There's a faction of the company that believes they can make just as much off of hourly service calls AND more importantly sell them service or a protection agreement of somekind.So you get to bill the customer and sell them a plan at the sametime.

Home service is getting like carry-in repair service in which many people don't realize that sometimes they only ship out repair one or two times a week-same for receiving.Basically when you get it nobody knows.

Unless the company spends more on overtime and training there won't be enough techs for faster reposne times.

And speaking of reading alot of store associates don't read these things either.Especially on the repair agreement or carry-in service they'll sell the agreements to contractors which use the item commercially which is not covered.

They really are hoping you won't use them period

Purchased a Sears installed garage opener, wouldn't fully work with car. Sears would not replace. Do Not buy at sears. Manager rude. Hot line said they must support manager in field. Sears insisted that I buy an upgraded opener, and that I pay the installation charges. The manager was very rude to my wife and me, and when we called the hot line, they simply said, that they must go with what the manager in the field decided, and would not allow me talk to regional manager or anyone else. Seems highly unfair. As a consumer I see how I would be committed to the service call.

A decent service technician would tell you that you need a new fuse which would cost you $ xxxx. In my mind your bill should be cost of fuse and service call.

I had a different company come out diagnose and give me estimate of $350.00 However he could not fix the TV so I paid him agreed upon price of service call.

Is it possible to check if these technicians meet the training requirements? Are they certified?

I am going to check with the consumer protection agency and see what they have to say about "Carlo"and Sears.

I was on my way to call them to see if they would come in to give me a second openion. You convinced me to look else where.

I don't have an issues with the store. Our Saleman Jose Duarte was

great. He explained things about washer/dryers. He advised us and assist us

in our selection. Great to work with. However the delivery was the issue. We

were told our purchase would arrive between 3:30pm and 5:30pm. At 5:30 Jose

gave me the 1-800 number to contact the delivery section. The lady that

answered was too busy repeating "Thank you", "I will look that up" and "I

apologize". When I explained I had taken off work to wait on this she

wouldn't say a word.

Next the delivery guys called me. They begin talking about coming tomorrow.

I asked if they could come tonight. They asked me how far I was away from

them. Stop and think about that. I told them I didn't know where they were

so I couldn't tell them how far away they were. Really smart guys. I told

them to take it back to the store.

This is the second time this same issue has happened with your company.

In Jan 2006 we moved into our new home. We ordered all our refrigerator,

stove, oven, & microwave 30 days before we wanted them delivered. We called

to ensure they would be delivered on the correct day 7 and 3 days out. The

day of the delivery you no showed us. I canceled my order and went to Lowes.

That same day, a few hours later Lowes delivered what we ordered. The cost

was a total of $125.00 more. Worth every dime. Now we are doing the exactly

the same thing with our washer/dryer. Great products, good saleman and then

you blow it with a cheap delivery company. All totaled Sears lost about

$5000.00 of business because you wanted to save a few dollars on delivery.

How many sales do you have to have return items until it starts being worth

hiring a delivery company that won't make promises it can't keep. We hoped

after two years something would have gotten better. No such luck.

Washer/dryer from Lowes? Also cheaper.

Sears appliance customer service lies

Sears on line appliance scheduling and service is totally unreliable and there is no guarantee that anyone will show up. After scheduling a service call on my refrigerator where I got to pick the day and time of my service call on line I gave Sears $75,00 and I thought I was set. 5 hours into when I was suppose to have service, I called a service line off shore and was told to reschedule. I lost $75,00 plus a half day of work and my refrigerator is still not fixed. I am going to spend $5,000 on new kitchen appliances and I will never ever buy appliances from Sears because even if the product is good the customer service is not. Sears does not get what customer service should be which is why they are a second rate retailer and losing market share. Sears forgot what made them a major company and forgot that great customer service is what make good companies great

Alot of times when you order off the internet it is simply pulled off the store shelf.

It almost sounds like a store or department manager doesn't want to depart with that item at the internet price.

An order means the store doesn't have it.Which means why the heck are they fighting you or price if not from store stock.

And unless they can show a notice or retraction that a sale price was wrong they have to honor that price.

Besides corporate hq you could try the local BBB.

Sears also strong arms you into paying a separate service call charge for each appliance. I had them work on three appliances, there less than 30 minutes, installed one part at $24.00 and wanted $600.00 for service call.

There were a number of issues with setting an appointment as well. I will not use Sears again.

Sears in New York, New York - Held phone 46 mins. trying to get repairman

On Aug. 11, 2008, I was on the phone for 46 mins., spoke to 5 different people, giving my name,etc. each time, in an attempt to have a repairman come to service my 7 month old washer. Excuses--"we can't schedule an appointment because you aren't in the computer." "Are you sure this is the washer you own?" The final gentleman I spoke with asked me to get the model and serial numbers so that he could put it in the computer. The repairman was prompt and courteous, ordered the part and rescheduled for 8/26. When part had not arrived 8/25, I wasted 17 more mins. on the phone to learn the part was back ordered with no promised delivery date.My home is filled wirh Kenmore appliances but there won't be any more due to this horrible phone experience.
