I recently bought replacement windows for my home through Sears Home Improvement. I am sooooo sorry that I ever connected with Sears or Alside. All my double hung windows under the slightest of breezes howl like crazy and moan and whistle. There is too much space...

S.e.a.r.s=sears employees are really ***

I bought my dream French Door Refrigerator 5yrs ago and it failed to cool in the summer while I was out of town. Came home to smells like death and green fur growing all over the inside as I was gone 3 weeks!! I did the 6hour dismantle and clean up so the Tech could repair it. No compensation given for the hundreds of dollars of very expensive food lost. This failure occurred of course just outside the one yr. warranty. I had to pay. Then 1/1/2 yrs later failed again. More money, more rude treatment. Went outside A/E on the 3rd failure and had a GE part put in as it was summer again and lost all the food. That Tech told me how *** Sears parts are and told me I would probably never have another problem. HAHA I just paid A/E for a one yr warranty they talkeed me into and another $778.oo to replace the compressor August 2010. The answer is to tell them to shove their Pretty Junk. In my childhood back in Detroit we had a Frigidare fridge and it was still going strong when I grew up! My mom never lost a single food item. I'm basically out thousands and they refuse to replace. I screamed LEMON LEMON LEMON and they would do nothing. We are so sorry maam. No response to the LEMON word. They just keep talking and apologizing. Don't buy their nasty ***. Buy an LG or Whirlpool. Who knows? They all lie just to get your cash. Thanks for listening Miss Detroit, Diana

I'd be careful recommending LG, if you Google around you'll see they are not very good. They also make quite a few of the Kenmore refrigerators now and that honor usually goes to the lowest bidder. Consumer Reports surveys indicate that Whirlpool is still decent although not as trustworthy as in the past.

Also Square Trade is a better warranty provider.

Sears in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - They will not allow me to return a mailbox!

I ordered a mailbox back in July. Sears sent me the wrong mailbox. I informed them of the mistake and wished to have it exchanged. Sears would not take the return because they said it has to go back to the vendor. I have not been refunded the money, nor do I have the correct mailbox. Now they are telling me that they cannot process the return and that I have to contact the vendor on my own. I hate that store!! Will never go there again. They have taught me a valuable lesson; there is a reason why Home Depot is doing so well and they are not!

Sears on University Avenue in Little Rock Sucks

I took my parents 42" Hailer TV in to Sears #1016 on University Avenue as per the instructions of the phone help line. I was busy so I had an employee take my business card in so they would have my number to call me for the ESTIMATE. When the store rep called me, I couldnt understand his broken form of English, so I asked for someone who spoke English. I got someone , and they said they would CALL me with an ESTIMATE.( after complaining that they do not take tv's larger than 22" in-store for repair). When they finally did call a two weeks later, James Bryson Spivey (receiving lead man...woohooo....only a step above a door greeter at Wal Mart) called to say the TV could not be fixed, and that I owed them $130.40. I asked him what happened to my ESTIMATE......and he proceeded to tell me that was my ESTIMATE......for them calling a SEARS TECHNICIAN into THEIR OWN STORE...and payment was due in full. I told them to keep the TV, and that I would be telling everyone about their great customer service. My only mistake was that I work for a non-profit, and James Bryson Spivey proceeded to call and email my CEO and tell her about this because I used an employee and my business card to make this transaction. He used this tactic to force me to pay the bill.....or else. He along with Lori Prado-Johnson, the Ops Manager for #1016 have won the battle, but not the war. I am paying the $130.40 to keep my job, but will spend every waking hour publishing the "great" things about Sears. Hopefully I can spread the word about their great customer service.......and their techniques of stealing from people for their non-working trash they sell.

To BigDaddy72032,

My name is Marcus and I am part of the Sears Cares Escalations team and I am very concerned about what I have read here concerning your experience with the Sears Repair Center. I want to apologize that the associates at the repair center did not handle this situation the right way. My escalations team would like to step in and assist with this issue. The Repair Center should have given you the estimate first before they rendered service on your T.V. I want you to know that Sears apologizes for the inconvenience that this has caused. There is no reason why the associate should have contacted the CEO of your company to bring resolve to this issue. We don’t want this situation to deter you from future shopping’s at Sears. Sears Cares is a single point of contact for escalated concerns which means we step into a situation and handle it start to finish with one Case Manager as your point of contact. At your convenience, please contact our office at searscares@searshc.com so you (and others) don’t have to continue to be impacted by this any longer. In the email, please provide a contact phone number and the phone number the T.V. was purchased under (if different than the contact phone number) and we will call you directly. Also, in your email please provide the screen name (BigDaddy72032) for reference to your issue and we do look forward to talking to you soon.

Thank you,

Marcus C.

Sears Canada Rebate Ripoff

The salesman sealed the deal for a sofa purchase by pointing out that it qualified for a rebate, and even sent us away with all the forms and dual receipts to fill out and send in. The rebate was denied a couple months later on a technicality that was not explicitly mentioned anywhere. Sears customer service offered to provide half of the rebate ($30), but we walked away from that and resolved that no member of our family will ever walk into a Sears store again. Apparently it was about money for them, but principle for us, so in the end our resolution was probably in line with the circumstances. We have cut up our Sears card and will close the account once the last payment of the interest-free financing for this sofa purchase runs its course. => DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM SEARS, THEY HAVE NO INTEGRITY!

Sears, robber of consumers

On 9/4/10, after 25 minutes of talking to computers, and finally with a real person, Sears is charging me $34.00!!!! for a small plastic lip that attaches with one screw to my Maytag washer model PAV2300AwwRev.12 ("safety switch). I vow to never buy anything from Sears and its affiliates again (Orchard Supply; I'll find out what else they owe). Sears is a dishonest, thiefing corporation. Look at the interest rates they charge on their credit cards, look a the super-inflated prices for the smallest of parts, etc. Is it because they have a stronghold on appliances? Whatever the reason, consumers beware!

Did you buy a protection agreement? Is your manufacturers warranty expired?

No service agreement & no manufac. warranty = you have to pay for parts. You don't HAVE to buy your parts through sears if you don't want to.

I can guarantee you they price parts reasonably because they pay double what you are paying if not more for the part.

How did they thieve you? They provide the part and you pay for it. That is Capitalism, sorry to tell you. They didn't steal from you. You paid for a service.

Before buying any parts from Sears I would advise everyone to call there local supply houses with your model number. You will find that part in most cases 50% cheaper than Sears.

Sears sells defective products and the employees are worse

I purchased two heaters and they were defective. Apparently, I saved 2 dollars on each so therefore I could not return them after ten days despite the fact that they didn't work. No refund,no credit, no exchange, no offer to repair. I was treated abusively by the first female employee and then waited 30 minutes for her to get the manager. After all that waiting no manager came. She brought a larger male who was an inch away from man-handling my elderly mother and myself. The last thing I witnessed was her saying she was taking a new bike off the floor and she walked out of the store with it.she was laughing as we left with the 2 defective heaters and she left with a free bike.

Sears is the worst repair policy in the world!!

Sears refused and said no one available to repair my Kenmore side by side refrigerator on 9/3/11. I called the 800 customer service number, I think China picked up, no one availabel for repair. I called the Myrtle Beach, SC store, and the same, no one available until next week. Could this be that bad, YES it is. How do you keep food cold until next week?? I was not even give another repair person to use. Quality control I guess. I hope to never buy another product from Sears because they can not stand behind ther own products for repair. I am going to share my horror story about Sears to everyone that will listen. Do not buy from Sears!!!! thomas Leonard Myrlte Beach, SC

Dear Wizfinish@aol.com,

I recently came across your post here and wanted to offer help. I'm Scott and I'm with Sears Cares Escalations within corporate. I'm sorry to hear your refrigerator is giving you some trouble and you were dissatisfied with the repair timeframe given to you. Naturally, we'd love to service all our customers sooner rather than later, however manpower & geographic restrictions can prevent that. Nevertheless, we'd like to help. At your convenience please contact my office via email at searscares@searshc.com so that we can assist with resolving this issue. Please provide us a contact number and the phone number the fridge was purchased under and we will call you at your convenience. In addition, include your screen name (Wizfinish@aol.com) in the email so we can reference to your case.

Thank you,

Scott J.

I think what you are missing is the details and specifics of your situation. If you are going to betch then at least be accurate. I am betting they gave you a date that was a week out and you didn't like it. Then you said you didn't like it and it was ridiculous and they let you know that that was the best they could do right? Welcome to the fact that you aren't the most important person in the entire world.

You are complaining about availability of technicians. This is a completely separate issue from their "repair policy" or any of their service agreements. It sucks that they couldn't fix it the first time (depending on the problem and maybe you kept messing with it so it would break), but they can only schedule so many people under warranty. You don't have to pay for the service call or the parts. Still you complain.

A week is not really that long to go. You didn't say your refrigerator wasn't cooling. Maybe it wasn't cool enough for you?

What was wrong with the refrigerator? When the problem persists after the initial tech visit then you have to schedule behind others that called in before you. So, say you have a tech service call on 9/3. It works fine for a couple of days and then the problem comes up again: when you call on 9/5 there will be others scheduled before you because they called on 9/4 etc. Its a first come first serve scheduling. If a date fills up then that's it until the next availability.

You keep food cold by getting the cheap little coolers or a big cooler (like you would take out camping or to a football game) and fill it with ice. Put your food in it. You only have to replace the bag of ice (which is what, a dollar?) for about 7 days. Yeah, its an inconvenience, but its not the end of the world. You could also pony up for another repair service. Yeah, you don't want to fork over the money. Why do that when you can *** & moan about a waiting a week?

It has nothing to do with Sears being able to "stand behind their product" it has to do with all these people believing that they are the center of the universe. Sears supports its product very well considering the sheer volume of service calls, maintenance checks, & other concerns they have going on. You are not the only one who had a broken refrigerator that needed service.

There are 8 (count them)...8 routing centers that serve the entire US. Why don't they hire more techs? Because then it would cost the customer more money!

Listen, it sucks that you had to go a week without your frig, but there are a lot of different companies that don't even come close to the service that sears provides. It may not be perfect, but they do work very hard to help customers.

Its hard to do when they are constantly in a losing battle against people who think that the world owes them EVERYTHING.

Sears does not care about people just care about there bottom line. They just disregard people who cared about them for years and helped make a great customer base. It is sad that corporate america does not care about the little people which is how our country was...

Sears is cheaper than alot of places. I went to lowes expecting a better price bet ended back at sears.

They have lost customer focus though. They spend hundreds of thousands of dollars figuring out why they are loosing customers. Then spend so much time trying to get new customers, I really feel they are not long for this world.

The Kmart buy out was the worst thing for sears. I will miss them since I work there, but have to say I hate my job and how we treat our customers.
