Sears Sucks

I bought a dishwasher from Sears.Com. I agreed to pay them extra to deliver it, install it and take away the old unit. I also paid for an install kit. They kept me waiting 10 days for delivery. At 11:00am on the delivery day, I called to ask them when they were coming. They said, "relax, we're coming today" I waited some more. At 4 pm they still weren't here, so I called them again. They said, "we have decided not to come. It's too much trouble to deliver to your area, We'll just give you your money back, but it will take 10 days to get a refund on your credit card" I said, "what do you mean its too much trouble? Sears is only 56 miles away and they deliver to my area once a week!" Sears.com said, "well, we aren't them, and we think your area is too much trouble to get to!" They held me up for 10 days, and I am still waiting to get my money back from Sears.com. Then I called the Sears brick and mortar store in Flagstaff, Arizona. I told them what happened with Sears.com and asked why they were allowed to use the name sears if they weren't Sears. l They said they were Sears, just a different division. So I bought the dishwasher again from Sears brick and mortar, paying extra for delivery, take away of old unit, installation, install kit and extended warranty. Sears kept me waiting 2 weeks for delivery. When the deliver man arrived, he left the dishwasher in my living room and without any excuse went away without taking the old unit, without installing the new unit and without leaving the install kit I had paid for. Sears has done nothing to rectify this. Don't do business with Sears.

Do like I did--sent my shredded Sears Credit Card to the CEO in Chicago with a letter typed in microscopic print that basically said I'd never do business with them again (after spending over $4000 on Kenmore appliances). Got calls from CEOs office for days but I refused to answer--I am done with Sears (and BTW, don't shop at Kmart either since it belongs to same company that owns Sears).

Sears Warranty and Repair

We have a refrigerator that is two months old. After 7 days of no power, courtesy of Hurricane Irene, we now find Sears product is not working. We call them up and the "best" they can do is send a repair man here a week from tomorrow. The CSR would not let me talk to a supervisor, was completely worthless in solving the problem, and only wanted to offer his apology. I don't want an apology, I need their product up and running sooner than 8 days. I will never purchase anything from Sears. Their products are not made to last and their repair dept is understaffed.

This is the type of complaint that is unecesary. If your fridge went out because of a weather phenomenon.

Is it not LOGICAL, that at least 100 hundred other consumers around your area had the same problem and that is why it would take so long. CRY BABY!!!

Sears in Houston, Texas - Would not repair washer w/o model number

I have had a service agreement with Sears since 2003. When my dishwasher broke Sears said he was not there problem... so I bought a new one. Now my washer broke and they said they could not find the model number and left and refused to worked on the washer. It is odd since they have worked on it two years ago. Dont ever buy an appliance from Sears and never, never buy a service agreement. I hope to start a movement against Sears so that they dont ever take advantage of another person. All persons with similar complaints post and unite.

Sears in Montreal, Quebec - Terrible Service and Lying Manager

Hi, yesterday I went to Sears and bought 3 bras (1 leopard print bra, 1 black bra, and one purple). One of them (the leopard print one) had no tag, so the cashier told me to grab the same bra in a different size so that she could scan the product. I went and brought her a different size so she could. In total the order came up to just over $80.00 but I got $20 off because of the %30 off deal. When I got home, I tried on the BLACK bra. I noticed it felt tight and uncomfortable, so I took it off, put it back in the bag with the receipt and left it until today. I went back to Sears, and went looking for bras that would fit. I noticed a ton of the bras were mislabeled. I picked out 3 of the same style bra (same as the black one I previously bought), and then went to customer service to return them. A lady came up to help me, she didn't say hi or ask how I was, which I thought was a bit odd because the people working at Sears have always been friendly, and she just did not look happy. I told her what happened, and I asked if I could exchange the bras. She looked through the bras I was trying to return, and before even looking at the receipt she said she had to call the manager, which again, I thought was odd. The manager came and very rudely said she couldn't exchange them, so I asked why, and she told me that the leopard print bra had no tag on it, and that it had spotting on it. I never tried on that bra, and then I thought, why would the cashier from yesterday sell it to me if she wasn't allowed to? So I told her that the only one I tried on was the black one, and she told me there was a return policy and that I couldn't return bras. She asked me to read the return policy stand that was set up, so I read it and it said absolutely NOTHING about not being able to return bras. I left extremely angrily, because I just spent $60 on bras I can't wear. I also forgot my receipt at the customer service desk. When I got home, I checked the online store policy as well just to be sure, and sure enough, there was NO policy on returning bras. So basically, I tried on one bra, and tried to exchange them all within 20 hours of me buying them, and they turned me down completely. I think it was completely unfair for the manager and customer service lady to be so rude, AND to lie right to my face about a store return policy. I wanted an exchange, but now I just want my money back. Sarah M

Sears in Washington, District Of Columbia - Sucked me into buying a washer and dryer they knew was not a good product.

Have always bought appliances like washer/dryer in pairs. I had problems with these 2 since the first delivery. After 3 attempts, delivery on last 2 had dents in the outside. Exhausted, I accepted the dents for a small amount of money. Repair has been to my house so many times that the repair men laugh everytime they get here. These were recalled and Sears has not done anything about them yet. Purchased in 2003. Wardrobes have been destroyed with tares and bleach on dark colors. They break down monthly. When they should have replaced, they didn't. Still under warranty. Nothing moves Sears. You just get STUCK.

Sears tire bait & switch, then fail

Got an unrepairable flat on my car. Borrowed a car to go to Sears to confirm they had the correct size tires for my car - 215x60-16. Sales guy said they did but wanted to do a physical check of inventory because "sometimes the computer says they are there but they aren't." He verified the tires were in stock. I got my car and made it to Sears to get the tires only to be told they do not have them. Good thing it's raining. Not only don't they have them but they can't get them. But the same sales guy said they could fit a size smaller or a size larger - at a higher price. I asked if they could split the price difference or do something. NO! the sales guy went to the manager who evidently was too into himself to come out and talk to me. Then the sales guy finally admitted that not only did they not have the tires I wanted but they did not have the other tire sizes in stock and couldn't get them for at least three days. Hero manager didn't ever extend the courtesy to crawl out his hole. Sears corporate said they could send me a $20 gift certificate for my trouble. I said to keep it.

Exact same bait and switch situation happened to me at a California Sears. This must be part of a Sears sales tactic taught nationwide.

Called for a specific tire I saw online. Sales person said they have a different brand but same (lower) price. Got to the store, sales guy makes it a point to show me on the computer they have 5 "somewhere in the store" but since they're backed up on orders it will be a few hours and he'll call me back. Few hours later he calls me back.

"Can't find them" he says but he can pick up a different tire that's in stock at their warehouse at a much higher price of course. I looked online again, that tire he quoted me that he will pick up was $40 cheaper on Sears website. He said he can "try to price match". I said "according to your website "you will HAVE to price match".

1 day later I have received no phone call, my rim is still at Sears. Protect yourself before you go in for tires. Check online or bring in a copy of the tires plus your 2nd or 3rd choice for their website.

They will for sure quote a different price than what you have and for sure will try to sell you a higher priced tire. I will follow-up soon.

Yes - I am having the same experience. I sell on Amazon, Buy, Ebay, Shopping, PriceGrabber, etc.

and have had no difficulty with account set up of feed uploading.

Clearly SEARS has no interest in adding new merchants.

Dear "Sears Cares", You have got to be kidding! I e-mailed a letter to Sears' "Social Media Support" in reponse to a note I had from a fellow named Roy, which pertained to this very issue of faulty appliances and poor customer service.

It was a detailed letter, including contact information and a breakdown of the concerns. Two weeks later that letter has gone un-responded-to.

You claim Sears cares! If they did they'd stop sending canned responses to very important business correspondence and communicate directly with people who are so upset at Sears' practices. Sears doesn't really care, and the way they handle their customer complaints speaks to that statement.

Fortunately we live in a world where we have choices.

Mine is to NEVER buy an appliance from Sears again. I hope the rest of the common public can follow that as well.

Sears in Atlanta, Georgia - This company is just horrible, period.

The Lawn Tractor I purchased from Sears never performed well. They sent out service but one thing or another continued to work poorly. I finally went and bought a push mower at Home Depot just so i could mow my lawn. My yard is big and with the heat i decided i had to get the tractor in good shape. Service came out and did a basic tune up and leveled the deck, which has never been right. They charged $175. The mower then would start, run a few minutes, and die. I called them back out and he did some work on the carburetor and said to add some gas detergent. It was covered by the 90 day warranty from the previous service so there was no charge. Unfortunately, there was also no change. The mower will not run. It was a wasted $1,000. My push mower still runs well though. Unfortunately, this is par for the course. I'm kicking the Sears habit.
