Sears - Protection Plan Review from Rayville, Missouri

SEARS home appliance protection plan is a JOKE!!! Do NOT waste your time nor MONEY!! It has taken over 2 MONTHS to get then to fix my dryer and washer. When the tech finally came yesterday, while fixing my washer he broke a switch now I can't use it at all. He said "sorry" and they said they would call to schedule to come fix it. They did for almost 4 weeks out!! This totally UNEXCEPTABLE!!! I WILL NEVER BUY ANY SEARS PRODUCT AGAIN!!!

Sears in East Hampton, New York - Shop Vac

Purchased a Sears Vac in Oct of 2014, removed it out of box in spring of 2015 as I was away for the winter. Used it less than 3 hours it stopped working so I called Sears to honor their one year warranty. Made two separate calls each lasting more than one and one half hours, spoke to more than a dozen people and departments, got nowhere except more and more frustrated. Was finally disconnected after almost two hours on second call, life is too short to suffer through this kind of service. I'll take the loss but will never buy anything from Sears again.

Bye, bye Sears! You stink!

If could give Sears minus stars would. We purchased a top of the line washing machine on-line from Sears including the 5-year warranty. They were scheduled to deliver on a Sunday between 5:30 p.m and 7:30 p.m.(really). At 9:30 p.m..and no delivery and no phone call, I called and after holding for 30 minutes I was told that we were #18 of #20 deliveries. Beyond that, they supposedly "couldn't" give me any other information......if they were still going to deliver that night....what time they stopped delivering.....etc. When I asked them who WOULD know, they said they didn't know that either....they didn't have that information. I waited up until midnight,, and of course, no delivery. I called fuming the next morning, and was PROMISED without fail delivery the following Friday between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m When I called Thursday night to verify the delivery date and time, I was told it had been changed to 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.(but of course we hadn't been notified of this change). Furious, I asked for a manager. After holding for 20 minutes, they disconnected me. My husband I realized if it was this difficult to get a new product delivered, we were going to have NO chance if something ever needed to be fixed. I called back again and CANCELLED my order. The associate told me that she would give me 50,000 Sears points if didn't cancel and told her that those points were USELESS since I would NEVER be purchasing from Sears again. Another bit of information....every single call was routed overseas. You are talking to people who don't even know where you hometown is, nor do they care. Bye, bye Sears! You deserve to go bankrupt. Thank goodness we didn't buy this machine. What would I do with a 5-year warranty from a company that is probably not going to be around much longer. As a happy after note, I researched "Best Appliance Store" companies, and found ABT. Wow! They have blown my socks off with their customer service. They are family owned, and CARE about their customer. You talk to a real person in THIS country. No wonder Consumer Reports has ranked them #1 six years in a row, and Sears LAST. .So, so happy.

Sears in Weymouth, Massachusetts - Left of credit card

I was on line ordering a dryer working with their chat room. I was given confirmation about the dimensions and placed the order. I then went on line to the manufacturer and found the chat person was wrong. I went onto the chat room again and was told they could not help me. I needed to call some other dept. I explained it had been less than 10 min since I ordered and they said it did not matter. I spent the next 5 hours trying to get the order canceled and they refused to send me an email confirmation. The sale confirmation was within seconds. They refused to refund my credit card for 7 business days. I explained that I did not receive the goods and the order was placed and cancelled in the same 15 minutes. They blamed the bank, the credit card company stating they could NOT refund my card because of these financial entities. I spoke with numerous call centers and they said to go to corp. They however did not have ph#. When I goggled the phone # for Sears corp was another call center. I then saw Ed Lampert listed in the long list of consumer complaints against Sears. I asked for him and was told he does not address consumer complaints. Sears believes they can take money without providing the goods or service. They think they are above the law and that when I gave them permission to charge my account for the dryer it was their money. I said but I did not and will not get the dryer and they said we keep the money and collect the interest for 7 days and there is nothing you can do about it.

Order costume through sears.com size was unclear and CSR thought they verified it was in fact a toddler size (asked them to triple check and they were extremely courteous). Order came wrong size, no return information, no webpage information for seller - nothing in email or in package. Finally had to have sears get involved in requesting return after 6 follow-up emails asking for a return auth # from 7th ave and now they want to charge 20% restocking fee and not pay for return shipping. The restocking fee criteria on their own webpage was not met on any of the 3 levels posted (bout before October, not a multiple and not over. Horrible CSR - don't bother with them (Costume cheap looking to boot).

Caution about Sears delievery or 3rd party delievery company as sears calls it is a nightmare to deal and sears has no say this company does what they want. Drivers lie about delivering and never showing up.

Sears Service Rip off

Call SEARS REPAIR for front loader washer smell and has mold growing in it. Sears sent a repair person. Charged $120.00 to add a washing machine cleaning tablet. It still smell and has mold what a rip off $120.00 for one single washing machine tablet. I guess sear does not value me as a consumer that they felt this service price was correct. I request for mold removal and got an expense tablet instead. never again. watch out for shady sear repairman. Call Sears complaint dept they did not care made three phone call they make a ceas number and tell you someone will call you back. call the third time talk to Vincent asked to speak to someone above him he refused to let me talk to anyone. What a joke for customer service. Had 1st delivered 9/15/15. Delivery guys came in an took old one out in the yard. They then unloaded new one from truck and unwrapped it. New one had three dents in the refrigerator side door. They said I should accept it and they would bring a new one. We refused. They called their rep who offered us $150, $250, and $350 sears gift cards to accept as is. We refused. She spoke very broken english and was hard to understand. She then says new one will be delivered Sat 9/19/15. I told her I would need to get back to her and she hung up on me. They put frig back on truck and left. We went to leave a little later and there was styrofoam, latex gloves, paper and a large bolt left in our driveway. We were able to accept delivery 9/19 and Frig was delivered. This time they unloaded first and we inspected exterior which didn't show any problems. One of the delivery crew asked to see where frig would go and we showed him it was replacing our current frig and old frig was to go to basement. It immediately said we are not taking it to basement even though we were told by salesman it would be. I then told him to put the new back on the truck and we would go elsewhere for a frig. They then agreed to move it. After it was hooked up and they left my wife and I took all shelves and drawers out of frig side to clean. We noticed that the deli bin had 4 scratches on the front and there was several yellowed lines on the interior cabinet. I called the store and was told the salesman and manager were both on vacation for a week and to call customer service. Again we have to speak to someone you can't understand and we feel doesn't care. One salesman at the store said we could get a 10% discount on frig but we had to go to store after second one was delivered. We doubt that will happen based on our experience with Sears to this point. He also told us to contact the delivery people and see if they could compensate us for the inconvenience. They told us us we would get a $80 sears gift card within 48 hrs by email. After a week later and probably 6 phone calls we have not received the gift card and were told several different reasons why not. Called the store again and both salesman and Mgr were still on vacation. Was told a person named Russ would be the one to offer options related to the second damaged frig. Have left a message for him twice with a coworker and he has not returned call after 2 days. Everyone we have dealt with refers you to someone else. They all want you to believe they care. We will be returning this piece of junk as soon as we get new one from different vendor. By junk I mean the yellowing, scratches, loud humming, and pitiful ice maker. Moral of story, drive as fast as you can by Sears if you are looking for appliances. On second thought if you need anything. There is a reason why Sears is close to going under and we just experienced it.

Sears in Memphis, Tennessee - Product Damaged - Credit not Received

The whole process has been time consuming. For the actual bed I wouldn't know if it's good or not. After I waited two weeks to receive the bed, at delivery it was completely damaged/destroyed, I refused at delivery. To top it off it's been another two weeks and they tell me I need to wait for the delivery people/company to get it back to Sears before I get my order of $500. + refunded. I ordered the Bed on 8/11/15 it's now 9/9/15 - no bed and no refund. Not happy. It's now 9/22/15 still no refund, still very unhappy with Sears.
