DON'T BUY FROM SEARS

Just got off the phone with Sears. Have been trying to get my washer (that's less than a year old) repaired. Already had someone out yesterday and he said he fixed it. He left without running it to make sure it was fixed. Called yesterday afternoon after I realized it was still down and rescheduled a repair for this morning (8am-12pm). I was told I was the first appt. of the day. At 10:30 I called the repair center and they had the guy call me. He said he's call me when he was finished with his current appt. to give me a better time frame of when he'd be out. He never called. I ran some errands, but he had my cell phone number. He never called. I came home and found a message from the repair center saying I needed to call them with a time I'd be home. I called. They said he tried calling me on my home and cell phone. He did not. I have caller ID and an answering machine at home and I had my cell phone on me the entire time I was gone. So they wanted to reschedule for next week and I said no, I had to have clean clothes for my family next week. They said he'd be out between 1pm and 5pm today and he would call me. He never called. At 4:55pm I called the repair center. They said there was no one available to come out tonight, I have to wait until next week. I asked to speak with a supervisor and the girl would not transfer me - instead she continued to argue with me for 10 minutes. Finally, she said the supervisor was on the phone and I told her I'd hold. I finally was able to speak with a supervisor but it didn't do me any good. SOOO - now I have to wait until Monday to get my washer fixed. For someone who's supposed to be a PREMIER customer - I sure didn't get the customer service. I have owned Kenmore appliances for many years, however in December when I have to buy a dryer and dishwasher, I will not be going to Sears. You shouldn't either!!

Sears plumber thinks he can rip me off.

I just bought new water heater at Lincoln Park Sears in Michigan. However, the plumber from Sears did not fix it correct because the pipe is leaking heavily. He told me that it will cost around 2 thousand dollars. So I called my cousin, the pipefitter and he inspected the pipe and told me that Sears plumber did it on purpose so that he can get more money from me. My cousin already fixed it and no problem. I reported this to Sears manager and it was not enough. I feel that Sears tried to rip me off because they probably think I am easy prey because of my deafness.

Sears used to carry maybe 4 or 5 basic Kenmore models in the past. They were much simplier and cheaper.

But over the last decade the percentage of higher end more complex models has put a strain on the service department. And the cost of the appliance also makes it less likely for the company just to replace it.

At the same time Sears was increasing it's higher end sales it really didn't do the corresponding amount to train it's techs or even hire enough techs.

Sears has to realize with the prices people are paying for the unit and service the level of service should go up with the price. This isn't 10-15 years ago when appliances were cheaper and more basic with less features.

The more features an appliance has the more that can go wrong. The higher prices people pay for things the more they will expect out of it.I think Sears is quite literally not up to speed on that concept.

If this isn't a Kenmore or Sears product I would contact the actual manufacturer to let them know the problems you are having with the refrigerator and Sears.

Sears Delivery

I don't have an issues with the store. Our Saleman Jose Duarte was great. He explained things about washer/dryers. He advised us and assist us in our selection. Great to work with. However the delivery was the issue. We were told our purchase would arrive between 3:30pm and 5:30pm. At 5:30 Jose gave me the 1-800 number to contact the delivery section. The lady that answered was too busy repeating "Thank you", "I will look that up" and "I apologize". When I explained I had taken off work to wait on this she wouldn't say a word. Next the delivery guys called me. They begin talking about coming tomorrow. I asked if they could come tonight. They asked me how far I was away from them. Stop and think about that. I told them I didn't know where they were so I couldn't tell them how far away they were. Really smart guys. I told them to take it back to the store. This is the second time this same issue has happened with your company. In Jan 2006 we moved into our new home. We ordered all our refrigerator, stove, oven, & microwave 30 days before we wanted them delivered. We called to ensure they would be delivered on the correct day 7 and 3 days out. The day of the delivery you no showed us. I canceled my order and went to Lowes. That same day, a few hours later Lowes delivered what we ordered. The cost was a total of $125.00 more. Worth every dime. Now we are doing the exactly the same thing with our washer/dryer. Great products, good saleman and then you blow it with a cheap delivery company. All totaled Sears lost about $5000.00 of business because you wanted to save a few dollars on delivery. How many sales do you have to have return items until it starts being worth hiring a delivery company that won't make promises it can't keep. We hoped after two years something would have gotten better. No such luck. Washer/dryer from Lowes? Also cheaper.

Sears sold me an unfixable product

I bought a Beverage cooler (a mini refrigerator) from Sears.Only had it for about 5 months. It cam with a dent in the door, they replace door, it had a broken tab, replace tab, this is the good part. The condenser got *** in it, freon all in my basement. I called the sent a tech out a week later ( I took off a day from work ). Said they will get the part and repair the frig. got the part. Two weeks later a Tech came to but the part in and said they needed another part. Found out the part is not available . Now the tell me it is no longer warranted. two days off from work. I called source one explained to them what happened. the said the have to send the head Technician to conferm the problem. now this is the 3rd day off from work. The technician called me at 11:00 ( the appointment is from 8 am to 12 noon what a window) and said their is no reason to come there so he did not show up. now I only had the frig for about 5 months . They wont fix it and if I want to fix it. I can not because there is no parts for the frig. I am self employed carpenter so every day off is money.I could have bought a new one with all the days off. If anyone else want to jump on this with their experience. email me eferraioli@verizon.net. My friend is a layer that is going to help. This is wrong what big companies do. Do not buy from SEARS OR KMART , SEARS AND KMART ARE ONE COMPANY NOW

I purchased an item at Sears. Here is the SALESCHECK # 023085416850. The cashier offered me a $15 discount, if I applied for a Sears Card. I asked if there were any fees for the card, and she said no. So I signed up. Later that night, I looked over my receipt and it...

Sears does not back their products

I hate SEARS. Never buy from them because they do not stand by there products. I bought a mattress and box spring from Sears in 2001. Now the bed is wire frame is broken and it is sagging very badly. Sears sent a man to look at the mattress and he took pictures and wrote all the problems down. He said that he would be submitting everything that day which was a Friday. Monday comes and I get a call that I bought the bed in 1993 and they would not cover anything on the bed. My husband called to inform them that the mattress was purchased in 2001 and we paid full price. The the mattress also comes with a 10 year none pro-rated warranty. So my husband called to inform this to them and he was told the computer is down and that someone should be calling the next day. So here is the next day and I phoned just to get everything moving. I was informed that someone from another department will be looking at the file and get back in a couple days. I asked to speak to the person who takes who will be looking into it and was told they do not speak to the public. So I asked for a supervisor and was told everyone in that department is a supervior and I have call the highest department. Boy what a joke. In the spring my dryer that I purchased from them broke down. So I called service to get is fixed. After 4 different service men came it was still not working. Again no one would speak to me on this matter. I am disabled and taking my clothes to the laundry mat is not very easy. I informed Sears of this and I got sorry. How can a company send 4 different service men with at least one to two weeks apart and not be able to fix my dryer. I was told in an email from Sears that a would get a $40.00 gift certificate for my troubles. I never got the gift certificate and my husband fixed the dryer. So here I sit waiting and waiting for Sears to do the right thing. (ha ha what a joke) Never again will I buy any major item from them.
