Sears in Marietta, Georgia - Service?

I just returned from an unsuccessful trip to my local Sears at Cumberland Mall in Atlant, GA. I was in search of some slacks for work. I was able to find a couple of pair that I liked in my size and tried them on. I was very satisfied with the fit an went to the checkout line. There was already a customer being checked out so I waited. And waited. It seems that the customer before me had some kind of coupon for a discount but your computers weren't recognizing it. She scanned and scanned and tried inputting the numbers manually but the system just wasn't having it. Finally she called in a supervisor to have a look. By now there was another potential customer waiting in line. The supervisor scanned the coupon and nothing happened. Scanned it again, nothing happened. Input the numbers manually, nothing happened. This brings to mind the old saying that madness is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. Finally, the supervisor gave up, looked at the two customers waiting in line to be checked out and walked away! The staff member left at the register continued the same thing she had been trying, occasionally looking over at the growing line that now had five people in it. Needless to say, people were not pleased. We all stayed calm about it but comments were definitely made. Nobody blamed the staff member who was trying to wait on the first customer but they had no kind words for management, especially the supervisor that walked away. Finally, the clerk looked at the people in line and said that she could help anyone that was paying with cash. I walked up to the counter, put the merchandise on the counter and told her that she had some more merchandise to put away. Maybe I was a bit impatient. I ONLY waited 10 minutes. But I remember when the staff waited on the customers instead of the customers waiting on the staff. I just placed my order with Amazon. I bet I get my pants faster than if I'd waited on Sears.

Sears in Rosedale, Maryland - Our gas dryer dilemma!

1.5
Details
My wife and I purchased a Kenmore washer & gas dryer from Sears White Marsh in Maryland. The washer was delivered and setup but, never really installed by a couple of non-English speaking individuals (probably from A&E Services). They hooked it up but never leveled it or tested it. My wife ended doing all that. The gas dryer was another horror. The first was delivered but, when taken out of the box it found to be severely damaged and the installers, this time a good English speaking crew, told my wife to refuse delivery and they contacted Sears to have a new one delivered. The second dryer arrives this time with another non-English crew. They begin to un-install the old dryer without turning off the gas first. They unpack the new dryer and again it has a small dent in the side. Since it was not as major as the first one my wife decides to go ahead with the install. This is where it gets ugly. In bringing the unit into the house they smash the back of dryer, completely damaging the exhaust unit and putting a big hole in our basement floor. Their response was, and I quote, "...we fix, we fix!!". At this time my wife decides we don't want a "fixed" unit when we paid for a new one. She refuses delivery again and calls Sears delivery and demands a refund of our money for the dryer and the 3 year extended warranty. At this point the now angry delivery guys basically toss the "new" unit back out the door, reconnect the old dryer mumble sound expletives in Spanish or whatever and leave. I doubt if we'll ever buy another household appliance from Sears again. Their delivery, installation and customer service sucks!!

Sears Customers Relations

I have had a few bad experiences with Sears customer service at the Portage Mi location, so I decided it was time to call Sears corporate. After a brief search I found this site and the information I was looking for was listed. I called the Sears number P.C. listed and sure enough got a very concerned rep. Patrick listened to my story's and was sincerely apologetic. He gave outstanding service, the kind I would hope to find at the store level. I feel confident making this call will resolve lack of service at the Portage store and other Sears stores as well. If you have a similar experience at your Sears I would suggest you call 800.549.4505 and give Sears a chance to correct the issue. If they don't know how they are doing at store level, then they can't correct it.

Sears - Horrible delivery experience

We bought two mattress sets, at Gresham Oregon store. Service was great from the Sears salesman. Scheduled delivery was in one week. We got the call the day before advising time of delivery. So far, so good. The day of delivery we got a telephone call at 7 am--a very loud man, who didn't identify himself, said, "we won't pick up your old mattresses". When questioned, he said they don't pick up soiled mattresses. We told him they aren't soiled at all--always used mattresses pads. He again said they won't take them --(on our sales receipt it says "pick up and take away"). We called the store when it opened and they called us back and said it was worked out and they would take the old mattresses. Against our better judgment we let them talk us into allowing the delivery. What a nightmare! The guys who showed up, said "we're not taking your mattresses" at the door. We showed him they haven't a spot on them. He could see the whole mattress because my husband had taken the mattresses and box springs off the frames and carried them close to the front door, to make it easier on them! We called the store and one of the delivery guys talked to one of the salesmen at Sears. So then one guy started carrying the mattresses out, while the other one stood over me, berating me at length, about how we and the store were wrong. At the end, they got mad, brought our mattresses back in, and left--without leaving the new mattresses. We went to the store the next day, and talked to the manager, who, although, he tried, could not resolve the problem. His solution? We could call someone and pay to have our old mattresses recycled, and they'd have the same company come out to deliver the new ones! All this, in spite of the ads and receipt specifying pick up and disposal of our old ones. Turns out that like so many other *** companies, Sears outsources their deliveries, and the deliverymen are flown in from all over to country to work! Never heard of such a thing! In hindsight, this was evident by the delivery guys being loud, rude, and speaking in a foreign language in front of us--obviously making comments about us. What a bizarre, upsetting, and frustrating experience! We, of course, cancelled the order. Didn't seem to bother the company--guess a $1,300.00 sale isn't enough to worry about. Sears? NEVER AGAIN!

Sears - Would give ZERO stars, if possible

The appliance department at Sears, Silverdale is the WORST!! Bought $3,300 Kenmore refrigerator. Stopped working after three years. First service appt the tech was a no-show. After FOUR service calls with four different techs, refrigerator still not fixed. Now being told "to call somebody else and stop calling them." The only thing they managed to do was scratch my hardwood floors. Lack of customer service was astonishing. Made calls all the way up to corporate. They do not care. Out the $3,300, money for service calls, and had to buy new refrigerator. Will NEVER buy anything from any Sears store again.

Sears - Scarf Review

Details
Not impressed with the customer service at Sears Canada Thunder Bay, On store. Purchased two men's scarfs where they were advertised as buy one get 50% of second item. At check out was charged for the full price of both scarfs, I told the clerk about the buy one get 50% off sign and she told me that it does not apply to items ending in .97. I informed her that there is no mention of that on the sign so we proceeded to walk all the way to the scarf section where she checked the sign and then told me they must be there by mistake! Even though there were many other scarfs there under the 50% off sign ending in .97? Then she said I guess I will give it to you like she is doing me a favour ? I told her the advertised sign is there I guess you would give it to me for what the sign says. Not impressed that I had to go through all that to prove what the advertised sign said and then to get attitude and a lecture about their products ending in .97 Whatever happened to advertising items for what they are and not trying to mislead people with your "fine print"!

Sears in Toledo, Ohio - Return Policy

1.0
Details
A 30 day return policy has just been implemented by Sears. I wanted to purchase a piece of clothing for a Christmas gift for a grandchild and when asked for a gift receipt was told that it had to be returned within 30 days from date of purchase. I told her that Christmas was 2 months away and that I could not guarantee that she would like the item so if it could not be returned then I would just not purchase it. I called customer service and was told this is the policy. I told them I would never purchase anything from a Sears store again or go to one in the future and she should pass that on to her manager!

Sears in Los Angeles, California - New purchased refrigerator June 2015 that's gone bad

My newly purchased refrigerator has done bad....food has spoiled...and after making four call to repair....unable to get a reasonable appointment. First call was on October 8.....second call October 10....third call....October 12.....fourth call...October 13. I requested to speak with the manager of the repair department and after what appeared almost 10 minutes being put on hold, no response. At the time of purchase of my refrigerator....I paid for a five year protection. Nothing is working so far but the freezer compartment and it sounds as if it's going out with the sound of the loud noise. All other food, drinks, etc. that was in the refrigerator has spoiled due to lack of coldness in other parts of the refrigerator. I have purchased products from Sears since the early seventies and always had faith in the products but as of now I don't plan to purchase anything else. I am sure you don't care.. Thank you for your time regarding this matter.

I wonder if you realize, that Sears doesn't MAKE refrigerators. DON'T complain about Sears for your fridge not working... complain about the MANUFACTURER.
