Sears Service and Agreements

While scheduling a repair I was offered an agreement that would fix the current problem and give a year warranty plus $500.00 towards a new if they could not fix plus $250.00 food loss. Which I paid for with my card over the phone. The girl told me I would receive papers in the mail in week or so. When the repair man came there was no record of the purchase. He offered me a year warranty for $100.00 more than the repair charge. Which was about $60.00 more than the cost. I will never buy from Sears again. I already cut my card up. I have 7 Sears appliances, plus tools and compressors and it will be time for news things soon. I will go somewhere else. I was on the phone for days being transfered from one department to another with no results. I was put through the computer everytime. The tech was nice he was here for an hour when I was on the phone, he was shocked. It's the worst customer service ever. Something needs to be done about these companies who sell high dollar items that don't last. The tech told me the service dept was doing real good. Which means they are fixing alot of products that aren't good. Shame on you Sears.

Ralphie, try and collect on your warranty when something goes wrong. Try getting through on the phone to warranty dept.

and getting service and/or parts. Sears is a nice place to shop until something goes wrong on an item you spent x number of dollars on an extended warranty for...then you get a bunch of children who have the mental equivalency of a 2nd grader off his meds answering the phones and not helping you. Yeah Ralphie boy, you sho done good gittin' yerself that extennid warranty. Wow that makes you just so much smarter.

You're so smart you even read things that weren't in this OP's report. She never mentioned she did not buy the extension for her warranty. She said she's called EIGHT times only to get no help and I know exactly what she is talking about. And then there's that sheep named Curt....All I can say to you is "Uh duh!".

:upset You 2 must be cheerleaders for Sears. Cute you could come together to get some male bonding this way.

Why didn't you just send it back and get your money back if you are so dissatisfied?

We purchased all our appliances from Sears. It seems the customer service these days is terrible. The service technicians just don't show up for appointments. You spend all day waiting at home for a no show. When we called to complain, nothing gets done. We waited...

FYI, the repair required was to replace a wiring harness and the main motor. It was similar to and much simpler than replacing a basic automotive alternator.

It took me and the wife two hours. It would have taken several no work (no pay) days and endless tears to get "sears" to fix this thing.

If you have the warranty, keep it for parts only. The parts on this one would have been more than the unit was worth if I had to pay for them.

I went to buy an edger at Sears and it was used. I ordered it online and they refuse to come and pick it up. I have spoken to their customer service but they only try to delay things. When I spoke to customer service they told me it was not illegal to sell something...

You should have returned it within the return period, citing that it was used. Why would you want them to come out and pick it up.

Online orders come with the inherent risk that any problems cost you shipping.

However, with Sears, you can return it to the store. I've ordered online, and I've never had an item that couldn't be returned in-store.

Sears review in Reston, Virginia: Did not honor their choice rewards program

I had 24,500 bonus points which I redeemed from Sears for $270 in-store cash to use as a down payment on a refrigerator. For every dollar you spend, you get one point. I received only $70 and was told, after calling at least ten times, too bad, it can't be tracked, it is my fault for not having it sent in the proper manner, notwithstanding I wasn't told of any mailing options. The Sears rewards program is totally bogus and I have closed my account after being a customer for over twenty years and will never purchase anything from them again.

Sears review in Galeton, Pennsylvania: Still waiting on warranty work

So, You buy a riding lawnmower with a good review form customers who have purchased before. The thing runs like a champ for one year of near daily use then the engine goes out. No big deal, it is under warranty and you have done the maintenance as the handbook outlines. Then the fun begins. You call and play the game as they ask, going through the voice prompts for 2.5 minutes each time. Sometimes you get to a person, sometimes you get put on hold and sometimes you are dropped. O yeah you have a person, but they do not have a brain, they cannot answer the simplest questions without an extended hold time. Then the return and still cannot answer the questions. You assume may be you are asking the questions in a complicated manner so you re-word you question so it could be understood by a 9 year old. They still do not get it, you hold some more. That is life while trying to get your warranty work done with Sears. The product I bought was good, and the technician who came out and will ultimately do the work is great. The customer service to try and get it all worked out is run by drunk monkeys. If you are thinking about talking to customer service at Sears, do your homework. Run you request by your toddler and see if they understand, and then maybe, just maybe you have a chance of having the drunk monkey on the phone with you understand what you are saying. Still waiting on the service work and hoping it happens pretty soon . 04/08 10:28 AM 8Min 04/16 08:07 PM 3Min 04/17 12:52 PM 5Min 04/24 10:14 AM 4Min 04/26 02:21 PM 8Min 04/26 02:29 PM 7Min 04/28 03:31 PM 19Min 04/29 09:41 AM 27Min

Sears failed delivery, nobody notified

I was scheduled to have the lawn tracker delivered on 4/27/08 between 2:15 - 4:15. The automated system confirmed the time and the date twice before the date. Nobody showed up on the day until 4:30PM and then I called 800-732-7747 to find out the status and the rep told me that it's been delayed because of some manufacturing delay. What the ***? So, if I've not called, I'd be still waiting. I'm a very busy professional and I canceled all my appointments between 1-5PM for the delivery. Who is going to pay for my loss? I feel like just canceling the order and go somewhere else. I'll recommend all my friends NOT to go for Sears in the lifetime. As you can tell, I'm NOT happy with Sears at all.

So, Sears is working to help correct the issues, but you're holding them responsible for your frustration. That's reprehensible.

Eight moths ago I bought a 65" HDTV from Sears. In eight months I have had 4 service call made to Sears because the TV is a lemon.

After the 4th service call I asked for a replacement TV. I was told I'd have to wait for a 5th service call and the associated repairs before they would consider replacing this obviously defective television.

I now plan to picket in front of there store until I get a replacement.
