Sears On(Off)-Line
6 days ofter ordering a Levi's duffle dubag on-line ("pick-up at store") there was no contact from Sears. Of course the merchendise was absolutely available when I called them before. After my first complaint They kindy informed me that my order had been cancelled. Would be OK if they simply let me know about that ASAP after ordering. In that way I would have been waiting half a year with no response. ---This is the line to fulfill minimum capacity of 100 words comment---This is the line to fulfill minimum capacity of 100 words comment--- No more Sears!

Sears.com forces gift card for returned items
I Tried to return some clothes bought at Sears.com to local Sears store. It took about 45 minutes and five people and they still couldn't figure out how to complete the return. In the end, they could not put refund back on my credit card- I was fored to take a Sears gift card. When I called corporate customer relations, the woman on the other end said "Yeah, that has happened to me, too." Her manager said "well there is a problem if you are returning something that store doesn't carry. I asked her "Shouldn't Sears fix that problem?" She got hostile.

SEARS has issued refund (with receipt) to gift card instead of major CC
Refund for partial return with receipt (3 of 5 items) was issued to SEARS gift card instead of major credit card. Original Payment: $15.55 Master Card $18.40 Gift Card Refund: $18.40 Gift Card $2.57 Master Card Proper refund would be: $15.50 Master Card, rest (~$5.50 Gift card). Sales person gave no advance worning, computer problems cited as the reason, while agreeing with me that refund should be first issued to the major CC to the full extent of CC payment with only reminder on the gift card, which is the coomon practice in the retail industry. Lack of promissed follow up on two occasions.

Sear's Poor Warranty Service
Both my dishwasher and dryer broke at the same time. Since I bought them from Sear's, I called their repair center. They informed me that a service call was $75.00, and since it was two appliances they wanted to make two calls, presumably to rip me off of $75.00 Then they told me that my dryer was still under an extended warranty that I had purchased. I decided to go ahead and make the appointment for the dryer only. I had to wait TWELVE DAYS for an appointment. Ridiculous. I was told they'd be here January 3rd (2008), between 8am and 12pm. I called several times a few days in advance to tell them that I had to be out of the house by 12, so they had to be here before then. By 11:40 they still weren't here. I called, got through to a supervisor, and told her I had to go out for ONE HOUR, between 12 and 1, and to make sure the repairman didn't come at that time. Even though they inconvenienced me, they refused to accomodate me. I was told that they would get here when they got here, and if I wasn't home I would have to make another appointment. It is now 1:55 and they still aren't here.

Returns on defective boots
i bought boots on boxing day 2007, at their lowest sale price.(so they said) i wore them once and the seam broke. so today i tried to take them back. they didn't have the same size so i wanted a store credit but because i didn't have my receipt they wanted to give me half of want i paid. i had the box and my bank statement showing when i paid the (lowest sale price) $55.99 but without a receipt apparently they will only give me todays sale price of $27.99. S*&! first they lie about the lowest sale prices are on boxing day and then even though their computers can confirm the price paid on boxing day they only want to pay todays price. well after 40yrs of puchasing clothing for a family of six, all appliances for three totally renovated houses and all yard furniture and kids pools i will never shop their again. i will let everyone i see from now on what *** consumer relations this store has and with the way things are nowadays people will care and not shop there either. i guess they need the money more then i do

Sears kenmore washers & dryers
For the second time within a year I have had to replace the handle on my Kenmore(elite model #110.9508****) dryer at a cost of over eighty three dollars each, not including installation fees. The handle is plastic and cannot be replaced with a metal cabinet handle because Sears chose not to use cabinet maker standards for this product. A serviceman has to replace the handle because the screws are not exposed to do it yourself. However, the screws are exposed on the front load washer - go figure. Sears is certainly putting the screws to anyone who buys this product.

Sears delivery nightmare
We purchased a Sears Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator/freezer. We live in Pasadena, CA. and purchased it from their Arcadia store. They asked for the customary wide window of delivery time, and we were thoroughly accommodating to them. The delivery truck pulls up at 8PM!! The truck is a Penske truck, and the delivery man who rings our bell looks like a felon, downright frightening, and very surly. I say, "wow, you guys must be busy, renting trucks from Penske". He says, no, we work for Penske, they do all the deliveries for Sears. I follow him out to the truck, where I watch him and his associate frantically rip the shipping box and packing off the unit, and even though the truck has an hydraulic lift platform, he straps the refrigerator to a hand truck, angles it over the side, and about 3 feet off the ground, lets it fall!!!! I said you can't do that!...he says no, it's okay...then proceeds to roughly haul it up our front steps, with its compressor and innards clanging and clunking. When he sets it up, no surprise, the cabinet is misaligned, clearly from it being dropped, so the doors don't line up. I say that is unacceptable, he says too bad, and skidmarks out of there, leaving packing debris in the street. I went ballistic with the store, they offered to make things right, but I got my money back and went to a private appliance store, got a better price, better product, and excellent service. Sears is dead, long live Sears... :(

SEARS GIFT CARD RIP OFF
I have a sears gift card with a balance of less than two dollars and they will not give me change! I don't want to go out and spend extra money I don't have just to use them! How much extra money is sears making off of the thousands of people just like me! I just stood in line at sears and was completely stonewalled at the complaints department. they seemed to think that since the cards were a " a gift" I shouldn't have a problem with it!? I feel like we are being completely ripped off.

Sears Poor Products Worse Service
Two years ago I purchased a new front loading washer dryer set, at quite a high price. Since then I have had nothing but trouble with the washer shaking the daylights out of my house. The excuses over the two year period have included, unit was not level, unit is only designed for a slab foundation, unit was stack (which was funny since that was part of the selling features), cloths were not loaded correctly creating an out of balance condition. Then a tech said the shocks were bad and replaced them, so I bought a service contract for a year to lower the cost but still it shook! Now, the latest tech said the drum, basket and brace all needed to be replaced. So believing in rainbows, I thought this was going to solve all the problems. But sadly today when yet another tech arrived I am told not all the parts were ordered and I now have to wait another 10 day. In addition to waiting this tech tells me that I based on the service contract it is MY responsibility to move the washer to a location where they can work on it and it is MY responsibility to ensure all parts ordered arrive and follow upon any that do not. What happened to the concept of SERVICE? Sears has definitely lost it since I was a child back in the 60’s. I have never in my life had a service provider expect me to do HALF to the work from them! So I warn you, DON’T BUY SEARS and if you do or have, get your service elsewhere!

Sears Service Dept
We purchased 10,000 of Kenmore Elite Appliances from Sears in July (5 months ago). So far, we've had 2 issues. 1st-my dishwasher does not dry my dishes. It took 1 month for them to come to my home and all I was told is that I was using the wrong detergent??? I use a normal detergent like they sell in the grocery store. Now my washing machine is broken and does not drain. I have an 8 month old son and 4 other people living in my home and I can not wash out clothes. They will not come to fix it for 10 days! And they will not reimburse me for my laundromat bills or to have another technician come from another company. This is ridiculous and I will never buy another Sears product.

Kenmore Dishwasher
Bought Kenmore dishwasher 10/22/03. (665********) One year later, motor and pump replaced under warrenty. Had extended 3 year warranty. PBC board ($89+labor) failed 2 months after extended warrenty ended. Now, four months after extended warranty has ended, a new motor and pump are needed, AGAIN ( cost$250) After 6 HOURS on the phone with Sears (who told me to call Kenmore, who told me to call Whirlpool, who told me to call Sears) I was able to connect with the "legal team" of Sears. Who says,"Since it isn't under warranty, there is nothing they will do." They did admit (FYI) their appliances are made to be disposable. Sears refuses to pay or admit there might be a lemon!!

Repair
I called Sears for a dishwasher repair on the December 11, 2007. THey earliest available service call was December 19th. After being told the repairman would be at my home at 1:00 p.m on the 19th I waited until 2:15 p.m which wasn't horrible. The man got on the floor and looked into the dishwasher and told me it would cost 186.00 to repair but he didn't have the part. He would have to order it which would take at least 5 days. That would run into Christmas so it would be after Christmas before my dishwasher was repaired. Firstly, I can buy a new dishwasher for not too much more that the cost quoted but more than that is the time without the dishwasher and the lost time at work. From the 11th of December to whenever is not satisfactory! I told him I would make other arrangements but it cost me 50.00 just to get him out of my house. I picked up the Yellow Pages and had a comittment for the next day and much less cost and I didn't have to lose two days of work in order to get my repair.

How ignorant can a company be?
I wanted to buy some new parts for my air compressor, but they need the model number of the compressor. The part I needed was destroyed, but was where the model number was located. After being transfered 8 time in one hour, I was told that each individual air compressor has it's own model number. Not each type, but each individual one. Most products have individual serial numbers, but sears uses individual model numbers?? Have I gone ***?? They wanted me to call the store that I bought it from 11 years ago and ask them if they remember the model number of the compressor they sold me that day....WTF? I even got transfered to the craftsman club to see if they could help??? What a great company...Who runs it, chimpanzees??

The worst experience I ever had. On top of all the lies they still will not return any of my calls or warrant any work. I had to supply all the repair lumber and paid $450.00 for the electrical box they broke. The workers would not show me any licence. And they still send me bills and call me to pay but will not talk about any repairs, As I started paying them $1,000.00 already. There is to much to tell, So Please Be Where. Also the materials they use are not Sears Brand as they said

Don't Even Think About Buying A Tv At Sears
At 76 years of age, one would think I had learned from past experiences with Sears. To wit, a year ago, $3,500 worth of new appliances were totally fouled up; not having learned my lesson, two weeks ago I (actually my son as a gift to his dear cancer stricken mother) bought her a 42" plasma tv and stand; after a mess of calls as to delivery, the "goods" arrived today; nope the deliver does not install; we paid for installation; a few calls later, some routed to, would you believe, the philipines, still no instalation; then we called the local fellow in charge of the tv dept at the Southglenn store in Centennial, Co; after some pleading he kind of promised to call me by noon Saturday, 12/15/07. The lesson: go to Circuit City or Best Buy folks, Lambert has totally destroyed the notion of customer service at Sears. If you read this call me: 303-883-**** "David" Have a Blessed Christmas, but., do your shopping at other than Sears, eh!

Well first off... they aren't really supposed to return items bought online in the store because they may not have it in store.
Second, be happy that they did spend 45 minutes on ONE customer. If it were me, i would have told you that we could not take the return and that was that.
