Sears voided my warranty before even looking at my appliance

We bought an extended warranty on our refridgerator since it was now at 5 years old. As luck would have it, the refridgerator started having problems 10 days after the warranty was purchased. I called Sears and set up an appointment. I took the day off of work and waited all day. At about 4:30 I called Sears to make sure they were still coming and they let me know that they cancelled the appointment. I asked why and they informed me that they service person decided to cancel the warranty, but he would still come out if I would pay him cash. He never even came to see what the problem was. I called a local service guy and my bill came to a total of $105. I'm sure if Sears would have come it would have been much more. Almost all my appliances and equiptment in my home are Kenmore, but i will never shop at Sears again.

We are in the middle of an ordeal with Sears repair. We turned on our relatively new air conditioner because we knew a warm up was coming. It didn't work, so we call the service number on Monday (05/26). I get somebody in India who thinks that if they use an...

If Sears's call centers are in the US why did everyone I speak with sound India? I had big go around with Sears on my Fridge.

The tech didn't show after we receive the part and we lost 200 dollars worth of food. We got the blue light special of tech people.

Sears Holdings uses Bait & Switch on Sony TV

Sears Holdings advertised a 1080, 50” Sony TV. I went to the store in Utica, Michigan and purchased the TV for just under $1,400. I picked up the TV and went back to my office. I looked at the box and found that the TV was labeled as a 720. I returned to the store within 45 minutes and the clerks said that the ad was incorrect and would not be honored. They would give me $100 off of the current TV if I would keep it. I told the salesman that the process was called “bait and switch” and is highly illegal. Sears only lists their part number and not the model number of the TV on the receipt. This makes it very convenient to switch products if the customer is not attentive. I asked for the store manager and she was very angry but did give me her business card. She said that Sears Holdings is not responsible for any mistakes in their ads. The ad clearing listed the model number and specifications. The salesman stated the ad was valid and in fact sold another TV at the same time I bought mine. The couple did return to the store minutes before my return but they took the additional $100 discount. The discounted price on the 720, 50” Sony is no real bargain. Sears just swapped the model using their own product code. In this manner Sears can switch the 1080 TV with a lower cost 720. If the customer does not notice, they sold the TV at market price. If the customer returns the TV some will take the $100 discount and think they received a good price. This is just modern day bait and switch. I returned the TV and would love to have a lawyer and the BBB pursue action against the new Sears Holding for this poor behavior. I wonder what Roebuck would have said about the new behavior at Sears Holdings? .

No kidding. If I'm going to spend $1,000 on ANYTHING, I'm going to read the box.

And I defy all but the sharpest eyes in the world to be able to tell the difference between a 720 and 1080.

Either way, you got a deal, and you accepted it. Walk it off.

This is why you should always check the boxes first. Is it sleazy?

Absolutely. But it's completely avoidable.

Sears in Winnipeg, Manitoba - Is my name on your screw up list

I am getting fed up of constantly having my orders screwed up or not being delivered on the arrival date. I have a Birthday party for my kids and I get a notice to pick up my parcel. Fine and dandy but my parcel was to be delivered in Manitoba NOT Rosetown Saskatchewan. My kids once again have to wait till after Christmas or Birthdays to get their gifts. It's becoming a miracle if I get something on the promise date from SEARS Canada. I have spent alot of money with SEARS and would think the Service to paying customers would be alot better then what it is. To get those parcels delivered from Saskatchewan to Manitoba for the next day in time for the party would cost 700.00 but because the extent of the cost my kids have to wait till the middle of the week for UPS to deliver on normal rates. I mean sure it happens on occasion and delivered to a wrong town but NOT a province away. This is now habitual and I'm thinking of withdrawing my credit card and any dealings with SEARS Canada unless they seriously get their *** together and start giving the service their customers deserve.

Sears Online disconnect

Recently tried to buy a Samsung tv from Sears. I purchased the LCD online, and was told I could pick it up at my local Sears. Well, they never contacted me on the due date, and when I called they said it would take another 2-3 days. When that day came I called them again, and was told to wait two more days. Called *again* and they said it was ready. But it was the wrong tv!! Local Sears manager blamed Online Sears manager, and vice versa. I never did get my tv and it took 2 weeks for my refund!!

Sears Service Hasn't Fixed My Refrigerator after 11 days

My refrig blew on Sunday 5/18, Sears sent an incompetent Tech 5/19, even with the entire house reaking of refrigerant he said there was nothing wrong. Second Tech came 5/21 and found *** in the evaperator coil in 5 min., called his boss and advised to replace refrig. his boss insisted replace compressor, evaporator, coolant coil and motor. Parts were delivered 5/22, set up third service call even though tech. admited he never seen this extensive repair work. On 5/23 Sears broke appt. resch. for 5/28. it's been 11 days without a refrig. and little hope for tomorrow. Shop anywhere but Sears, esp. for service. Lost $350 of food and cost $300 so far to feed my family at fast food and resturants. I wrote to CEO hope it helps. My e-mail is ljs911@nyc.rr.com and suggestions help. Larry

I am having the same issue right now. What is the point of PAYING for this extended warranty if they refuse to take care of issues when they happen?

My lawnmower cost me $150 and they want $150 for the repairs.

I think I'll just buy a new mower... but this time without the warranty plan!

Sears--Do not buy from them!

We bought a LG Washer & Dryer from Sears. The delivery and install was horrible. The washer leaked through my floor, wall, ceiling into my den. We had to shut the water off to stop the pour. We have spent the last 1 1/2 days trying to contact them to get it fixed. We now have to contact their insurance adjuster next week to assess the damages. When asked if they could credit my cc the delivery charge, they said they could not do it. Great customer no service! The national center did offer me a $100 gift card for my trouble. Makes we want to buy more from sears, doesn't it? Don't buy your appliances from Sears!
