Sears in Brooklyn, New York - Horrible service on warrantied dishwasher
I am now into hour six of waiting for the Sears repairman who was promised to me at 8:30 this morning. This appointment is to fix a dishwasher, which has been broken since May. The dishwasher is under an extended warranty, which was purchased on the recommendation of the Sears repairman who fixed this piece of *** the first time it broke -- one week after the original warranty expired. He said that it would continue to break -- the machines are basically *** -- and boy was he right. Sears has come out approximately every six months for the past nine years to fix this particular piece of junk. When I called about the latest self-destruction in May, they did send a repairman out a couple of weeks later. He informed me that 1) one of the reasons it keeps breaking is that one component hadn't been fixed properly on previous occasions, and 2) there was a leak in the tub, so that needed to be replaced. He ordered the parts and scheduled a follow-up appt to fix the machine. The parts didn't come, so that appointment was rescheduled. Once again, the parts didn't come, so another reschedule. Then one more reschedule -- after I waited here until 1 p.m. -- because the repairman was sick. Could they not have called me in the morning so I wasn't tied up all day waiting??? With the last reschedule, the girl promised up and down that she could schedule this repair for the first appointment of the day. He would be here at 8:30 a.m. I foolishly believed her. At noon, when there was still no sign of the repairman, I called Sears, navigated through the useless voice menu, and asked to speak to a supervisor. Ten minutes later, I was switched to a barely-English-speaking Indian gentleman who followed the script they use to deal with pissed-off customers. He was very polite, and utterly useless. I told him I wanted my warranty extended by the length of time this machine has been out of service, and I wanted to know when the *** repairman was coming. He put me on hold, and when he came back said to me, "I will call you back at this number in 15 minutes, I promise." That was at noon. It is now 2 and no word from either him or the repairman. I understand that this machine has cost Sears way too much money to repair over the years, and they are hoping that I'll just go away and let them off the hook if they provide bad enough customer service. I will never buy another appliance manufactured by or in any way associated with Sears, and I will make it my own personal mission to tell as many people as possible that this company is to be avoided at all costs. Sears does truly suck.
Sears in Cleveland, Ohio - Poor product and poor customer cervice
I bought a craftsman lawnmower platinum series in May 2010. The mower was retuned for repairs about two months after that. It was used for this summer and has been returned three more times for the same repair to the carberator. The third time i was told it was my fault and I had to pay $65 because the mower was overfilled with oil. I refused to pay because I had only gotten the mower about a month before and i never dded oil to it. They removed the charges and just asked me to pay for an oil filter. I did. One day after, the mower stopped working again. I requested it be refunded but I was told they cannot. i then requested that it be replaced. The store manager said she could not do that. Now I am told that they replaced the filter and plug that i will have to pay for. they could not find any problem. Calling is a waste of time because you get an overseas call center. At the store level the manager treated me as if I should not be complaining. She just shrugged me off, told me to call the repair center and walked back into the office.

We bought a new washer and dryer from Sears in July 2011. These were installed in our house on 13JUL2011. The installers did a horrible job. 1. They dented our wallboard. Offered to come back and repair it, but never did. 2. They left dirty fingerprints all over the...
Sears does not back up their products
I had purchased a stove from the Sears Hardware store in Eastlake Ohio about 10 months ago or so. Everything was working fine until about 2 weeks ago. The ignitor went out on one of my burners. So I called the service center and explained the situation to them. I was asked if I purchased a protection agreement with them. I said no I didn't because I don't believe in them. I was told well then there is nothing we can do for you. I was livid at this point. I said what do you mean there is nothing you can do I was told there was a 1 year warranty with it. This is the part that still fumes me, the lady on the phone actually told me that if I didn't have the protection agreement we don't care about your product. DON'T CARE??? That wasn't the end of it. Once I calmed down enough I called the store I purchased it from. I talked to someone (I forget the person's name) in appliances and again explained the situation. Take a wild guess and what I was told by the associate: without a protection agreement on it we don't care. I am still livid to this day with that kind of responce. I mean how can a company like Sears still be in business with people like that working for them? I use to buy Kenmore and Craftsman products going on for probably 40 years now, not to mention my father and grandfather were loyal Sears customers. Sears rest assured that I will be telling this tale to everyone I see and let them know just exactly how you view your customers, as pieces of slime. Show Sears? Never again.
So I just wanted to inform the readers here about a little something about the Sears Hardware stores in Ohio. I use to work at the Parma Sears Hardware store and I was fired by the district manager because my protection agreement sales were not up to company...
Sears has outsourced all the logistics to India and they are horrible. They hung up on me 34 times and I was on hold for over 20 minutes other times. They refuse to give me the phone number of the delivery person and they refuse to transfer me to the local Sears store....
Sears lack of warranty support - mowers
I purchased a lawn tractor in April 2010. From the start it mowed at 3" when set at 5". I can't use any other height. I stored it inside over the winter. This year it also has a deck that shakes terribly...it may need a belt repair? THe "warranty' center told me I have to make the repairs and/or adjustments myself using my owners manual. Even though this mower had only been used for barely 10 months. Sears has left me high and dry - I will never use Sears again if this is their new policy for supporting customers and their warranties!!!
SEARS Delivery Men Stole Money From Home When Delivering Refrigerator
Purchased refrigerator fro SEARS. The delivery men came and when no one was looking stole $500 from my wifes purse. When reported to SEARS they didnt care and weren't helpful in any way. The delivery company XCEL said they invetsigated and the two delivery men said they didnt do it - case closed! Only two people entered my home other than my wife and son entered the home during the period the money went missing - they were the two SEARS delivery men. Following up with SEARS DELIVERY customer service I was put on hold for 30 minutes and then disconnected each time. Never ever got a response. SEARS service and delivery is abismal - do you want your home to be violated???? If NO then dont buy from SEARS
