I just Googled "I Hate Sears" and I can't believe the number of entries. Here's my particular tale: First off, I am so beside myself I want to hurl my very expensive front loading Kenmore washer out the window and unto the lap of a Sears Board Member....

Sears in Chicago, Illinois - Messed up my order and installation totally

I ordered a dishwasher with installation online at Sears.com on 8/6 and the confirmation of the order stated that I would be contacted within 24hrs. for delivery date and time. I called the store on 8/11, nobody answered the phone, called Sears.com, they told me I would get a phone call from the local store manager. Repeat the previous sequence about 12 more times. My dishwasher was delivered with no installation order on 8/15. Repeated calls, etc. Sears.com has been helpful, and again contacted my local store manager, and was told that I would be contacted by the end of the day. Not. Today after four phone calls, Sears said that they could put in an installation order and "someone would call me back". I am having it picked up and returned.

Sears repair man did not show

I am very disappointed in Sears appliance repair and their lack of customer service. My washer broke on Monday August 11 and the earliest appointment I could get was August 15. The tech did not show on August 15 and after repeated attempts I was not able to get an appointment on August 16. I was told I did not have an appointment on the 16Th. I think I should be automatically scheduled the 1st appointment on the 16th. I have been on the phone over 5 hours trying to get this resolved. I will never but another appliance from Sears!!!!!!

What is happening to customer service??? It seems like no one is interested in keeping customers anymore.

Are the big companies really making that much money. I too have had bad experiences with Sears Service Department.

Sears in Ann Arbor, Michigan - Failed to show during promised time

I set up an appointment for August 1st, 2008 to have Sears come out and repair my oven. On July 31, 2008 I received a computer generated phone call on my cell phone confirming the appointment and advising me that the technician would call me before he came out. The time frame given was between 12:00 and 4:00pm. At 4:00pm on August 1st, 2008 my wife called Sears to be told that the technician had called our land line number and did not receive an answer so he did not come out. My wife set up a new appointment for today, August 15th, 2008 between 8am and 12:00. At 12:00 I called Sears at 1-800-469-4663. I was told that the operator would send a message to the technician and the technician would phone me and let me know what time he would be here. It is now 1:17pm and still no phone call. I am now calling Sears a second time, talked to Chad, told me I am still on the list to be repaired today. Asked to talk to supervisor. Transferred to Joann who transferred me to someone who could tell me where exactly my technician is. I am still on the list to be repaired today according to Marieena. I will never call Sears again.

Sears Ceo Lewis is a liar.

I purchase a whirlpool dishwasher fro Sears in March of 2008. August the 6Th it went out August 8Th Sears repair tech came out and said that he suggest that they put a new one in because it cost more to fix it than a brand new one would cost.Make a long story short I am loosing 800.00 in rental income on my condo this weekend due to dishwasher not working. The reason I said Lewis is a lair is he states 100% satisfaction and you are only as good as your boss is.Thank you very much

Sears in Dallas, Texas - OVER PROMISED AND UNDERDELIVERED

I purchased a dishwasher in March 08 it went out an it cost more to fixed it than replace it and they will not have it fixed until August 29th.They have lied to me several times this week.I will never do business with sears and I hope that one day they go under. If I ran my business like that I would. The CEO of Sears has got to be a crook because you are only as good as the boss is.It is a whirlpool dishwasher and if nothing else they should stand behind it.Thank you

Sears in Bridgeport, Connecticut - Made service appt, waited all day, they never showed

Sears, sold us a service contract on my lawn tractor. Except every time I go to use it, even when I tell the technician that takes the call what the problem is, and even the part number, and we make an appointment for the service technician to come and do the repair, they call the day before, a recorded message, to confirm the date that they are coming. It states they will be there anytime between the hours of 8-5, as if our time is worth nothing. So you sit and wait all day and like today, get a call at 5:22PM that they can't make it. If they do show up it is without the needed parts because "they have to order it". Then it is shipped to me. which takes another 3-5 days or longer, but they make an appt to come back in one weeks time hoping the part will be here. Then they will call the day before the next appt. and say I couldn't possibly have received it yet, and leave a message that they are cancelling the appt. for the next day, which has happened in the past. When I get the message and call them back to tell them I have the part, they say it's too late we have already cancelled your appt for the next day and you'll have to reschedule for next week. The next week, if they show up and don't call after I have waited all day, saying they are not coming, it may get fixed. Except they don't have all the parts because they forgot to order them all or ship them all. Is this because I use the service contract or just poor service! Now as for today's disaster, I'd like to know what Sears is going to do since I told them it was not freaking acceptable, and when I asked the the caller his name he refused to give it to me and conveniently disconnected me. I too have had it with Sears and would like to know if there is someone that has got a class action suit against them that I can join, because they don't seem to care about their customers.

Sears

I asked for a price check on a jacket, I decided that I didn't want. The sales clerk charged me for the jacket along with the other items I purchased. When I got home I went over my receipt and saw I was charged 29.99 for a jacket I didn't buy. I called the Sears store when I got home, I call and was disconnected three times. The manager of the department was rude. It's a trip at 4.00 a gallon of gas and my time. I won't shop at Sears again after this experience.

Sears has done a horrible job delivering a dishwasher that was purchased with a warranty and delivery charge all paid for up front. After almost two months of phone calls for lack of delivery when scheduled, they can not even locate the dishwasher and keep passing me to their deliver people who are usually off when I call them so no one has access to the case information--Their system does not recognize my phone number every time I call so I need to re-share my information to them--they never have adequate information on an escalated case so I repeat my story at least 6 times now and they seem very concerned and NEVER call me back-

What is most appalling is that Sears, a brand you would consider taking care of a problem, continues to pass the buck when the sale is in their name and they don't even share who they "outsource" this to-They will be reported to the appropriate agencies for this disregard of delivering on a contract-6/28/2011
