SEARS has issued refund (with receipt) to gift card instead of major CC
Refund for partial return with receipt (3 of 5 items) was issued to SEARS gift card instead of major credit card. Original Payment: $15.55 Master Card $18.40 Gift Card Refund: $18.40 Gift Card $2.57 Master Card Proper refund would be: $15.50 Master Card, rest (~$5.50 Gift card). Sales person gave no advance worning, computer problems cited as the reason, while agreeing with me that refund should be first issued to the major CC to the full extent of CC payment with only reminder on the gift card, which is the coomon practice in the retail industry. Lack of promissed follow up on two occasions.

My problems with Sears finally solved
I got tired of the promised service calls from Sears then no call and no show.I had several service contracts with Sears and now that they have ran out I now take all my appliance business to Home Depot or Lowe's Building Materials. They both offer service contracts and if the service technician can't make the appointment they have made alternate plans for another appointment within a reasonable time frame sometimes on the same day. So if I ever need to replace any appliance I go to Home Depot or Lowe's. Sears go jump in the lake! This is a classic example of a business taking my money and then when I need their help they hide.

Sears in Danbury, Connecticut - Stove blows up and no customer service
Do not go to Sears for appliances and especially customer service. Our stove that we bought less than three ago suddenly without warning starting buzzing, then a flash of fire came from the back of it. Of course all the electronics were destroyed. We originally bought the extended warranty for the stove but when we came home and read through it, it mentions that it doesn't cover any of the electronics. Well, we called the warranty service and inquired about this and they agreed. So we cancelled the warranty since we only bought it for the electronics. We took the money instead and installed a whole house surge protector. My husband who is handy found the part and ordered the one we needed. When we received the part, they had changed slightly the design of it along with other two parts that they sent along. MMMM!!! Maybe they found a problem with the original part but doesn't want to admit it. When he called technical service about this part, the woman says that they can't help with any technical questions! Then what is a technical service for! He installed the parts and half the stove works but not all. After much trouble, a technician offered him some advice on our problem. If that didn't work, then we would have to order another part. Of course, it didn't work so now we have to order another part. The cost of these parts are now going to be more than half the original price of the stove that is less than 3 years old. I will never shop there again for appliances and I'm warning anybody I can about Sears also.
SEARS withholding refund
Purchased microwave Jan 7 online for store pickup. Ad claimed item was in stock. Drove 100 miles roundtrip a week after order was placed. Ship/receive/pick up dept declared unavailable as it was not in stock. Told me that I should have been informed but no one called or emailed to state that the microwave was not in stock. This department could not accept cancellation; told me to cancel online. Did so Jan 13. Many phone calls and emails but no refund. Each department blames another but it is now almost one month (Feb 4 )since order was cancelled and no refund has been made.
Sears in Stockton, California - 12 months no interest... never again
Sear’s paid off my promotional, “12 month no interest”, account 6 months early because I had a credit balance on my Revolving account. Instead of fixing the problem, reinstate my 12 month no interest, and send me a check for the credit balance on the revolving account. They lied! I had a choice of 12 months no interest or 20% off the purchase price. I got 6 months no interest and 0% off. Good thing my revolving account didn’t a credit balance after 1 month! Their credit department, Chase Bank, I was told “Has nothing to do with Sear’s” and “Sear’s has nothing to do with Chase”. Now, I have nothing to do with either one of them! After I stood my ground for 2 hours and told them I had been a store manager for the several department stores for 15 years. And, demanded an adjustment, I got a 6 months credit adjustment off the purchase price of the promo item which was $59.00. Thanks Sear’s! Can’t wait to go spend that at Lowe’s!
Sears in Milwaukee, Wisconsin - How ignorant can a company be?
I wanted to buy some new parts for my air compressor, but they need the model number of the compressor. The part I needed was destroyed, but was where the model number was located. After being transfered 8 time in one hour, I was told that each individual air compressor has it's own model number. Not each type, but each individual one. Most products have individual serial numbers, but sears uses individual model numbers?? Have I gone ***?? They wanted me to call the store that I bought it from 11 years ago and ask them if they remember the model number of the compressor they sold me that day....WTF? I even got transfered to the craftsman club to see if they could help??? What a great company...Who runs it, chimpanzees??
