Sears took my money, and didn't deliver on items!

I ordered some items for Christmas on 12/3, with a delivery date of 12/14 from Sears.com. I noticed when checking the status of my order on 12/13, that it stated it was processing. I then contacted online chat with customer service, and was told my item was out of stock and would have my items in 3 to 5 days, he guaranteed me that. I waited 7 days and online chatted again on 12/20, and this time my response from the agent was, my order was getting looked into, and that I would have to call back in a few days to check if it was shipped. I was highly upset, and told her to just cancel my order, because it was not going to make it in time for Christmas, plus the situation was poorly handled by sears. She told me if I placed another order with her, I could get my packages on Christmas eve, but I would have to pay again, and she would then put in a request for my refund later, which makes no sense at all. At first, I was going to do it, because it was a gift and time was running out, but she messed up placing the new order, and I just decided to just cancel it all together. She told me I would have to contact customer service AGAIN in a few days, to check on my order being refunded. I called on 12/23, and spoke to another agent and supposedly supervisor which again told me that my order was processing and could not be canceled, which at this point has being almost 3 weeks, and still no package, she said she had to put in a request to the warehouse, which I then would have to wait another 5-7 DAYS, to hear back, I then told her if I didn't hear anything by 12/28, I would escalate matters. Of course, I haven't heard ANYTHING!!!!

Sears in Sioux Falls, South Dakota - Kenmore Stoves

I purchased a Kenmore stove in September of 2013. The other night after baking a pizza, I turned the stove off by pressing the "Stop" button on the control panel. The panel started to spark, and then caught on FIRE! I was able to put the fire out, pulled the stove away from the wall, and removed the back panel. The control panel was completely burnt. Sears informed me that I should have bought the Master Protection Agreement for circumstances like this. IT IS 2 YEARS OLD. Sears refused to stand behind their product and Vanessa, the company rep, informed me that I should have had it serviced yearly like it states in the manual. Nowhere in the manual does it recommend removing the back panel and checking the mother board to see if it might potentially catch fire. Sear only attempt to make this right was to try and sell me a protection plan in case it happened again. An internet search showed that that Kenmore stoves are known for this problem, but nothing is being done to correct it. I caution any buyer, DO NOT PURCHASE A KENMORE STOVE, and I would highly recommend that due to Sears lack of concern, do not purchase anything from this company.

Ex Sears employee

I worked at Sears in Baytown for a short 3 months. I have never worked at a place so bad in my life! Operations manager is very hateful and rude to all employees. If you clocked out past your schedule time, you would get in trouble. One day I was worried about getting trouble and kept telling management they needed to get someone to take my place that I was going to be late. She calls me on the phone and when I said hello, she said hatefully, "what you cant stay?" and I replied that no one had asked me to and since she was hateful about it that no I cant stay. The whole time I worked there, I maybe took 3 breaks. We are supposed to by law get a 15 minute break and 30 minute lunch. 3 times out of the 3 months I actually got a 15 min break. She also referred to an employee as being off, because she was a little mentally slow. But that girl worked her butt off and was the sweetest person there. She has no right to refer to her that way. I liked working there on the days she was off. And I hated to quit without giving them notice, but the last meeting she told us that there were going to be a lot of new faces and the old ones would be gone. And that Sears was so cheap that they only gave them $3.00 per employee for a Christmas dinner. All that came out of her mouth at the meeting. I guess they will keep wasting money by hiring new people to train and then put them on PIP a month later if they cant get credit apps. I dont really see the logic. It costs a lot of money to train people.

WARNING! STAY AWAY FROM SEARS AND ALL THEIR PRODUCTS!!!!!

Hello, I am left with nowhere to turn. I would like to prevent this from happening from anyone else. Below is my story… I purchased a dryer and new refrigerator from Sears. My husband and I have a large family (6 kids) so, you can imagine the expenses of feeding a family of 8. Anyway, the dryer we purchased was delivered with no problem other than we paid the “haul away” fee and the service men refused to take our old dryer away stating “oh, we will never get this up the steps, either take it apart yourself and we will come back and take it, or get a refund for the haul away charge.” Needless to say, My husband took it up and out to the trash himself and we were never refunded the “haul away charge” that we paid for. Sadly to say, this isn’t even my story… The refrigerator that we had purchased in late May of 2015 completely stopped working in the beginning of September of 2015. We lost all food in our “3 month old fridge” and we called Sears immediately. It was a Friday. The customer service representative told me that the earliest they could come out, was the following Wednesday (yes, five days from them). This was considered an “Emergency call” to them. (Good thing I didn’t need them for a life threatening call) Anyway, we were forced to go out and purchase a 4.5 “Dorm type” refrigerator to put in our small kitchen, in order to atleast have something to keep eggs, milk, water etc in the house. We estimated to have lost about $350 worth of food, including all the condiments, salad dressings and food that we had. Sears told us that they would not reimburse any food loss because we didn’t’ purchase the “extended warranty” which takes over after the original warranty is over (basically, we only had the refrigerator for a few short months and the original manufacturers warranty was still in effect). After waiting 5 long days and dealing with only being able to store small amounts of cold food in our tiny “supplement” refrigerator, the day was finally here for the repairman to come. The night before, we had a call stating that they would be here first thing between 8am and 9am whereas; we were supposedly their first service appointment. Wednesday came and went without a repairman in sight. Finally, late afternoon, I called Sears only to be told that the “repairman” had called out that day. I was also told to call the 1 800 number to reschedule. When I called, they informed me that they would not be able to come out until the following week because apparently they were backed up with the “Pope” coming the next weekend. (why that made a difference, I don’t know). As you could imagine, I was furious. I managed to search the internet and find a number in corporate Sears Solutions. I have to admit, I was in tears at this point. The nice lady heard my story and apologized. She pulled some strings and had a brand new, same model, refrigerator delivered the next day. You probably are thinking, “happy ending” or “all is right in the world” again. WRONG! The refrigerator worked for about 7 weeks until we began to hear the same loud sound from the motor again coming from the new fridge. It was the Saturday after Thanksgiving that I awoke to a non-working refrigerator again. This time, I lost all the food in the refrigerator including all the Thanksgiving leftovers and the tons of Homemade turkey soup that I spent all day Friday making for our family ( I actually have photos ).. Again, all the condiments, foods, drinks, milks etc GONE! Well, here we go again, called Sears again. This time was told they were so extremely busy but would call me back. They put in an “emergency alert” and said that someone would call me ASAP. I kept calling each day with no luck. We turned off the refrigerator (not being able to stand the loud sound-plus it wasn’t’ working anyway) and let it sit for a while. We turned it back on and were able to get it running, however, had to ensure it was on the highest level. It did seem to get cold again. On Tuesday, (4 days after the emergency call was placed) there was a knock at the door and SURPRISE!! It’s a sears repairman, unannounced! Lucky I was home, you are thinking… He spent about 5 minutes, moved the 3 bags of frozen broccoli 5 inches to the left” and called it a day. He said “it seems to be cooling off fine” I begged him to check into it further, telling him that we had just turned it off and on and he said, “if it happens again, call, and we will be right out”. Funny, right?! Well, Sadly, my story doesn’t end there. With Christmas approaching and the refrigerator seeming to be running fine, I went on with my life, so to speak. December 26th , the sound started up again! I called sears only to be placed on hold. Late Sunday the 27th of December (yesterday) the refrigerator stopped working altogether once again. So, here I am, once again, calling for an “emergency repair” from Sears. After speaking with several people, being hung up on 3 times and 45 minutes of wait time, I finally got a “manager” YAY! – not so fast… I was told that the next available appointment would be January 6th. This is 9 days from now. Am I supposed to just sit back, take a food loss of hundreds of dollars (total of 3 times) and just do nothing?? My husband works two jobs to support our family. We are a large family who as many, cannot afford for this to happen! So I am begging anyone that will listen, to tell my story so it will not happen to anyone else. I now want to make it my job to let people know not to purchase products from Sears. They do not stand behind their products and do not care the difficulties that their customers go through. If you research the internet, you will find hundreds of stories like mine.

Sears in Dallas, Texas - Triple Error and Billing for Shipment Order

1.0
Details
I ordered two blow dryers to be delivered before Christmas. on December 23, the order arrived but the box was completely destroyed. One of the blow dryers was missing altogether and the remaining blow dryer had box damage within the delivery box. After an hour on the phone, a new order was replaced, paid for again, and I was guaranteed the order was available for pick-up at a store location on December 24, in time for Christmas. The second billing was initially greater than what I paid of the first shipment. I was told processing time for the refund of the initial shipment would take a few additional business days. It's December 28, and no blow dryer. I canceled the store pick-up as it is now past Christmas and I now want it delivered. Guess what - they want me to place a new order and charge me a third time. Promise of managers to call me back for a resolution are missed. Still trying to get resolved. Not going to pay for 6 blow dryers at one time!

Sears Greenwood IN - OBD Diagnostics

Sears Auto at Greenwood, IN-46142 claimed to have done a OBD diagnostics on my car today (12/26/2015) and asked me to replace Spark Plugs, Ignition Coil and CAM position actuator and provided a quote for around $ 800.00 When I asked for more details and asked for diagnostic report, they were unwilling to provide the details and they charged $79.99 for doing nothing. When the car was given to the shop, the check engine light was turned ON. They reset the CHECK engine lights and cleared the history as well. This seemed to be like cheat business to me; won't go to them anymore and won't recommend to anyone.

Sears in Jersey City, New Jersey - Still No Refrigerator!!!!!

I ordered a refrigerator (ours broke - we needed one ASAP for hosting Christmas) exactly one week ago (Saturday). I was promised delivery on Tuesday - 5 minutes before scheduled delivery, I received a phone call that they weren't coming until the next day. The next day, they actually showed up, but were 1 guy short and couldn't carry our old refrigerator out - into the garage it went. I spoke to their "boss" who rescheduled install for today between 12:15-2:15 - at 2:30, I called to see what was going on and I got an, "I'm sorry, ma'am - that appointment has been cancelled." No one cares about the inconvenience - the fact that I've spent 3 days waiting around like a *** during the busy holidays for nothing. No one. The last representative I spoke to told me she doesn't have a supervisor I can speak to. Now - apparently - they'll be here Tuesday morning - 1 week later. I am FURIOUS and will NEVER order another appliance from Sears - ever again.

Your story sounds almost as awful as ours, which I will not go into now. I still have no refrigerator after weeks of promises and incompetent service, both in the field and call centers.

Sears has no one to blame but themselves for not flourishing as a business. It is obvious the customer does not matter to them. Also, they seem to not care they are selling inferior appliances. It appears those needing replacement are being replaced with those that have the same known issues.

It is unconscionable that they operate in this manner.
