Sears only honors extended warranties, not 'ordinary' warranties

I Purchased a Kenmore water softener direct from Sears less than three years ago. The owner's manual from Sears offers a 10 years warranty against leaks. Yes, I still have all the original paperwork. I called the Sears repair number and then Sears repair tells me they ONLY send repair service for Extended Warranty customers, that I have to find and pay for for my own repairman and repairs. Only afterwards, would Sears consider talking with me. The Warranty clearly says they will replace leaking tanks for ten years - it does not mention the Sears repair does not do warranty repairs

I called sears to order a part for my washing machine on 8/9. At first they told me the part was going to be 59.99. I should have just hung up the phone right then because everywhere else listed it online for between 28 to 30 dollars. I told him this, and he dropped the price down to 32 and change plus shipping. It took 5 business days to get the part in. I was told that it would be delivered by UPS. I received an email from UPS stating that it had been delivered. After 20 minutes of asking the neighbors if they signed for it, calling the apt office, and calling my wife I still couldn't find the package. I finally discovered it was delivered by UPS via USPS? I went to the mailbox and retrieved the package. When I got back to the apartment and opened it up, guess what was inside... Absolutely nothing at all! I called sears to tell them about this, and they said they would ship another one but that it would take another 5 to 7 business days. I told them I wanted overnight shipping, and they said they don't do that, but if they did it would cost extra! I asked for a refund of my order, and I will never shop at another sears again!

I bought a pair of shoes from Sears not knowing it was a third party company when I receive the shoes they were a size 8 which they said but no way I couldn't even get them on my feet they are a size 7 or smaller I called Sears to return them they had to get ahold of the third party company third party company wants me to send another pair but after seeing the quality of the shoe I would not order from this company ever again I am mad about not getting a response I even told them that they were recorded if they record me them I was told to turn off any recording devices and he kept arguing with me to turn them off so I said I sent him off which I didn't I have that I'm recording so now I have a peer's to sit in my room boxed up to send back but they want me to pay $11.53 to ship this product back when the product only cost me 15 bucks now I don't understand why that I'm not getting a free refund my money for sale for coming back free when the shoe size was completely wrong in the product

Worst experience purchasing anything in my life. Went into my local sears to buy a stacked washer dryer unit. Saleswoman helping basically blew me off and said come back tomorrow because she was going home for the day, but still wanted to make the sale. Next day I dealt with a different sales woman, convinced me that the stackable unit in the store was the same or better then the laundry center I wanted to buy. She also talked me into opening a sears card to get free delivery and six months interest free. Delivery team finally scheduled a time over a week after purchase. They did not show up the first day they said they would, which I took off work to deal with. Next time they showed up two hours late and that it wouldn't fit. I had measured and knew it would and told them to leave it. Called the delivery manager explained the circumstances and she did finally send competent delivery team that got it put in. After they left realized the doors don't open right. Got my first bill and was charged 22.4% interest. Sears sucks !!!! Will never use them again!!! Be warned!!!!!

DO NOT EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM SEARS. We bought several appliances and was charged $240 for them to set up an install. The receipt says we will hear from an installer within 24-48 hours. It's been over two weeks and we haven't heard anything. We then hear that the appliances will be delivered on Friday. We ask about the installer and they say they don't know anything about that. We ask about getting it scheduled and got connected with someone else. This happened two more times. We ask for our $240 back and say we'll contact an installer ourselves. They say they can't do that. Transferred to yet another person, who says that she'll take care of it. Three days later, no call back from that person. IF delivery comes on Friday we will refuse it and likely cancel the order. No wonder in the movie Bull Durham they make it sound like Sears employees are the lowest form of life.

Sears in Stamford, Connecticut - Biggest Rip Offs

I had purchased a water heater from sears along with an installation fee. When the install came with the heater he said it would be another $405.00 to do the extra installation needs for my area. When I told him we had already paid for installation we were told that we could pay the fee or he would drop off the water heater and leave it to us to install it. Sears consumer complaint dept. in god knows what country basically told me we didn't have to agree with the charges.Then who would install it? Don't use Sears.

Do not shop online with a SEARS gift card

I was happy to receive a birthday gift card in the mail and placed an order on 8/8/15. I called the Sears number for my local store to ask about a specific coffee pot and make sure it was in stock. I ended up speaking with someone nationally and was told the local store was unable to answer the phone. I was told the coffee pot was in stock. I actually called before I ordered it to make sure of this! The salesperson assured me several times it was in stock so I ordered it. Time spent on phone: 10 minutes One hour later: Then I am told it is out of stock? Within one hour of ordering it I was told in an email it was not in stock and I would be refunded. I called the Sears number and was told the cards would be refunded in 3-5 days at most and should have a full refund by 8/12 at the very latest. I asked that the item be sent to me from one of the other stores in New Hamsphire; I was told I cannot do that either. So now I have no coffee pot and no money on my gift card? Why was my gift card and credit card charged if there was no order placed to begin with? Time spent on phone: 15-20 minutes. I see that today (8/11/15) my credit card was refunded for the balance of $14.99. I assumed my gift card was refunded as well. I called and checked with two Sears staff about this. I was on the phone another 20 minutes. I was then told that my gift card would NOT be refunded for the $25 and I would receive a new gift card by 8/21/15. WHAT? I had never been told this before either. I am now suspecting SEARS never will actually refund my gift card. This is absolutely the most terrible customer service I have ever received. I was looking forward to a new coffee pot for my birthday since mine just broke. Now, I have an empty gift card and no item. I now have to go buy one at a different store with cash and hope I get my money back. There is no reason SEARS cannot email me a $25 gift card or credit me my old card. I am very unhappy about this. Not only am I unhappy but my mother in law, who sent me the gift card, is very upset as well.

Sears finally determined my gift card was lost in the mail after 25 days so they mailed me a new card. I received it on 9/10/15. Took about 31 days for them to refund me for their error.

I purchased a 9,000.00 kate black adjustable bed. There were 7 delivery appointments made and sears never came out and delivered it. Got a refund and went to ashley furniture. I am still beyond pissed over this. Sears delivery service sucks. Before this I bought a new stove. They delivered 3 damaged ones and offered me 50.00 to keep it. Yeah, sure you *** No way. Be fore that a purchased a new washer and dryer. They delivered 3 of them for being defective. They kept flooding my floor. Finally picked out a samsung instead. terrible home delivery people.Sears does not care about their customers. Thats why people dont go there anymore.

Sears - Repair Review from Stone Mountain, Georgia

A very pissed off consumer! My refridgerator isn't even two years old & this is the second time I've had to get it repaired. Sears sent two different repairmen & all they did was tell me what I already knew,(MY REFRIDGERATOR IS BROKEN.) They told me it would be five weeks before my refridgerator would be fixed. As I explained to the woman in customer service I'm a mother with small children, five weeks is just to long of wait; her response to me was go to Wal-Mart & get a mini-fridge.
