I dont understand their "new policy" of requiring a drivers license for returns & even exchanges ( for $10 items!) Twice I had receipts & had charged the items on Sears card.There is absolutely no reason to require my I.D. No other stores do this--not even discount big-boxes! Employees always very rude, totally ignorant & too busy on their phones to help customers in Irondequoit,NY. I'm so done with this company-cut up my card today.

I have had a Sears Kenmore so-called Elite fridge since 2012. I have had so many service calls on the same issues I have stopped counting. They are the most anti-customer retailer with which I have ever dealt in my life. So much so that I won't even buy a shirt or even a stick of gum in a Sears store. My original complaint was the icemaker, which was replaced. I also had a problem with the freezer frosting up very badly. This took months to "fix" because the techs at A & E "service" didn't like the odors in my house (now these are not toxic odors. At the time we were fostering young puppies, which granted do not make for a very pleasant olfactory experience). They would just arbitrarily cancel my service call, only finding out about it through an email. I have been hung up on by a call-center agent because I was frustrated to the point of letting out a cuss word. I immediately caught myself and began to apologize (I work in a call-center environment). However, while I was apologizing the clown just kept talking over my apology and hung up. I again had the icemaker issue, where it would jam and make this awful banging sound. It was again replaced, although the tech said there was nothing wrong with the icemaker. (Could it be that my fridge is haunted? (I said that, not the tech)). The tech had also ordered a gasket for my bottom freezer drawer, but when he brought it in he determined it was the wrong gasket. This was yesterday. The tech said he would return. Well...I'm still waiting. I called A & E. The young lady said the gasket was on order and the techs had not come in yet (this was at 9:15AM - what kind of hours do these people work?). The agent said she would call me back. Well, it is now 10am. I am not holding my breath. All I can say is it's a good thing I bought the extended warranty. If I hadn't I would be SOL, as they say. If I may offer any advice is to buy from some company that gives a *** about customers. This seems to be anybody but Sears, as long as that retailer does not use A & E.

Sears in Sarasota, Florida - Telephone delivery notification

1. The automated call about my delivery was impossible to hear because of: #1 the line had a lot of static on the other end. #2 The female announcing spoke too fast. #3 the volume was weak (I had my phone positioned to high volume!) #4 Because the message was automatic, I could not call back. Very, very, frustrating. 2. Human voice....when calling Sears Delivery information. #1. I had to tell the operator (female) to speak slower and more distinct. She complied as best as she could. #2 In giving me times of the delivery call on the day of my delivery, I could not understand what she was explaining because of her accent. She ran the vowels together (Hispanic.) She was nice and polite, but again....not clear speech. (I was an English and Speech teacher!) 3. I gave her my E-Mail address and hopefully she recorded it right. As yet, I have received nothing. 4. The above concerns the delivery of a $1,000 mattress. 5. B.D. Wish I had read the consumer reviews before purchasing from Sears on-line. Worst retail experience ever. Too many departments, no internal communication and annoying scripted responses. Waited weeks for a $2000,00 credit for a cancelled purchase and when called to check on it found out that it was never processed and I have to wait for someone to call me back to confirm... In a couple of days!!! Wtf... then another 10 days to get the refund?

Sears in Waterford Township, Michigan - REAL POOR FURNACE INSTALL

Former Home Improvement Sales I had a 2stg hi efficency furnace installed in jan 2015. Seemed to be working ok but maybe not quite right. i come to find out the 2 stage was not set on the 2 stage thermostat or at the board. I tried to set up a call w service never called me. I had the techs from my new employer go out and find that the stat was wired for 1 stage or basically 1/2 of the btus, The gas pressure not set right and i purchased a 2 stg thermostat. all they to do is tell me they could not run a 5th wire and still wire it for 2 stage. It works like a champ now. Called solution line to see if maybe i could get a couple of years warranty for what ive lost in gas bills and they stated they would have to send it to the Detroit office. I already know nothing will happen at that office, Its sad that a company like sears. could not make a decision at that level. With HOMEIMPROVEMENS THEY PASS THE BUCK BACK TO THE SALES OFFICE. iM DONE

Sears service is the worst I have ever had

Three years ago I purchased a Kenmore Elite french door refrigerator from Sears. The first one wasn't even put together good There was screws coming out and making it so that it didn't work properly. At that time after several calls and several visits by the service person it was decided that they would replace the refrigerator. I get the new Kenmore Elite and within a couple of months I start having problems with it,,,,,no power what so ever I did as they suggested and still nothing. The service man on the last call said he would be coming back because of the problem and sure enough today again no power. NONE. no matter what.. No power. I called and called and called explaining what was going on. It didn't work they wanted me to wait until the end of the week for service. The problem always happens just after I shop so here I am AGAIN having to try to keep all my food from spoiling. They say that they will give you $300. to replace the food that gets spoiled but I have found that to be a lie also because the last time I got no such money. I have had it with sears. I am done. You guys can take a flying bunt into a brick wall and I am going to let everyone I know how ignorant you are . Good Lord people

Sears in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan - Poor products, Poor return handling, Poor overall

Bought a pool table. It was delivered damaged. The second was damaged as well. Lots of phone calls to arrange pick-up. After a month still didn't get reimbursed. Then customer service said they tried to call (yeah, right!) and now I have to go back to the store as all of a sudden they are supposed to handle it. Great! As if I didn't have anything better to do with my time. This should have been handled internally by customer service and store without involving the already unfortunate customer. Lots of room for improvement!!

I needed an attachment for my vacuum. Looked online and their website indicated that there were several in the store. When I went to the store to pick one up, there weren't any on the shelf. I asked the less than helpful cashier if there was another place they may be. "No" was the response. No response like "let me check"....just "No". I went back online, ordered it for store pickup, received a text in 5 minutes that the product was available. Went back and bought.

I am now on my second vacuum suction motor failure of the second of the same Kenmore model. I was told by SearsPartsDirest that it is a motor failure and nothing else. (I have a pdf copy of the chat with the ***.) He elaborated that they have had so many of this failure that they have changed motor manufacturers. So, at his insistence I ordered a new motor on the evening of Dec 30th. Today, I was able to access the existing motor, and jump started it electrically. It ran. So, I called the SearsPartsDirect contact number.. I cannot begin to tell you how UN-helpful they were... Long conversation and story.... but they "have their policy", which will result in a nightmare getting a refund. On top of that, the original *** I placed the order with put lied about where it could be returned if I needed to.. So, Sears has "its policy" and is losing my for a customer forever. It's no wonder these large businesses are going down the tubes. They are run by people who stand on chicken *** policy instead of keeping a customer. They should have a department called "Customer Dis-service" for us to call and save some dialog by stating out right that customers are dirt and not essential to their business..
