Sears - Mattress Review from Chandler, Arizona

After spending quite awhile at Sears with a sales associate explaining what health issues my husband had and what would be the best mattress for his specific issues a week later the wrong mattress was delivered. The sales person rang up the wrong item (which I understand mistakes happen) but when I called to reschedule for the correct mattress to be delivered the lady with customer service was super rude and proceeded to tell me our mattress wouldnt be delivered for over a week. We live in a big city so Im not quite sure what the problem is.......I explained to her I again would have to take time off from work to be there when it was to be delivered.......she could care less!

Sears review in Louisville, Kentucky: Bogus service agreement on nordic track elliptical

1.0
Details
I ordered a nordic track elliptical online. I clicked yes for the service agreement 184.99 cost. When I tried to activate the agreement I was on the phone for hours and no one could help me, not sears, nordic track or the service company. I am waiting for the refund and will return the elliptical to the local store since they sold me a false service agreement. This was the main reason I bought from Sears. Horrible customer service in trying to resolve this issue. I have to load a heavy item and return to get money back, very disappointed in Sears.

PURCHASE A VERY EXPENSIVE KENMORE DISHWASHER FROM SEARS ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO. LUCKILY WE TOOK OUT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. THUS FAR WE HAVE BEEN WITHOUT A WORKING DISHWASHER FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS. I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MANY HOURS HAVE BEEN SPENT TRYING TO RESOLVE ISSUES WITH CS. APPARENTLY, NO ONE DEPT. TALKS OR EVEN HAS ACCESS TO INFO IN OTHER DEPARTMENTS. I'VE TRIED TO GET A SUPERVISOR ON MANY CALLS AND WAS TOLD THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY. ALL THE MESS UPS THAT HAVE BEEN MADE ARE TOO DETAILED TO LIST. HOWEVER, THE TOPPERS WAS CALLING CORPORATE TODAY A VERY ABRUPT RECEPTIONIST 1st SENT ME BACK TO THE PEOPLE IN REPAIR AND SERVICE I HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN DEALING WITH - WHEN I CALLED CORPORATE BACK AGAIN - AGAIN ABRUPTLY TRANSFERRED TO VOICE MAIL. WE'LL SEE HOW LONG OR IF ANYONE CALLS ME BACK. MY ADVISE WOULD BE TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!!!!!!!

Sears review in Storrs Mansfield, Connecticut: Delivery problems with 3rd party delivery service with online purchase from outlet store

i have been trying for 3 weeks to have a refrigerator bought at the sears outlet store in shrewsbury mass. to be set up in my kitchen. The one they delivered is in our garage- we had to take the old one out ourselves they took the door- it has been sitting in our drive for 2 weeks. They say they only come to ct on Mondays- I constantly check to see if I have a delivery ticket they say yes -guarantee delivery on Monday-- I check the time --they are not here. We came back from vacation early--we are putting our house on the market there is no fridge in the kitchen-we can't do they have to take the doors off. They are a 3rd party delivery company and they are blowing us off --they "stink" This has been going on for 3 weeks. The delivery company doesn't pay attention to the store managers. I have spent a lot of money at sears over the years, appliances, tools, lawn mowers, barbecues, pation sets--no more if this is the kind of service i get--believe me I am advertising this among as many people as I can--even the local newspaper

Sears review in Anaheim, California: Unauthorized charges

delivery/online team would not go over pricing for refrigerator exchange and went ahead and charged my card without me agreeing to the exchange. no one was able to provide me with any information on the charges and can not provide a transaction record. they keep saying someone would call and go over pricing before they complete the exchange but have never received a call. they keep saying they would give me 5% off for using sears card, discounts for being shop your way member, but when i checked my sears credit online, there was a charge i didn't anticipated. if i knew what the difference was, i would have exchange for a less expensive item. very frustrating dealing with their level of customer service.

Sears review in Tucker, Georgia: THIS REFRIGERATOR IS PIECE OF JUNK!

Update by user Aug 19, 2015

We are still waiting to have the brand new fridge repaired. They rescheduled the appointment, then sent the wrong part, then rescheduled again.

Original review posted by user Jul 06, 2015

We purchased a Kenmore Elite 24 cu.ft. Bottom Freezer refrigerator, model# 78043, in Feb, 2015 and installed it in late April, 2015 for our new kitchen renovation. We loved the appearance of the unit and the space available inside. We had been noticing for the past 3 or 4 weeks that our food was going bad and an unusual odor inside. At first, we thought we had just purchased some out of date food. We placed boxes of baking soda inside for the odor. We installed a refrigerator thermometer inside both compartments and began monitoring the temperatures. The temp range in the fridge was 43 - 54 degrees, and the freezer was 6-20 degrees even though the settings were at the recommended 0 and 37. Please be aware if you purchase this unit that the display only shows the setting temps, not the actual temps. Two months after being put into service, this unit has stopped cooling the refrigerator/freezer compartments adequately. In the end, all of our food had to be discarded. Initially, Sears service suggested they would replace the defective unit because it was so new, then said we had to schedule a service call 22 days from now. We purchased this item based primarily on the Kenmore name. That was obviously a mistake.

WHAT HAPPENED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT SEARS?????

I have a Sole treadmill that is not working so I contacted Sears in March, 2015 to schedule the repair as I have warranty coverage on the machine. A technician came to my house several times, but the parts department kept sending the wrong part so the repair could not be completed. Thereafter, I received a phone call that the treadmill could not be repaired because Sears was having trouble getting the part and, instead, I was given a $1,200 credit to purchase a new treadmill. I went to my local Sears store several times to purchase a new treadmill. I did not like the treadmills in my local Sears store so I wanted to purchase a treadmill online. The employees at the store told me I needed to speak to a manager to do this and a manager was unavailable on the numerous occasions I visited the store. As a result, I contacted Sears customer service to place the order for me. I was told I had to purchase the replacement through the warranty exchange department as they were responsible for giving me the credit. I tried to purchase the treadmill multiple times through the warranty exchange department, but could not get an order confirmation after many attempts of contacting customer service. I was told that the department through which they are required to place the order can only be contacted via email and they could not get in touch with them directly. I returned to my local Sears store and finally found someone that was willing to place the order for me. We scheduled delivery for June 15, 2015. When no one contacted me that day, I called Sears and was told that the order was entered incorrectly and I was not scheduled for home delivery. The order was voided and reentered for home delivery. Finally, the treadmill I ordered arrived at my house on June 20, 2015. However, instead of a professional installer setting up the treadmill, the delivery guys did it. As a result, the treadmill was not set up properly. It squeaks and shakes when you run on it and the television does not work. Considering this is a brand new, $1,800 treadmill, this is completely unacceptable. I called back my local Sears store and they scheduled a replacement treadmill to be delivered to my house. However, when they came to my house on the delivery date (July 3, 2015), I was told that we were scheduled for a repair and not a replacement. Even after this supposed repair, the treadmill still squeaks and shakes and the television does not work. Come to find out, the delivery man was not an actual repairman as Nordic Track repairs its own products, not Sears, and the delivery man was simply too lazy to bring in the new treadmill. I called back Sears customer service yet again to explain what transpired and was told that the truck would come back out to my house that same day (July 3, 2015) with the new treadmill, as the replacement treadmill was supposed to be on the truck. However, after waiting at my house until 6pm, no one called or showed back up so I contacted customer service once again. Delivery was rescheduled for July 6th and I was supposed to receive $100 credit from Sears for my inconvenience. I received the usual phone call and email confirming my delivery date for July 6, 2015. However, Sears failed to show up yet again on that date. When I contacted customer service again, I was told that there is no scheduled delivery for my area on that date and I'd need to reschedule again. Further, I did not receive the $100 store credit I was promised. Here I am four months and counting without a functioning treadmill in my gym and about $630 less in my bank account, not to mention the aggravation and frustration I've endured in having to contact Sears repeatedly to get this straightened out, to no avail. Do yourself a favor and avoid Sears at all costs.

Sears - Bed Frame Review from Coatesville, Pennsylvania

1.4
Details
Ordered an expensive bed frame and mattress through sears.com. I had not taken delivery when the price dropped 200$ on the frame. I asked sears customer service if I could get the difference. Answer: No. I could cancel the order. So I cancelled the frame and reordered online only to realized that I had selected queen, not full. So I called and asked sears customer service if the could switch the size in the system. Answer (after 15 minutes on hold): No. I'd have to cancel and reorder. So I cancelled the frame order only to realized that the stated hold time on my credit card (3-5 days) meant that my card was maxed out. So I called back to cancel the mattress and was told the credit card would clear in 10-15 business days. Why are they holding my money? I will NEVER by anything at sears again. NEVER! Since the stores look like a ghost town, it is probably for the best as I predict the will go out of business soon.
