Sears internet order scam

Ordered ereader from Sears on line-back ordered for a month. Found it at a store for same price. Called and canceled order was told it would show as a credit on my next billing cycle. A month latter they started calling saying that it was in the store. I told them it was canceled and he said I had to come into the store to send it back. I was charged a $25. restocking charge and they made me take a gift card for the balance. I have purchased many large items from them but will never buy another thing from them.

Bad experience with sears canada

I have a bad experience with sears service recently. The service of sears canada is so confuse. I am frustrated. Two weeks ago, I called sears customer service regarding the 60 night comfort guarantee of my new mattress which purchased in 2011 April. My new mattress is a reselect of defected mattress that i purchased on 2010 April. I have told the representative that the new mattress i have right now is a reselect mattress. The representative said i still have one time exchange base on the 60 night comfort guarantee even the mattress is reselect. I told her i would like to reselect the mattress in different sears store because i had a bad experience with the markville sears before. And i do not want to have any mistake happen this time. She said it is ok to do so and she will sent the note to sears and they will contact me soon. Few days later, markville sears call me and told me i do not have 60 night comfort guarantee because is a reselect mattress. Therefore, i call sears customer service again to confirm that will i have 60 night comfort guarantee if my mattress is reslect. The representative double check for me and she said i will have the 60 night comfort guarantee. So i went to the store and talk to the sale person. I told her that i have called the customer service twice and they both said i still have the 60 night comfort guarantee. She start sound unpatient to me and keep telling me "No!" "The answer is NO!" "No!" when i am trying to explain my situation. Then i've leave the store. I was so upset and confuse. Therefore, i decided to call sear customer service again which is the third time. I asked them to double check and make sure will i have the 60 night comfort guarantee. They have checked all my doucments. Also, they have asked their superior and they still said yes because the first mattress i had in 2010 is defected so i do the reselect in 2011. I went to the store again and talk to the sale person again. She said "No! The answer is no. This is the POLICY." She called someone in front of me and she ask the person to put a note under my case that i will not have the 60 night comfort guarantee becuase of the "POLICY". I AM VERY CONFUSE AND UPSET. On the sears-o-pedic care, handling & waranty information, under the 60 night comfort guarantee it shown that " AT SEARS WE RECONGNIZE THE IMPORTANT OF A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP. TO HELP YOU ACCOMPLISTTHIS WE RECOMMEND YOU TAKE A MINIMUM OF 30 NIGHTS AS AN ADJUSTMENT PERIOD FOR YOUR ODY TO GET USED TO THE COMFORT AND SUPPORT OF YOUR NEW SLEEP SET. IF AFTER 30 NIGHTS AND WITHIN 60 NIGHTS OF YOUR DELIVERY YOU FEEL THAT YOUR BED IS NOT AS COMFORTABLE AS YOU EXPECTED, PLEASE LET US KNOW AND WE WILL BE HAPPY TO ARRANGE ONE SELECTION EXCHANGE TO YOU.". I also do research online at sears web site and i can't find any information about that "POLICY". I have a defected mattress and i spent more money to reselect another mattress in APRIL 2011. I am not comfortable with this mattress so i call customer service to ask about the 60 night comfort guarantee. They said yes and i went to the store but she said no. I am so frustrated and upset. It is so comfusing.

I just got off the phone (and prior to that online chat) with Sears customer service regarding repair of my Craftsman Lawn Tractor. I have an older tractor and the drive belt broke today while mowing grass. All I wanted was a general cost range for how much it would...

Sears home service is a joke, will never use them again. I had them come out and provide a quote to repair the broken drive belt on my Craftsman mower.

$300 was the quote for literally 15 minutes of work. I asked him to leave my property, I'm not paying him $800/hr to fix a broken belt on a mower, I don't pay that much to change the belt in my automobile.

I'm not a handy person... but I was able to remove the mower deck myself, buy the $28 drive belt from Sears and had it shipped to my house within a few days... and I installed the belt myself.

It was a little trial and error, but its not a tough job. Once the mower deck is removed (a 5 minute job).... the belt takes maybe 15 minutes to put on there, much less once you figure out how it works..

and another 5 minutes to put the mower deck back on. If you were in my area, I'd do it and show you how for a nominal charge.

Sears Install & Repair Poor Customer Service

I am in my 50s and have shopped at Sears all my life. I'm now finished with them. After a faulty dryer installation by Sears, the dryer electrical Connection Board melted down. (The installer did not tighten the screws on the cord.) I called Sears for a Repair. The technician did not even look at the dryer but instead wiggled the cord and said to call an electrician. $300 into the "repair" now -($119 for the Sears repair guy, $200 for the electrician and parts) - the electrician replaces the plug, checks the breaker box. . .finds no problems. Electrician looks at the dryer and finds the blown/burned connections due to the bad installation. Sears passes me to SEVEN different reps when I call to remedy the situation. 45 minutes of cell phone time! I called the store and they blew me off. (Sears in Lynnwood, WA.) They still will not make good on this error: worse they pass me from person to person seven times and make me keep repeating the story. I am forced to call a third repair person, unrelated to Sears to try to fix my dryer. I've spent six hours and $300 already, and I assume I will spend another $200-300 to replace the blown Connection Board - and that's if the entire dryer isn't destroyed. I've had it less than three years. I will never shop at Sears again. Sad, really. Unacceptable. Their technician didn't even look at the dryer and told me to call an electrician. Unbelievable.

Dont use Sears for anything with sub-contractors

We have used Sears for over 40years. We will never set foot in their stores again! Both times purchased items requiring delivery and the use of sub-contractors, Sears sided with the subs when the jobs were messes up. As long as the sub doesn't harm the Sears product, they can tear anything else up and Sears takes their side and you're left with the repair bill. Our last experience we purchased a new refrigerator to replace a smaller side by side that was in excellent condition that we were going to put in our rental. Sub delivered new larger refrigerator perfect but they tore up the handles of our refrigerator, broke the ice and water selector button, put deep scratch in door and deep scratches in our newly painted door frame. We repaired everything but the in door water wouldn't shut off. Complained to Sears. They sided with the contractor and basically called us liars! The repair was less than $100.00! We've spent many many thousands of dollars at Sears - never another penny.

I learned many years ago to not buy anything at Sears. I now go to Lowes for appliances because they treat me good and have free delivery.

The next day, even. The Sears I knew from decades ago no longer exists.

Sears surely knows how to waste your time

I had a Tile/laminate flooring job that I was getting quotes from different companies for. I called in Sears for an estimate since 1. They do not list any pricing or any information about there products used during installation and 2. Because that was the only way to get any questions answered. After speaking to a Sears rep. I had a set appointment. First, the man that came to my home was over a hour late and I had to call to find out where he was. He blamed traffic for his tardiness. When he finally got there he had entered my home unprepared, no samples or equipment and still no list of prices for anything. Instead he talked for hours about his life, his businesses and his passed professions. I had to remind him and push him to do his job. I told him just to give me some solid numbers and to show me the product. After about an hour of chatting, he finally went back to his car to get his laptop and measuring stick and laptop to plug in numbers(still no pricing or samples)he chatted some more before measuring out my living-room. 30 minutes later, he gave me an estimate for just my living-room, based off of a 15x17(255 sq ft) room I was expected to pay over $3k, for laminate! I have over 1700 more sq ft to go! I asked once again about the laminate samples. He went to his car again and brought back a fold out board with about 8 samples. I was told the install would run between $13-$15k. I couldn't believe it. He was very hesitant about giving me the number per sq ft. Stating that his computer isn't capable of giving him those numbers. And what made matters worse I asked him to finish off the estimate and forward it back for comparison. I haven't heard anything back. Its been about a month passed his visit. My floors are installed now and only cost me half of what I was quoted with Sears. This isn't the type of company that anyone should do business with. This was a waste of time on both ends.

I am with you with Sears not being what they once were. I bought tires online and went to have them installed the next day only to find those particular ones were not available in the store even tho the online showed that store had them.

Of course they were happy to offer me other models that were quite a bit more expensive.

A set of tires that should have been 400$ plus install and disposal ended up costing over 750$ I have personaly stopped shopping at sears and advise my friends to do the same. I had a bad experiene with purchasing a riding lawn mower with them 2 years ago and gave them a second chance with the tires, but this was the last straw.

Sears in Toronto, Ontario - Horrible Service

I bought a dishwasher cash, then i had to return it since they shipped the wrong model. paid again with visa. didn't get a refund until now. two months later,,,,they are horribly unorganized! i called in four times and every time i was assured that the check was on its way but it never arrived. i am on the hold line as i am writing this review. basically i would prefer dealing locally from now on. they cant manage this whole online order and shipment process. and the customer service people seem like they just want to get you offthe phone line and will tell you what you want to hear ....but let the stuff go through their inefficient process after you hang up.
