Sears in Los Angeles, California - LUDICROUS Refund Policy (what a PIP OFF)

1.0
Details
I recently purchased a refrigerator and microwave from Sears. ONE day prior to delivery (5 days after I ordered) I received a robo call that my order was out of stock and would not be delivered for at least 3 additional weeks. I called and cancelled the order. They advised me that my credit card would be credited in 7-10 business days (it was such a long time I asked if they were mailing me a check...). It is now 12 business days since I cancelled the order and still no refund! I called again and was now advised that it would be yet another 5 business days for the credit to be actually posted. I am grateful that my credit limit is substantial enough that I was able to make another purchase elsewhere prior to receiving my refund. I will pray for the paycheck-to-paycheck single mother that cannot put her children's food in a fridge while Sears makes a profit from her hard-earned cash for 3 whole weeks. I WILL NEVER EVER buy anything at Sears again.

Sears in Ashburn, Virginia - FUMBLED my TIRE order, REFUSED TO ISSUE REFUND

1.0
Details
Bought tires online.Called to confirm appointment, no order at store. Got the run around for hours, SEARS said my bank never released funds. Demand to cancel order, sears refuses. Call my bank, they tell me SEARS has a hold on the funds and they can go back in my account as soon as they release them. SEARS is unwilling to do this. Have to wait for a refund and to get tires on my car because SEARS wants to hold onto my money. No wonder theyre going broke, I hope theyre gone soon they are no longer a viable asset

Purchased an extended warranty for our washing machine. Needless to say it broke down and required repair. The repair tech came out in a week's time and said he thought it was the bottom control board and needed to order the part. He "hoped" that would take care of...

Can't exchange despite item being covered in Sears labels

I received a Dewalt tool set for Christmas from my brother in law. He wasn't aware I already had one of the items in the so I attempted to return the item for an exchange to a Craftsman item I've been wanting which was the identical price. I was told in a very degrading tone by the cashier that I couldn't return without receipt. I dismissed the employees negativity at first but when I approached him again to ask a further question about the policy I was just given a glaring look and told, "what did I tell you, no receipt, no return." I returned home and contacted my family member about a receipt and after a couple days of searching he informed me he wasn't able to locate it. This item has multiple labels on it that appear to show when and what store it was delivered to either by the manufacturer or by Sears themselves. It clearly allows a timeline to be figured when it was in a store and when it would've been purchased. If this item didn't have all the Sears labeling I could understand the return being rejected but this is a large item that I wouldn't have been able to "smuggle" out of the store under a jacket, it's covered intra-Sears labeling, and I'm trying to simply exchange for an item of the same price and one that's a Sears owned brand, Craftsman. I've been a loyal Sears customer for a long time, and a loyal Craftsman user for a long time. This experience has me reconsidering that. There are plenty of other options available to me to spend my money in.

Sears in Burlington, Ontario - Incomplete information given by sales clerk, beware of small print.

1.4
Details
At the end of December we went to our local Sears store to purchase a dishwasher. I had done my homework and knew exactly what I wanted. First of all, the Boxing Day sales were in effect. There was 1 sales person on duty on a Saturday, trying to service several customers. We waited patiently while she attended to a couple who were considering a series of appliances. The other customers ahead of us left out of frustration. We took the sales person right to the appliance we wanted. She wrote it up and after advising us of the delivery fee we opted to pick it up ourselves. She advised we could pick it up the following Wednesday. No other information was given. At the time of the sale we also opted to purchase the 5 year extended warranty. The sales person advised us that if we didn't use the warranty, once it expired we would contact Sears and they would send us a coupon for the amount of the warranty ($247) to be used to purchase anything in the store. Once we returned home and read the brochure we found out we have to spend 2X the amount of the coupon ($500) in order to take advantage of the refund. THIS WAS NOT TOLD TO US AT THE TIME OF THE SALE! My husband went to Sears the following Wednesday to pick up the dishwasher at 11:30 a.m. "Sorry Sir, the time available for pickup on a Wednesday is after 4:30 p.m. I'll bet the sales clerk did not tell you." Indeed she did not so we had to make another trip back to the store the following day. I will be contacting the store manager with my complaints once I can locate who to speak to.

Sears in Clearwater, Florida - Horrible Customer service

I submitted an order on line from Sears Outlets in Clearwater, Florida. I wanted the appliances for a new home we were building. So far I have spent hours trying to get this order delivered in a correct and timely manner. The order had a refrigerator, washer and dryer on it. Sears split the order and the W&D came from the St Petersburg store and the refrigerator came out of the Clearwater store. The St Pete store was marvelous, everything went well. The Clearwater store has the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I scheduled a delivery which was confirmed by phone on 1/15/15 for delivery on 1/16 between 3-6PM. It never made the truck. The management nor anyone else knew about it till it was too late to be delivered on Saturday. Store manager claimed nothing can be done but I have learned that these stores are franchises. This store is owned by one Ahmed El-Hawary. Really hard to track down that one, but I will plaster his name and this class act all over the web. This is only half of the story. This place is a mess!

Microwave is going to burn my house down. Sears won't replace.

2.8
Details
A little over a year and and half ago we purchased a Kenmore over the range microwave for our home. A table top Kenmore model that i replaced was over 25 years old and NEVER had an issue. About 4 months ago while heating up some leftover, there was sparking in the cooking compartment. We fortunately had a Protection agreement and called for service. apparently there was a service bulletin about this particular model and the required parts were ordered and a week later the technician fixed it. Fast forward to two weeks ago. While using the unit, a loud noise was noticeable and no heating was occurring. Another service call resulted in the replacement of the magnetron and capacitor. Testing the system, resulted in no heating and sparking INSIDE the microwave itself. Fearing a fire hazard, I had the service person remove the unit. Today a call to the useless customer service number resulted in a representative basically telling me I was SOL and since there were only two service calls so far and replacement could not be provided and that I would need to have another service person come out to fix. I told them there was no way I was going to allow that unit to be plugged into any outlet in my home for fear of burning down my house and requested that if my only choice was to have someone try and fix it, that they should come and get it. Then fix it outside my home and return it. No can do was the response. When I asked to escalate to someone allowed to make decisions, the reply was there is no one around to do that. A visit to the store is on the schedule for tomorrow and if I get the same BS a call to CEO Ed Lambert is on my agenda for Monday

I can see why Sears might be going out of business. No one wants to deal with them anymore.

Ordered my work boots on the 9th. Need them by Saturday and its Wednesday. Ok fine. No problem. I understand it takes time. But after 5 days of submitting my order I cannot understand why I do not have a tracking number. When I called to ask about my tracking number they said I should be receiving it in 24 hours. Well 24 hours passed. I called again requesting my tracking number. The guy on the phone said that was false information and told me that due to the holidays, tracking numbers are taking longer than usual to process. Ok ***, its Jan 14th not Dec 25th retard! Holidays are long gone. When i first placed the order the estimated delivery time was Jan 15th. Now somehow some way it changed to the 16th. *** Sears! Instead of updating my estimated delivery time why don't you update my *** tracking number ***! Ughhh!! Incompetent retards!
