Sears in Dracut, Massachusetts - Terrible service

I bought a brand new snow blower in January of 2014. I used it for two snow storms in February of 2014.We had snow months later in November and I used it. The machine worked fine. I store it in my shed. In January of 2015 I could not start it. I could not even pull the rope or use the electric start because it felt like the engine was bonded up. I called repair services and the tech they sent proceeded to berate me and tell me how I messed it up and that it isn't under any warranty. I told him it is under warranty until 2016. He just looked at me and said that he doesn't know that. I asked him to stop berating and belittling me and if he could fix it it. He then went inside his truck for ten minutes. He came out and said to me" I told them that you are a very nice guy, but, they said it was your fault so I will not fix your machine. I called Sears and talked with numerous people. Everyone I talked with gave me a reference number that when I did call back the numbers were not valid reference numbers.I wrote to Sears to no avail.I finally got to talk with someone in customer service and they told me that the repair tech told them that because of my neglect they would not repair it. She also told me that as far as Sears goes it is in my hands and not theirs. I have been a customer with Sears for over 40 years. That just ended. I will never purchase anything at Sears again.

Sears - Smart Tv Review from Brewster, New York

1.0
Details
Two months ago,my 95 yr old mother purchased a smart tv from Sears for $300. Today the tv would not turn on. She called the Danbury store and an 800 number and was spoken to rudely and disrespectfully. Not quite sure how this will be resolved, but I will not be purchasing from Sears or Kmart again. I shop at Sears or Kmart at least 4 times a month. Clothes, appliances and housewares. I will be shopping at local merchants from now on. The prices are a little higher but the respect and quality of service is worth it. Dealing with Sears service is soul crushing.

Sears - Stove Review from Elyria, Ohio

1.8
Details
On February 9, 2015 I attempted to purchase a stove from sears.com. After several failed attempts over several days I gave it up and went to the physical story and paid for a stove with the same card which was denied online. The following week I was looking at my bank register online and saw a charge from sears.com for an order which was never completed. I contacted them and the associate was unable to locate an existing order or one which had been canceled. He told me I would have to contact my bank regarding the charges. 2 weeks later and sears is still refusing to refund the money. The bank is working on disputing the charges, but since sears has no record of a purchase they refuse to acknowledge what is plainly in front of them. I am beyond frustrated with this issue and I am hoping that it will be resolved soon. If sears does not refund me the money they have taken I will have to pursue other legal avenues to do so.

I'm dealing with same issue tonight, they charged my debit card over $3,100.00 and no order went through. I've spent well over an hour on the phone with them.

Sears - Marketing Calls Review from Larchmont, New York

Sears co. is constantly hounding us twice a day on our landline phone for eye prescription service when we already informed them that we are not interested they keep calling us with their automated phone line once before 8:30 am and then again around 8:00 i would not mind but this line is NOT from a real person to even respond to it is completely automatic and completely annoying if we choose to answer this call then Sears will have our home address as well I will take my complaint to the Better Business Bureau

Sears in Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Rude, late, rescheduled Delivery still not resolved

On 1/31 purchased $1600 Frig & $1500 in mattresses. Delivery called to reschedule cuz mattress was not available. Resched but delivery never showed on 2/13 and i was stuck sleeping on floors. Called to rescheduled. Actual deliv finally showed 2/18 but was a horrible nightmare with very rude workers, 1 mattr was damaged, 1 boxspring did not fit, knocked over nightstand. Workers arrived 3 hours late and complained the entire time. They refused to take back damage mattr and boxspring. I rescheduled pickup but showed up on wrong day eventho i received email confirmation the date. Re-re-re schedule cancelled cuz they did not have the replacement mattr. I called 2 store managers, spoke with sales rep and I still do not have resolution and it is 2/25/2015. Who would ever buy from Sears again?

Update by user Feb 25, 2015

I got $83 back on a $119 saw. So I paid $36 for the saw. If I wasn't off in the winter months I would not have had the time to spend 55 minutes on the line with customer service along with writing an email.

Sears in Pembroke Pines, Florida - Terrible Customer Service

Total Incompetency I ordered a pair of “Diehard” shoes from Sears today via their website. As a “Shop Your Way” member, the site noted that I could order the shoes and have them waiting for me to try on when I arrived at the store. I was instructed to go to a section in the Women’s Department when I arrived at the store. I received an email advising me that my order was ready to be tried on. I drove the seven miles to the store. The shoes listed for $65.00 retail and were on sale for $9.88. I figured that was a pretty good deal. It turns out it was too good to be true! I arrived at the store and went to the designated area to try on my shoes. The area where my shoes were supposed to be was completely empty – nothing there. I was able to find a salesperson who appeared to have no idea that Sears even offered the “try” service. She was nice enough to call someone from the Shoe Department who came over to help. That salesperson led me back to the Shoe Department where I located the last pair in my size still on the shelf. Luckily someone else didn’t buy them off the shelf before I got there. I went to pay for the shoes and the clerk told me that they were $35.00, not $9.88 as was displayed on Sears’ website when I purchased them via the internet. I showed her the barcode on my email that contained my order. Unfortunately, her scanner “did not seem to read” the barcode. After wasting over twenty minutes, I left the store and returned home. I found a “screen shot” of the order I placed clearly stating $9.88 and immediately called the Store Manager, a Mr. Amado. I told him of the horrible experience and waste of time. He told me he would look into it and call me back. He called me back about 15 minutes later to basically tell me that there was nothing he could do about it, he could only sell me the shoes for the $35.00, not $9.88. I told him that I wanted to go back to the store to show him my emails and the “screen shot” of my order. I drove the seven miles back to the store and showed him the emails and “screen shot”. His answer was simply that he could not honor the price and that I would have to deal with the “internet department”. I left the store and called Sears Customer Service. I spoke with Fernando, who told me he was a Supervisor. I told him my story. He did not seem impressed or moved by what I told him. He said that he was the highest level that I could speak with. He was totally worthless to deal with and most uncaring. I have since emailed the Sears Holding corporate officers and I will update you as to their response. My experience with Sears today showed me two of the most uncaring and incompetent (in my opinion) employees that I have dealt with in over fifty (50) years of shopping at Sears. Neither one demonstrated even one ounce of common sense (in my opinion). It is so sad to see what has happened to a once great company.

Sears in Concord, North Carolina - 100,000 mile waranty tires that dont last nore than 35,000 mile

i bought expencive tires from sears with a 100,000 mile warranty that wore out at 35,000 miles. This is rediculious that i have to pay a prorated amount that is more than the tires cost originally. Any other company would replace the tires for free with the warranty at no cost but sears wont. If i wanted cheap tires i would have bought cheap tires. All sears wants is to take peoples money and then expect you to fork out more money to fix their mistake. Dont buy tires from them or have your car service with them, they will take advantage of you and then say oh well you have to pay more to get the problem resolved. I WILL NEVER TAKE MY VEHICLE TO THEM FOR ANYTHING EVER AGAIN.THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY WILL HANGUP THE PHONE ON YOU WHEN THEY REALIZE THAT YOU ARE RIGHT AND ARE NOT WILLING TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. We bought the warranty but it does no good because they want more money to replace the tires, which isnt fair to the consumer when the tires are only 6 months old and you bought the warranty to protect your self against things like this. Worst company to buy anything from. Stay away from sears auto, evidently they hire people that dont know what they are doing. BAD COMPANY!!!!!!

Delivery team destroyed chandelier and door blinds- Sears refused to reimburse

Sears delivery team, while in the process of delivering a refrigerator, smashed it into my dining room chandelier, virtually destroying the fixture, along with door blinds on my entrance door. Such carelessness and wrecklessness I have never before seen from a retail organization, exceeded only by their lack of accountability. After two months and countless communications with multiple claim departments, I have yet to receive a penny in reimbursement. Not only will Sears not stand behind the product they sell, but apparently they refuse to accept accountability for property damage caused by them or their representatives / agents. !!!!!!!!!!!!!STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM SEARS AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a similar complaint. I ordered a dishwasher over the phone because I was told it was in stock.

I arrived and told they didn't have it. I immediately called to cancel the order which I did and received and email confirmation of the cancellation.

4 days later I called back k and was told they made a mistake and we're extremely sorry for there mess up and would issue me a refund within 24 hours.

7 days later with calls everyday I'm now told the order has not been cancelled, but they will do it immediately.

It will take 48 hours for that to process and then I an expect a refund in 3-5 business days.

So 3 weeks after Sears took my money, I "might" have it.

I will never shop at Sears again, and recommend that with the company probably going out of business soon, you not either.
