Don't do business with Sears
I am another consumer caught in Sears limbo. Our hot water heater decided to give up the ghost on Christmas. I immediately got online and ordered a replacement with expedited delivery. The water heater was supposed to arrive yesterday. Emphasis on "supposed". I took the day off work to wait for the water heater that never arrived. After approximately 12 phone calls (including being transferred to the same departments a few times) and waiting on hold for at least 10 minutes with each transfer, I was finally able to find out that my water heater wasn't delivered because it was out of stock. Wouldn't it have been more efficient to update the website to reflect that and offer other in-stock choices? Anyway, since the order is still "processing" (even though my bank account was promptly debited for the entire purchase price plus $142 for expedited shipping), I cannot get a refund. The status will change only when the water heater is restocked. Who in h*** knows when that will be? So, here I sit….no hot water heater, no money to buy another one until Sears gives me my money back. To save time, I opened a dispute with PayPal. I may see my money in 30 days. The silver lining is I have very nice neighbors who are allowing me to use their shower and I have wised up to never doing business with Sears again. Everyone else would be smart to do the same.
I went to sears to buy a mattress/box spring that I saw in their flier. The flier indicated that any mattress/box spring over $599 would include free delivery. I picked out a mattress/box spring and paid for it and noticed that they werent giving me free delivery. ...
I've written your Executives in Hoffman Estates and forwarded same to Clark Howard at CBS News here in Atlanta. No transaction is legally binding until the merchandise has been delivered to the purchaser and signed for as it was in our case. That occurred on...
Sears Delivery Service
Sears in Modesto, California - Nothing gets done through customer service
Sears is slipping and I don't think they care. They give you a phone number to call for problems and if you call one it is people from other countries that don't know how to take care of your problems. The other number at least the lady I talked to sounds like she is from America and can handle my complaints. But nothing was done to take care of my problem and as long as Sears takes care of their customers this way I hope some day people quit doing business with you. Thank You, No need in leaving my name because to sears it doesn't make any difference.
Sears has gone to ***. I ordered a TV on Dec. 15th and have been working everyday. I finally had time to check on the order and guess what? They don't have the TV and will never have it at the price it was advertised. They didn't think I was worth an email or a call in this matter. I tried to get another TV and the same thing happened. They advertise a great deal but don't have it. This time I called the stores and found out that none of them had them in stock. Isn't this illegal or something? Bait and switch for sure. I'm closing my account there and will never shop there again. They really stink!
Sears in Chicago, Illinois - Sear has horrible deliver and installation of appliances
Five years ago we bought a washer, dryer, and fridge. Sears delivery men spent forever hooking up washer and dryer and did not seem to know what they were doing then told me the fridge we ordered was too big and would not even try to install. Later my husband rescheduled the fridge delivery and it fit perfect but by then all our food had spoiled. Our washer recently broke and we bought from sears again. They came to deliver on christmas eve and could not unhook old one due to it being installed inproperly the first time. They offered the little in the way of apology and said they would send a skinny installation man today who could fit behind it to unhook the old machine. A call from Sears last night confirmed they would be at our place between 7 and 9. My husband stayed home from working waiting and no one came. After talking with 2 customer service people and a manager we are no farther along. They claim there was no appointment made. apparently the computer makes the appointments and they cannot be over ridden. So why were we promised this appointment last friday and had a call last night to confirm it? Now we are told they will send someone tomorrow. They refused to give us any discount but offered a 10% off coupon on our next purchase with them. Seriously????? I would never purchase from Sears again. I'd rather wash my clothes the old fashion way then buy from them. Anyone looking for appliances I recommend you stay away from Sears. Go to Abt or another appliance store if you want it done right!
I have never written a negative review of a company online…I never wanted to be one to complain anonymously about a company and have always been extremely adept at allowing negative experiences roll off my back. However, in the case of Sears, I can no longer hold my...
Sears Warranty Problems
I bought a Kenmore Grill 5/8/2008 for $400 on sale. The burners have a 10 year warranty, "replaced free of charge". The warranty does say that labor is not covered. My burners rusted through and Sears now require a service call $100 to verify they are burned through. It is an easy part I plan on replacing myself. The part lists for $9.56. So much for replacement warranty. It will be the last appliance I ever buy from sears. As a 50+ year old home owner I had been a loyal customer that they lost for stupidity.
I had a layaway at Sears. I went online and made my payments on time and always payed more than what was due at each time. Well I made my scheduled payment on 12/11/10 for 3.08. On 12/14/10 I see Sears took an additional 20.00 from my bank. I called Sears and explained my situation and they told me to contact the store that when my layaway is paid I would go there and pick up my item. Well I contacted the store and they say they show nothing about a 20.00 transaction and told me to call the internet department. I called the internet department and they told me to call this number. I called this number and they told me to call another number, so in all I called 7 different numbers and got no where. You would figure in this day and time when the economy is so poor and retailers are going out of business that retailers would cherish the customers who do business at their stores. I will never shop at Sears or any of Sears Holding again!!! You lost a customer who's family has shopped at Sears for over 50 years for 20.00. What a way to keep a customer!!!!
Sears Ripped me off and ruined Christmas!!
Thursday night (12/23/2010), I went up to Sears Home Repair Parts & Service Center in Seattle, WA to buy a part for my Kenmore refrigerator. They told me on the phone that they would hold the part aside for me. They didn't. The woman was a bit rude, but I brushed it off. The part cost me $16.84 which I paid with my debit card. The next day, Friday, Christmas Eve, midday, I decided to check my bank balance and see that Sears charged me $166.84 (despite the receipt said $16.84). Of course the service store is closed until Monday. I called customer service and no one even tried to help me. Since I had made some other purchases before seeing the error, I am probably overdrawn so fees will be on the way. Since the location is closed for the holidays I cannot do anything until Monday so I have no money for the weekend. Merry *** Christmas, Sears!
