Sears scheduled a repair confirmed it and called to reschedule at the last minute

a scheduled appointment for me was rescheduled after confirmation was given.Tney said they overbooked.I woke up early and had someone move furniture for their arrival.after 2 hours of waiting for them they called.They could not give me another app. for 10 days I am disabled. It is 95 degrees today my sears ac needs recharging.I went with sears because my ac is sears and they used to br reliable,dependable,and stand by their work, now a I have to see if someone else can come before it reaches such a high temp. I have to move out.

Sorry to hear about your a/c

Sears delivery and repairmen are overworked and understaffed. They overbook their workers and it ends up causing a back log of customers and frustrations. Not the same company that it used to be.

Sears in Hearne, Texas - Told me 251.00 would cover all repairs

Never buy anything from sears. Liars and cheats. Repairman said it would be another 365.00 to cover the repairs extra. It took 3 weeks to even look at it and if I wanted it fixed the part would take ten days to get. The refidgerator is only 6 years old and the compressor went out-a high dollar stainless piece of junk. By from local private owned appliance centers even if its a little more expensive. Oh but they did give me 250.00 toward a new piece of junk fridge. I will buy the cheapest one they have for the garage it will only last a few years than to the trash. R.H. in Texas

The only reason they are charging you for a new part is cause you opted not to get the extended warranty or the warranty plan that covers repairs and parts. .

.yet you blame sears cause you were too cheap to get a extended warranty on your fridge, when are people gonna stop blaming the place they buy stuff and take responsibility for themselves? Never, that's why we have people like you bickering on sites like this/

Sears in Baltimore, Maryland - Worst Customer Support - Lost a Customer

Fairly new dryer wouldn't start. Made appt using web site. Appt not kept - no notice. Made second appt. Two days prior, appt rescheduled for 10 days further out. Not acceptable so called customer support (4 tries) to escalate. manager says he will resolve and call back next day. No return call and phone number given for "jut in case" for another department. Called customer service (2 tries) escalated to manager and got number for "routing office" to schedule. Had original appt rebooked. App not kept - no call. Called customer support - no help. Called Sears corporate - could not speak to management. Would not take number to call back. So ... 3 1/2 weeks with no dryer and no appt. Have been Sears customer since 1968 - Will now throw out washer/dryer, buy new Samsung, and never deal with Sears again Deal with sears at you risk.

Sears sucks

More specifically, Sears Warranty and Customer Service Sucks! I have been sitting here with a broken washing machine for 5 weeks. Sears has been here 4 times and has cancelled an appointment without explanation once. I still have no washing machine and customer service couldn't be less helpful and more apologetic. But apologies won't wash my clothes. I would avoid their appliances and definitely the extended warranty, which will put you at their mercy. Also, many appliance repair people won't repair a sears machine, another reason to avoid sears appliances. They used to be great, now they aren't.

why does it take a month to repair an in warranty lawn mower. going without a lawn mower for a month is a real problem. Most shops have repairs made in days , not weeks or months ? i took my mower in 6-11, Sears promised it 6/22 which i thought was way to long but had no choice, now they call to say it wont be ready until july ????????????? the mower is 6 months old, and Sears will have it a month. when you try to file a compliaint by their website, ironically when you submit the complaint after filling it all out, the website cvannot be found and so the email is never senmt, how convienient. When you try to call you are on hold until you give up and hang up. horrible service

Sears cancels contract & keeps money!

On 4/11 I entered into a layaway contract with Sears to purchase a Samsung television at The Pacificview mall in Ventura, Ca.I arrived this A.M.for final payment & pickup to find the contract cancelled, the result of a $0.86 error made by a Sears employee on the previous payment.I had to return later in the day to meet with a manager, "Jerry" informed Me "nothing can be done sir, You can expect a check in about ten working days! Should I consider this a loan or theft on the part of Sears? To date I'm out $740.00 & have no television. If You require customer service with Your purchase, look elsewhere, You won't find it at Sears. I recently read an article on MSN about companies not expected to be arounrd in 10 years, Sears was on this list! P.S. I think maybe if you sign a contract THAT YOU SHOULD READ IT! Your contract was probably cancelled and mailed a bank check because you were LATE on your payment.

WHICH is in your contract.

So maybe as a consumer you should be more aware of what you are signing instead of blamming others for your tardiness. You aren't out your money, they are sending it to you in the mail, if you weren't late on your payment, that wouldn't of happened.

Sorry to hear you lost out on a product cause someone doesn't know how to do math. But were you even offered another Samsung TV in respect to they didn't have the one you had on layaway?

If I were you I would have asked they sell you a similar model, or model discounted for the price you paid for the prior model. To save the sale and good customer service some stores will do that. If not well at least your getting your money back.

Honestly I don't think layaway is even worth it. Don't have the money to buy something, then don't buy it or place it on credit.

Well there lies the issue however. Your home is old as you say.

Installing a central air system would be expensive. However I do not blame you and blame Sears for not doing what I think they should have done from the begining, which is doing a complete inspection of your home before quoting a price on installing such a system.

Most contractors will do a free quality visit and explain what issues may occur and costs, leaving you with a estimated cost and mind set to decide if doing such a job is worth it. Sorry to hear you've been inconvenienced by this.

Sears in San Jose, California - Hasn't refunded my money; 18 days now!

I purchased a refigerator a month ago. I cancelled the order after two delivery appointments were cancelled, yet I was never notified of the cancellation. On June 1, I cancelled and was told my refund would be returned to me in 7-10 days. I felt this was ridiculous as I had paid with my VISA and all they had to do was reverse the charge. Well, I still don't have my refund and today is day 18. I have gotten the runaround from the store manager, customer service, accounts payable, etc. I was told today that a CHECK went out 4 days ago. Why wasn't my VISA credited? No one knows why! I was also told the check could take up to a week to receive. Do I need to say that Sears is in violation of their return policy? I am furious and quite sure this practice violates some consumer protection law. I will NEVER step foot in another Sears again. There are many other retailers that will do business with me in an honest fashion.

I bought a watch from Sears in April 2010 and still waiting, they blame UPS and UPS is saying it delivered I dont know where they delivered but looks like they just ripoff customers.

Its 3 months now.
