Sears review in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania: Sear Warranty Service is the worst

We called for warranty service for an elite refrigerator and were given an appointment 2 weeks later. Two days before the appointment we were rescheduled for another week later! Who can wait three weeks for a refrigerator repair?? We contacted the complaint dept and were essentially told to beat it. This is a high end piece of equipment and we have had trouble from day one. The refrigerator is junk and the service is also. We have owned may Sears appliances over the past 30 years but will never purchase anything from Sears ever again. Anyone who purchases Sears products Beware! What they tell you in the store is not what happens when you have the product in your home.

On our third try today to get our treadmill fixed. This is the peak of incompetency.

We waited ALL day the last two times. Today we were scheduled 8-12. No calls no nothing as usual. I called in and they said they may be able to make it by 5:00PM.

We cant afford to take any more days off so I guess we will have to find a different solution. I STRONGLY recomend you pass on this non service they offer.

They cashed the check quickly but then dont show up. We are done with Sears and their affiliates, it has gone so far down hill it is not worth the agravation.

I was scheduled for a repair of my air conditioner between 1p and 5p on August 24th. I waited for the repairman and when he did not arrive by 4:45, I contacted sears.

The person I spoke to stated the truck broke down and they would be unable to come back to my home until September 11th. I was not notified that truck broke down until I had called them. I spoke with someone at the corporate office, who basically made excuses and I remained unable to make a closer appointment. I was already upset with sears as I had a problem with them previously I will describe below.

I only called sears to repair my air conditioner because it is a Kenmore.

Approx 1 month previously I had problems with my washing machine. I contacted a local appliance repairman who stated based on my description of problem it would cost more to repair than to buy a new one. I picked out a washing machine at sears and scheduled delivery.

The night before the delivery, my fiance' who has experience working on washing machines looked at it, and we thought problem was due to metal piece in motor. I contacted sears and left a message on touchtone that I did not need washer. Literally 15 minutes later my fiance found another problem and stated needed replaced. I called sears back and they stated they could not deliver because their computer system rescheduled the drivers route and it could be changed.

They could not reschedule delivery for two weeks. (Long time without a washing machine). I spoke with many people and was yelled at and hung up on. I cannot say how many people I spoke with that were rude to me.

Two people stated they would call me back and never did. I asked to speak with corporate and was transferred to Traverse City store. (Could not have been an accident as local is the opposite of Corporate).

In the end I bought a washer from best buy with easy delivery and I spoke with people instead of a machine. I will need to buy a lawn mower and probably an air conditioner this fall and will not buy from Sears again.

Sears does not stand behind their appliances

I bought a refrigerator from Sears. It froze everything in the frig. I called them 5 times to come and fix it, mind you it was brand new. The 6th time I called and demanded a replacement. They said no. They said "if I read the contract for their service agreement then I would know that they don't replace, they only fix." The problem was never fixed. I ended up taking a head of cabbage into the store and bounced it on the salesman"s desk. He laughed and said he wished there was something he could do to help.Lesson learned. I've told anyone who will listen about the "Sears Policy" and now I'm telling you folks here. I will never step foot into a Sears store again!!!!

Dear Ahleeda,

Please accept my apology for he tardy response to your post here. I'm Scott with Sears Cares Escalations. I'm so sorry to hear your refrigerator required so much service and caused you so much stress and inconvenience. Although it is true that certain Sears warranties do only provision for repair & not replacement, it is definitely unacceptable for an item to require so much service in short period of time. We'd like to look into this issue and offer you assistance. At your convenience please contact my office via email at searscares@searshc.com so that we can assist with resolving this issue. Please provide us a contact number and the phone number the refrigerator was purchased under and we will call you at your convenience. In addition, include your screen name (Ahleeda) in the email so we can reference to your case.

Thank you,

Scott J.

Labor laws differ from state to state and company to company. But sears has a policy that an associate must take their meal break before 5th hour mark and must not work no more than 4 hours 45 mins before being required to take a meal break. If they don't they can be written up/warned and if it persists can be terminated. Reason behind it is state labor laws, state(s) will penalize a company for meal break violations.

So don't *** about the guy who went on lunch and didn't submit to helping you, blame yourself for voting/not voting in state elections when it comes to labor practices. . .

Lastly the eyeglass place and others like dental are not run by sears but contracted with sears. They can run their business as long as it is within company policy. SOOO don't blame Sears for not getting your eyewear but the guy who is contracted with them.

A sensible business person (unlike Tasha who is absolutely clueless) would have waited on the customer and then eaten lunch.

Good for you Mikie! I would have given someone else my business too!

I bet if you were on your lunch you would do the same thing.

Sears review in Roswell, Georgia: Stuck it 2 me

I just purchased eyeglasses from your Jefferson Mall store due to your ad in the Louisville Ky Sunday Courier coupon ads. The ad shows a 30% discount for AARP members of which I am one. The young lady that waited on me claimed this was a seperate offer and said this was clarified in the small print of which I could not read. After magnifying above and carefully reading I don't agree and feel I have a refund coming. I'm not really P O'd but after all your ad is not very firmly portrayed, yet it's what drew me into Sears. Thanks, Tom Saunders

Sears review in Washington, District Of Columbia: Delivery was scheduled 3 time and 3 times was told delivery was not scheduled.

Washer from Sears was delivered not working. Drivers refused to take it back. Delivery of new washer was scheduled 3 times and 3 times was told delivery was not scheduled. Still have broken washer. Disgraceful way to treat a customer. Will take legal action if this is not resolved. Now we are told we are scheduled for Sunday, somehow I do not believe Sears. I will never purchase any applicances from Sears again and will inform my family and friends to stay away from a store that lies to its customers. I always thought Sear"s was a trustworthy store.

Spent $5000 - Sears won't make right their broken washer

I wish we had never spent $5000 on two refrigerators, a washer and a dryer. Sears customer service is sooooooooooo bad and I am so frustrated, we contacted a lawyer. We even paid extra for an extended warranty and it is doing no good. This isn't right and I don't know how to tell people everywhere what Sears is doing to us. I hope people read and believe what people like myself are experiencing with Sears and re-think whether to buy any more appliances from them. We are so upset that no one from this company will help us.

Sears review in Sarnia, Ontario: Sear Canada protection agreement big SCAM

Sear Canada, will sell you appliances that will break down within 12 months period..and their protection agreement does not pay any services to the client..once they got your money. On Oct 2008 I purchased a $3500.00Kitchen Aid double door fridge..Within 6 month the problems began..The technician advice to me was I to get a protection agreement as soon as possible, since I was going to go through many more repairs. So I did!. On Nov 2009 my fridge started to freeze on the top shelve. By Jan 2010 the refrigareator became a frezeer..All my food began to freeze from top to the bottom shelve.I called the service department the technician came two weeks after to access the problem. He order a new part which took 2 3weeks to arrive..and it was the wrong part..I waited for another 3 weeks. The problem persisted..the same part has been change 3 times. Other parts had also been changed and until now I am still serving every morning frozen milk to my children for breakfast. The eggs and vegetables get frozen and end up in the trash. I had asked for a new fridge, according to the protection agreement after 3 repairs I should get a new fridge or my money back..However, SEARS refuses to refund or exchange the fridge, because as long as the fridge is reparable and pieces are available and the technician does not called it IRREPARABLE..I am not entitle to a new fridge.I guess I will have to live with a fridge that is constantly in need of repair and continue buying their protection agreement. The fridge will continue to break down every month. The technician will never call it irreparable, because , as long as he can find parts and change it even it the part breaks down again within a week.he does not care he got a job. For sure he will never be out of job!!as long as he can change parts!! As per today Aug 18 my fridge was still waiting for a part that was order 4 weeks ago, the technician show up at my place with the wrong part again.. So far I had have 4 repairs done to the fridge and 3 wrong parts order. Sad to said that for the past 8 months a huge multinational corporation in North America has failed to care his costumer and their product ***!! I will never buy big ticket item at SEAR CANADA...again.I had spoken to friends about this issue and they also had had they share with SEARS Next step will be consumer report complain and court.

Sears Sercice Agreement Bull ***

I called Sears on August 2 for an appointment for a tech to look at my A/C unit. No call back. Finally on Tuesday August 10 we get a call. They tell me the technician is down, whatever that means. There is no technician in my area to come check out my unit. I call them for 2 weeks with promises they will call me back. No one ever calls. My A/C unit has been leaking all over my basement since last summer. We called about it last summer and got the *** around and gave up. Now there is mold growing on the ducts and the vents are condensating on my wood floor around every vent. We've been getting empty promises for 2 weeks. Do not buy the service agreement. It's full of great things and you think "Oh wow I'll never have to spend anything to get my stuff fixed" well it's all ***. My next call will be to a lawyer.

Sears ripped us off

I registered my wedding with Sears.ca My cousin ordered an espresso maker (which was on sale at the time - ya!) and had it sent to the store for pickup. I got a call from Sears to come pick up my item and, by the time I arrive, Sears decided that the item was damaged and shipped it back to their warehouse (or wherever). Fine - problem is that Sears now expects my cousin to again order the item and me to come pick it up again. Ok, so that's annoying and ***, but whatever. When my cousin orders the item again, it is no longer on sale and he has to pay full price! So, Sears screws up their delivery, screws up by sending it back, screws up by making me come in for nothing - and for all their screw ups, they expect us to pay more. I contacted Sears many times before getting them to agree that all of this was their screw up and getting them to refund the difference. I've been trying to contact them to prove that they didn't screw up AGAIN - to make sure this is resolved properly. They've ignore me... You've been warned...
