Sears Charged a 15% restocking fee and delivery charge

July, 2007, bought matching Whirlpool washer and dryer from Sears; Dec. 2007, washer stopped working. week later Sears picked up the washer . washer and dryer purchased as a matching set, Sears said I could a return dryer. received full refund for the washer, but Sears charged me a 15% restocking fee on the dryer also had to pay delivery charge of $85 plus tax. Sears kept from me $196.55. Since this was no fault of mine that the washer was defective, I should get back 100% of what I paid for washer and dryer and the delivery charge too.

Sears has Fraudulent Sales

On January, 23, 2008, I place an order through Sears.com for a laptop computer. It was listed as $499. I placed an order for 1 for me and 1 for my son to give him as a graduation present. I went back to the page the next day to see check on delivery. The computer was still listed as available and at the same $499. Two days later, I received an email from Sears saying my order was being canceled because it is out of stock. Four days later, they still charged my credit card account, after they had no intention of filling the order. I have written 13 emails to "Customer Service" telling them I will accept a substitute or that I wait on delivery until they restock. They have not accepted any of the compromises I have offered. They also have refunded the cost of only one computer and refuse to send the other one. I will be happy to accept one computer and give it to my son, he will need it in college. They will not send a computer or refund the money. Meanwhile, I am paying interest on the charge and it has tied up my credit limit so I can't use it to buy a computer from a honest company. Never Again.

Sears did it to me today over a Pop rivit gun, they wanted my drivers license number, I refused and they refused to honor the tool warranty! What do people do who don't have a drivers license.

Someone should file a class action suit. It worked for the voting rights act!

Wow Sears bought KMart and became worse for it. No wonder they are looking money and market shares....from this day forward I will only buy tools at Lowe's or snap on...

SEARS GIFT CARD RIP OFF

I have a sears gift card with a balance of less than two dollars and they will not give me change! I don't want to go out and spend extra money I don't have just to use them! How much extra money is sears making off of the thousands of people just like me! I just stood in line at sears and was completely stonewalled at the complaints department. they seemed to think that since the cards were a " a gift" I shouldn't have a problem with it!? I feel like we are being completely ripped off.

Except in california, where you are allowed by law to cash out gift card balances under $10, terms and conditions be damned.

In all gift cards including sears gift cards the terms and conditions say cannot redeem for cash. The reason for this is simple it is a violation of many federal laws to turn a gift card into money a gift card is not money

Sears delivery nightmare

We purchased a Sears Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator/freezer. We live in Pasadena, CA. and purchased it from their Arcadia store. They asked for the customary wide window of delivery time, and we were thoroughly accommodating to them. The delivery truck pulls up at 8PM!! The truck is a Penske truck, and the delivery man who rings our bell looks like a felon, downright frightening, and very surly. I say, "wow, you guys must be busy, renting trucks from Penske". He says, no, we work for Penske, they do all the deliveries for Sears. I follow him out to the truck, where I watch him and his associate frantically rip the shipping box and packing off the unit, and even though the truck has an hydraulic lift platform, he straps the refrigerator to a hand truck, angles it over the side, and about 3 feet off the ground, lets it fall!!!! I said you can't do that!...he says no, it's okay...then proceeds to roughly haul it up our front steps, with its compressor and innards clanging and clunking. When he sets it up, no surprise, the cabinet is misaligned, clearly from it being dropped, so the doors don't line up. I say that is unacceptable, he says too bad, and skidmarks out of there, leaving packing debris in the street. I went ballistic with the store, they offered to make things right, but I got my money back and went to a private appliance store, got a better price, better product, and excellent service. Sears is dead, long live Sears... :(

Don't even go near Sears!!

I've read some of the complaints posted here about Sears ... they read like novels because the ridiculously low quality of their products and their UNBELIEVABLY horrible customer service is endless. My experience with Sears was a nightmare. I won't recount my entire saga here, mainly because I'm too *** tired after spending hours on the phone with their inept "customer service," writing multiple letters to their National Customer Service Center (they didn't respond to any of my letters) and trying to reach them through Sears.com. All you need to know is that their products are junk, and if you try to get anything repaired or remedied through them -- be prepared to enter the Twilight Zone. You'll get bounced around from department-to-department, and whenever they give you a number for a department to call -- it won't be the department they told you it was. The Customer Service reps are beyond ***. I said to one woman, "Can you please try to put yourself in my shoes? How would you feel if you took your vacuum in for repair, came back a week later to pick it up because they told you it would be repaired in a week, when you got there they said unapologetically, 'It's not ready yet,' and no one bothered to contact you to tell you not to come in because it wasn't ready?" You know what the customer service rep said to me? She goes, "I cannot relate to your situation because I do not own a vacuum cleaner. I have hardwood floors." I. Kid. You. Not. I cannot make that *** up. My last ditch attempt at getting some type of resolution was sending a certified letter to the CEO. But I honestly don't expect to hear anything back, because it's clear from all the complaints posted online about Sears that they are renowned for poor customer service and clearly don't care. So save yourself the frustration that all the other posters here have had to endure. Don't buy anything from Sears. SHOP ELSEWHERE.

How about you put yourself in that womans shoes, or any other sears employee for that matter? Day in and day out they must deal with little whiners like yourself that give them a huge headache during the day.

How would you feel if you got paid minimum wage to do nothing but deal with mostly ignorant people all day? You wouldn't like that now would you?

With that said... shut up!

Sears in Sugar Land, Texas - Kenmore washer

I have been without my washer for 6 weeks now. I bought the extened warranty for the washer. Good until 2009. Between the repair man breaking my washer and parts showing up broken. I have complained to their customer care service and there is no customer service. We run our own construction company use to refer our customers to Sears all the time and now they will not even get my customers business. I am very dissapointed with their way of run a business and you know what, they don't care how you feel. As long as they still making money off of others why should they care about the ones they took advantage of. I have a family of 5 and we finally said forget about waiting on Sears to fix our washer. We had to go out and buy a new one. We didn't go to Sears!!!! Still waiting on Sears to fix our old washer. Came out on Dec 16th to look at the washer and will be here Jan 22nd to fix it. How is that for customer service. If I ran my business that way I would be Bankrupt.

Sears in Roswell, Georgia - Why I Quit

I grew up in Sears. I loved Sears. But since a hedge fund manager has taken control of Sears and merged it with K-Mart, the old Sears is long gone, never to return. The current management of Sears cares only about profitability, even at the expense of losing sales revenue (which is what kept Sears so strong for so many years), and at the expense of the customer. Gone forever are the days of "Satisfaction Guaranteed or Your Money Back." Sears used to be unique in that it was the customer that determined when they were satisfied. Now Sears has some increasingly rigid guidelines and has decided that they're the ones that determine when the customer is satisfied. Sears' leadership is taking much the same approach with their employees, choosing to manage them like they do any other asset. Long service doesn't mean anything; loyalty doesn't mean anything; experience is worthless. The less you earn, the more valuable you are, at Sears. Pension plans and 401K contributions are down (if not eliminated altogether), and the cost of insurance and other benefits are up as more and more financial burden is taken off of the company and placed on the employees. I left the company of my own will after over 15 years of service from sales to sales management to corporate management. I left because the company doesn't care about the customer, it doesn't care about the employees, and it doesn't even care about retailing. The leader of the company cares only about comparing himself to famed hedge fund manager Warren Buffett. Congratulations to him! He's been wildly successful -- successful enough to loot and destroy one of America's great institutions -- but he'll never be a Warren Buffet. He'll never even be a good retailer. That's too bad. Sears was worth saving. Now, the latest moves to split the company into separate business units only give the hedge fund manager more power to liquidate (or, in hedge fund manager speak, "unlock the value of") real estate as locations, brands, and other assets are slowly sold off. Goodbye Sears. We hardly knew ye.

SEARS Service is pathetic

after purchasing a Kenmore HE2 washer and dryer, the washing machine stoped working. All efforts by the customer relations dept failed to work. Finally they said they would issue a work order for a repairman to come to the house. How soon can they be here I asked? "2 weeks" was the response. I said "That is just unnaceptable, I can have any repairman out within 2-3 days." And she Replies " "Go ahead and it will void your warranty." SERVICE? WHAT SERVICE. 2 weeks without a washer and a large family...Sears just lost my business for Life..Im still waiting on the repairman and taking my laundry to the local facility...I should leave this washer sitting on the doorstep at the local sears where I bought it....

Dear Cobblestonebuilder,

We are sorry to hear about the problems that you are experiencing with your Kenmore washer. When calling for service we attempt to schedule service for our cutomers in a timely manner. There are some occasions when we are booked up and service may be delayed further than expected. This is not saying that it is okay to have our customers wait two weeks and we would appreciate the opportunity to assist you if still needed. My name is David and I work for the Sears Cares Escalations Team and we are here for assistance. At your convenience please contact my office via email at searscares@searshc.com with any questions or concerns you may have. Please provide us a contact number and the phone number the washer was purchased under and we will call you at your convenience. In addition, include your screen name (Cobblestonebuilder) in the email so we can reference to your case.

Thank you,

David V.

Same here with my mothers situation in Ohio. Just bought a new hot water heater from Sears and now has too much water pressure and not getting any hot water.

And some repairmen that Sears hired is suppose to come out and put a pressure regularlator on the water heater and that is definitely not the problem but they don't mind socking it to her for a couple of hundred bucks!! I may be here in Alabama but I will definitely be heard by phone and internet!
