Sears Repair Center - arrogant, condescending and unhelpful
I am so mad with Sears just now I am writing to every complaints forum I can find! Yet again the Repair Center thinks it perfectly legitimate to waste customer's time with impunity. I waited in all afternoon for the service man. Not only was he a no- show, Customer Service informed me I would be added to the end of the line as if they were doing me a favor! Their total lack of interest in serving the customer is arrogant beyond belief! And that infuriating voice recognition system that you have to go through before speaking to someone is the worst ever!
Ripped off by sears service phone agent
I was in need of service on a 2 years old refrigerator that was out of warranty. When I called in to schedule service an unscrupulous phone agent told me that an extended warranty would be $75. I signed up, had the warranty service, then noted a $250 charge on my visa card. Apparently the systems at Sears are quite broken. The receipt for our service call showed a new ice maker. Our refrig doesn't have an ice maker. My refrig cost $400 new. Why would I pay $250 for a warranty? I would have bought a new refrigerator. I thought Sears had ethics. Are these out of control employees and contractors, or a company gone bad? I called customer service and also sent them email, but no luck. I'll not be buying an more Sears products.
This is a warning to anyone who has purchased a washing machine from Sears. I have recently discovered that it is Sears official policy to take away the shipping bolts that are fitted to washing machines. These are fitted by the manufacturer to prevent internal damage...
Sears in Johnstown, Pennsylvania - Do not trust Sear's payment policy you will be lied to
Let me start by saying do not alway's believe what you read. I made a payment on my Sear's bill on 3-19-08, that was the due date of my payment, it was made in store at the register. A few day's later I received my new statement, it said that I was late with my last payment, so they charged me a late fee of $35.00 this was put on my bill on the same date of 3-19-08, I called customer service and explained the problem, all I got was belittled and was told that I should of paid the bill a few day's earlier, what a crock. If that's the case then why don't they say on the bill, in BOLD print ''DO NOT PAY BY DUE DATE YOU WILL GET CHEATED OUT OF 35.00 DOLLAR'S, not only did that mess thing's up, but they raised my minimum payment, so now I have to pay more, in conclusion, I HATE SEAR'S and will never shop there again. Thank you.
Sears Delivery is Brutal!
I ordered a mattress from Sears that was supposed to be delivered on Saturday March 21st. I was moving into a new place and was told to be there between 7am and 5pm. I got a call at 11am to say that it would delayed. I waited until 8:30pm, spoke to 10 different useless customer service reps and found out only at 8:30 that it would not be coming! They lost the mattress, had to re-order one and now I've had to wait a week to get it (should come this Saturday....I will believe it when I see it). I have been sleeping on the floor for a week! How can you possibly run such an incompetent delivery service when you are such a huge company!?? I have now spoken to probably a total of 15 different people all with different answers but really never giving me an answer. My back is sore, I am cranky and completely fed up. I too will NEVER step foot in a Sears again and would recomment the same.

If you buy appliances from Sears, Beware!
We bought new refrigerator, then 3 weeks later a dishwasher from Sears (a week ago). We paid $120 for the installation for the dishwasher. The guy they sent was unbelievably rude, and damaged our brand new countertops and a cupboard while installing it. He didn't say anything about the damage til the brackets fell out as soon as we opened the door, and had to have him back out. He was even ruder the second time. Upon calling Sears, and being sent through dozens of people, retelling the situation, promises to return calls to us, and people hanging up on us, we've demanded a refund for the installation, and an apology, which they refuse. Good luck, if you think Sears is the way it used to be. It's not even close!!!!!! We will never purchase another item from Sears after this! (double good luck getting better treatment from the corporate office... they were even ruder!)
Sears, and their so called Service Department
Anyone else want to join in? Sears has a department called One Source Service. It is less than service. I have had now 4 service calls on a Samsung TV I purchased under service protection that comes with a new TV. About 4 months prior to it expiring, the TV took a puke. I have tried and tried to get them to replace the TV. The best so far was an offer to rent a TV until they fix mine. My cost upfront and then fax the bill in and they would repay me....Right! Sears could care less about customer service, or at least in my case. I guess we will see how far I have to go to get a resolution. 1800.00 I have dusted it more than enjoyed it. I hope Samsung reads this and sees first hand just how well their products are being treated!

Sears in Braintree, Massachusetts - Dryer was installed without proper ventilation
I will never purchase anything from sears again!!!!!!!!!!!! Washer/dryer purchased...dryer hooked up without being vented from factory and installed regardless of problem causing major overheating. 2 weeks later they sent out repair which attempted to fix problem. The dryer worked for a couple of weeks and then problem reoccured. After many heated conversations they agreed to replace damaged dryer and waited 3 weeks for delivery and the dryer was not properly vented on that attempt either!!!!! Lied to about new delivery date being a day out, took off yet another day of work and then told dryer would be delivered until Monday instead of saturday....Also tried to leave the same pedestals that would be ruined once machine was taken off. Luckily I had an honest delivery person who gave me some helpful info. I will never shop Sears again......they are the worst!!!!!!!
Sears in Willingboro, New Jersey - Don't buy a Sear's Warrenty!
They're absolutely horrible. Today I was scheduled to have repair service on my washer. Paid almost $200 for the warrenty on a Maytag. I was told the repair tech would be there between the hours of 8-5pm. My husband took the day off from work to be here. I had to wait 2 wks for the appt. We also were told we had to move the washer out of the laundry room closet in order for the repair tech. to work on the machine. So, now my washer is sitting in my kitchen. When I got home at 4pm. Still no tech! This is exactly what Sears had done the last time I had to have repairs made to my washer. I immediately contacted Sears Warrenty Dept. I was told the tech was running behind & had requested the appt to be rescheduled. Not even the courtesy of a phone call. We're sitting around all day waiting for them and they're a no show! I expressed my anger & was then passed from one customer service rep to another. Each claiming they couldn't help me. When I asked for a supervisor I was told it wouldn't make a difference and that they would just tell me the same thing. My only option was to reschedule for the following Thursday (1st available) and call back customer relations in the morning to file a complaint. I then demanded to speak to the routing dept. The ones who are responsible for dispatching a tech. I was told that was not possible. I rep. finally agreed to call & ask them again for an appt the following morning. He then got back on the phone with me & said that a representative named Katrina, in the routing dept, had hung up on him. I asked him to try again. This time the phone rang & a girl named Katrina answered the phone. When I repeated her name...she immediately hung up on me. Shocked by the mis-treatment. I called back & spoke to another cust. service rep. I asked to speak to a supervisor & was told that I would have to give him the info. I had to repeat the entire story again & was told that the reps in routing are not allowed to talk to reps. So, that makes it OK to just hang up on a customer! I was once again told that my only option was to reschedule. I hung up & contact the local Sears store where I had purchased my washer. I spoke to the store Mgr. who was wonderful. She immediately contacted the warrenty department & made a supervisor commit to dispatching a repair tech the next day. She did this in 10 minutes. She said that she will file a complaint with the district Mgr. because the treatment was unacceptable. Sear's is known for their horrible service & I swear I don't care if they're offering something for 80% off retail....I will never buy a product from that store again. If you have to buy from them...do yourself a favor & don't buy a warrenty from them. They will be all smiles when they take your money but then treat you like *** if you need to service!!!
