Sears - Brand new Kenmore refrigerator model 253.6882201 lemon!!

When I 1st purchased it, it started forming snow frost in the freezer almost immediately. Sears repair came out twice to repair it. Both times, it was mis-diagnosed as a sealing issue on the doors. Of course, it still formed snow in the freezer. Well, 13 months after purchase (warranty is 12 months), the blower motor in the freezer goes out. I call sears parts for a new 1 and they estimated 2 months for shipping. I call local appliance store and he says tomorrow or the next day latest! Obviously, this fan was weak when new. This was the reason for the frost in the 1st place. This unit is manufactured with cheap parts!! Never ever buy Sears!!!

Sears in Ponchatoula, Louisiana - Charged and item not available

Ordered through sears thinking this is a good company and it's 3rd party ordered item and was charged and then told it was no longer available! 2months later still waiting on refund of $372.46. I will never do business with Sears in the future. Thought this was a good company to order from did not realize they let third party company's sell under their name. And I will make sure I let all my friends and family that this happened so they in turn will know how I got screwed by Sears. Thus is not the first time I have had a problem with them

Sears - Jacked up prices

I entered an order for some appliances for our new home. There was a sale that was supposed to be from Saturday at 6 pm to Tuesday at 9:00 am. The refrigerator I chose was $1049 when I added to my cart on Saturday night along with a range and washer and dryer. I couldn't find my sears card to place the order so I went back on line Sunday morning to complete the order after I found the card. The price for the same refrigerator was now $1784...over $700 more than the night before. I called to complain but was told that their pricing can change by the hour......are you kidding me! Needless to say these clowns just lost a big appliance order from me.

Sears in Denver, Colorado - Refrigerator repair - horrible experience

We called Sears to repair our side-by-side refrigerator. Tech came within a couple of days, but had to order part - then made us wait almost two weeks to install the part. Tech said new customers got quick appointments - we had to wait. Within two months, the repair failed. When I called, they tried to give me an appointment 16 days away. Not acceptable of course. Shuttled my phone call to a closed department. Spent a LONG TIME calling back to talk to supervisor. Gave them choice of a quicker appointment or a refund. She gave me run around, saying they'll call me back. So beware: Sears means the opposite of service. Call someone else.

Sears in Mentor, Ohio - The controller burned up, for the second time.

Turn on the oven to 350 to bake, the broiler came on instead and over heated, giving me an error code. I had to replace the controller for the second time in two years, the first time it took a year to get the part, I thought the the problem was fixed, but it would seem that the the stove and the controller are both JUNK! I always thought that Kenmore was a great appliance, but I guess that was in the past,nowadays it would seem that if you want anything nice need to get something old, for the garbage their putting out now is just not worth...

The electronics on all appliances have the most problems. You lucky to find a mechanical switch from anybody.

I would look for product recalls.

Sears in New York, New York - Appalling Delivery Experience

Hello Everyone, I am posting my experience with Sears delivery here, I just wished I had read this forum before I ordered from Sears. I ordered a TreadMill from Sears on 8-2-2014 and scheduled the home delivery and setup for today , 8/7/2014. Everything went smooth, I got an automated call from the delivery dept. that the delivery window is today, 8/7/2014 from 1pm-3pm. I will be posting the timelines here as they happen: 1:00pm – My husband leaves the front door open and waits for the delivery guy 1:15pm – I got call from Sears Delivery that no one is answering at my home!! 1:20 – I call their customer service number, the person told me that the delivery person is in the area and she will escalate the matter to the delivery manager to turn back. She said we can expect call back in 30 mins to expect the status. 1:50 – Still no call from them.I called Sears Customer Support, the CSR said : “Driver arrived at my house at 1pm stood there for 15 mins , till 1:15, and decided to leave” CSR didn’t even have the decency to acknowledge that he probably is either blatantly lying or he must have messed up with the address.On the contrary, she said, “There is “no way” the driver drove past the house, and returned without delivering”. 2:00 – I asked to speak to her supervisor, Eli, and after waiting for him for almost (30min ) I finally spoke to him 2:30 – Eli said he is going to write a personal email to the delivery manager. The driver is at Union County in NJ, and my house in is Middlesex county,NJ. So they are not sure if they can deliver today. 3:30pm – No call from anyone yet, still waiting I will post the updates as they happen.

Sears in Kilmarnock, Virginia - Craftsman lawn tractor

I bought a 42 craftsman lawn tractor June 2014. After five hours of operation the drive built came off. After threatening to put the tractor on youtube sears sent new one. After three hours of operation the engine quit. Died. Next day started engine up and it ran for five minutes and again died. I take care of my tools but this mower is crapman thru and thru. Infact talking to sales people they shy people away from this mtd version of mower because they have had so many complaints. Avoid this tractor at all costs. Truly sad because craftsman, at one time was the mower to buy

As you were made well aware, no one is there to refuse delivery. This is for a relocation from New Jersey to Indiana that will not take place till around August 8th, hence the request for delivery on the same day. 9/19/14: Sears has delivered! It took me MANY months and a whole lot of complaining but I finally reached someone who could and did help me.

I just received my replacement mattress. Thank you Sears.

Purchased a mattress from Sears in early March and called to complain within the first few weeks. Told them I was waking with sever back pain and could not even stand straight in the morning. Was told to give it a few more weeks. Why? Not sure. Called again, and was now told it was past the "60 day" warranty, and they never acknowledged my previous call. The mattress has visible sagging and they will not take responsibility for the mattress they sold me. Not months or years later, but weeks. Have filed a mattress complaint and was denied as I apparently didn't have the bed frame per the manufacturers warranty specifications. Funny...... I was NEVER given this warranty. Nothing received at time of purchase by THEIR furniture sales specialists. Nothing was mentioned or given when SEARS home delivery specialists arrived at my home to assemble and place my brand new box spring and mattress on the frame in question. It was not until I filed a complaint and was denied three months later, that I received the manufacturer warranty via email. Sears has advised that there is nothing they can or will do. They are not acknowledging that I ever called to complain from the beginning and will not back up their *** mattress!!! Absolutely RIDICULOUS!!! I will NEVER buy another darned thing from this unethical, unreliable, dishonest company/store again.

Sears in Glassboro, New Jersey - 2000.00 for a refrigerator that was delivered damaged.

Called and was told that the parts would be ordered. The only reason we took the unit was we had no refrigerator. Two weeks goes by and a door was delivered to our home. Two weeks after this was told that the part for the damaged cabinet was not available for order. Also woke up one day and there was water on the kitchen floor. The auto defrost did not work. We were told that there would be a replacement sent for the fridge. Two more weeks and another refrigerator was delivered. Get the thing in the house and find out after five or six hours that there was no cold air. Of course everything was defrosted. Including about 200.00 worth of meat. They came and got the non working unit. This all started I'm May of 2014. August 4 2014 and after an unknown number of phone calls to sears finally got someone in corporate to get us our money back. He said the by the end of the day on August 5 we should have our money. We'll see. Who ever reads this take note. Get names , dates etc. get a small recorder for the phone and record everything. What ever you return make up a receipt and have whoever takes it, sign for it. Take photos to make sure of no damage. If they damage your home file a complaint right away. Keep the case numbers and get damage estimates. Finally.....DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM SEARS! If you do you are just asking for trouble. Their people in customer service are in India. Everyone else is rude arrogant and hostile. They are programmed to treat you like *** and blow you off! Sears......NEVER AGAIN !
