sears giving me. I don't think I can recommend Sears for service any more. This certainly wasn't a cheap appliance. If replacing the compressor doesn't fix the problem, a measly $500 will be given to me, how funny is that. This frig/freezer cost me over $2,000.

Sears in Paterson, New Jersey - Queen Box Spring Debacle!

1.0
Details
On September 7, 2015 I ordered a Serta Perfect Sleeper Quiet Oaks Super Plush Pillowtop Queen Mattress and Box Spring (Order #837664323) from www.Sears.com. Upon arrival on September 17th the Queen Box Spring would not fit up our stairs (we live on the 3rd story of an old Victorian). So the delivery team put the box spring back on the truck since they couldn’t even get it upstairs. They advised me to contact the Home Delivery department to order a Split Queen Box Spring so it would fit up the stairs. I had problems reaching anyone that would help me but I finally got a call from someone on 09/22/15 who said they received my paperwork and could process the purchase of a Split Box Spring. I told her which model number I wanted and she proceeded to order it. Mind you, during this whole time, I had not received a refund for the original Box Spring ($143.44) that would not fit up my stairs…The representative orders the split box spring for me and emails me a receipt which I have attached here. The new box spring was $233.75 (SALESCHECK # 099118673910). The lady’s email address it came from is: vlowery@searshc.com. She scheduled the delivery for 09/26/15. That day they brought in the split box spring and it was able to get up the stairs. We didn’t have them set up the box springs because we just bought a new bed frame from IKEA and still had to put everything together. However, once we finally put our bedframe together, we found out that we actually didn’t need a box spring at all and adding the box spring to the bed made it very high. So I called Sears back and asked them if I could just return the split box spring since we didn’t need it. On 10/22/2015 they ended up coming and picking up the split queen box spring. That same day I got an email saying they refunded me $143.44 but the problem is, that is the amount for the original non-split queen box spring that I ordered on 9/7/2015 from Sears.com that wouldn’t fit up my stairs…I waited a billing cycle to see if maybe the $233.75 would be refunded at a later time. Unfortunately it wasn’t…Thus began my endless cycle of reaching out to multiple people to try and get a refund for this second amount. I have ZERO box springs from Sears, EVERY SINGLE BOX SPRING (which is 2) have been returned to their warehouse. I started a Chat room conversation and asked them to refund me but they said I had to call to get a refund. So I called some number they gave me and no one was helpful, they were just running in circles. Finally they said they were able to submit for the return and I would get a confirmation email within 24 hours. Instead I get a phone call from some guy saying that he got the request to refund my MATTRESS and wanted to know the story. I told him that it was not in fact my mattress; it was for the split queen box spring in the amount of $233.75 that was returned on 10/22/15. He said he had to reach out to the store in Texas because apparently the lady who called me originally to order the split queen box spring worked in Texas and he had to confirm with them that they ordered the box spring since it wasn’t done online…Okay, sure, whatever, I’ve been jerked around many time before but maybe this guy is finally going to help…NOPE, I have never heard back. On 2/7/16, I started the BBB Complaint process but I saw that there was an email address: CustomerRelations@searshc.com to try and contact first. Since I had not tried this avenue yet, I figured hey, I will give Sears one last shot to redeem themselves and try to find someone to help me so I emailed them a similar message to what I have explained to you here. On 2/8/16 at 4:31pm I received a voicemail from a lady named Sandra referencing Case #4034105, her number was 888-266-4043 extension 48. I called her back at 4:58pm and left a voicemail. I have not heard anything back since that date and I will not be trying again, I am no longer going to chase them around for a resolution. I submitted a BBB complaint and now I am submitting one here. We will never buy from Sears again and as soon as our credit card is paid off, we will be canceling the card. STAY AWAY FROM SEARS.

Horrible manager at Sears in Santa fe

2.1
Details
My fiancé is a cashier at the sears in santa fe and always complains about how one of her bosses treats her and is always trying to get her fired. Me and a friend went to Sears to pick her up after her shift and while we waited for my fiancé so we could buy a few things, i got to meet the manager she always talked about. the manager asked me and my friend to leave if we weren't purchasing anything, she somehow missed the cart full of items i had beside me. Her name is Nancy and she is rude and racist and i can't wait until my fiancé quits, she is too nice and hardworking to deal with that kind of treatment.

I purchased my refrigerator from Sears in May, and it worked for about 3 months. The first thing I noticed was water leaking on to the top shelf in the refrigerator. Next the freezer stopped freezing my food completely, as I noticed that my fresh spinach was still soft...

My mom purchased a Kenmore Refregrator 60604 Model, this is a lemon..the first 9 months were fine then the fan in the freezer stopped... no cold air in the bottom and not freezing the top..

it was luckily under warranty, then 3 months later the same problem...$ 160 bill for repair...

now 6 months later the same thing... Sears and Kenmore should be ashamed ..the worst customer service and the fact that this is happening to my MOm who is 90...is totally unacceptable...

Sears in Washington, District Of Columbia - Ripoff Extended Warranty

2.4
Details
I bought a dishwasher from sears and purchased the extended warranty. The first repair was a bad circuit board. No power at all to the dishwasher. They came and repaired it. Second call exact thing. They came and repaired it. Third call a month later - the exact thing. This time I asked for a new dishwasher. They told me the guy would have to come out and fix it and only on the fourth repair for the exact same thing could I get a new dishwasher. And that process takes a long verification and a six to eight week wait. Seriously. NEVER buy an appliance from Sears. They should have replaced my dishwasher on the second call. Clearly they are using used parts on a defective dishwasher. Shame on them. No wonder they are losing so many customers.

Sears in Phoenix, Arizona - Horrible customer experience - appliance repair

3.4
Details
My refrigerator stopped cooling, purchased by previous owner at Sears, so I thought I'd call to see what they could do. They came out the next morning, very good automated booking system, guy showed up on time, professional, that's where all the good stopped. $95.00 service call, but I knew that going in. However, after 5 minutes pulled out a blown relay, said it needs to be replaced (obviously it did). However, quoted me $105.00 for the part and $279 for labor. Are you F$&$&$$* kidding me? I know high-end corporate lawyers who don't charge $280 for 5 min of work. Looking online, the part would cost $56 with $7 S+H. I'll accept the markup, but the labor killed me. All of a sudden, the repairman said "Oh, there is a 20% off coupon if that helps..." ummmm, yes. Glad you mentioned something out of the kindness of your heart. So, like an *** and being impatient, I said "fine." So, yes, the fridge is fixed, but seriously. Ripoff. And to make matters worse, the mobile payment processing system the guy carried made it all worse. Right as I was swiping my card he says, "Oh, by the way, 99% of the time the banks will recognize this as fraudulent because our account is in Cali and not here in AZ. You'll have to confirm with you bank that it's okay." Great. So now I have to spend 30 minutes on hold with my bank to verify that "yes, I am agreeing to be ripped off by Sears, thanks." Now, strangely, they have a GREAT reservation system, with multiple emails leading up to my appointment and all this uber-customer-friendly stuff. But as soon as the service was done, nothing. Silence. Not even a "thanks for your patronage" email. Finally, I get an email asking to rate my experience and I get a link to a Google+ page with no further links to review anything. Cute. Needless to say, I will never utilize their services again. They are overpriced and no longer are the company they used to be.

FRAUD! Sears is a crooked company

1.0
Details
Sears recently advertised an 8 function digital multimeter for $8.99, (regular price $19.99). Sales staff at the local Sears store told me they had none in stock and had not had any in stock for months. They suggested I order it online with free pickup at the store. I tried that. The special sales price for Alaska was $9.89. However, if you search directly for the item for Alaska the regular price for this item is now $21.99 with a sales price of $9.99 with no store pickup. I ask you, disregarding shipping costs, why would the item itself cost more in Alaska? Why does the price change? Does it cost more to make this item for use in Alaska? Do I hear the word FRAUD? Or gouge Alaskans? And, the item wasn't available for free pickup at the store. Screw them *** people in Alaska! Right Sears? NOW that the sale is over Sears, with their kinder side, has this item listed with free store pickup. FRAUD! FRAUD! FRAUD! Sears used to be reliable and reasonably honest, except for excessive shipping charges. I guess greed from charging excessive shipping charges has spread into pricing of items and playing games with their customers.
