Don't even go near Sears!!

I've read some of the complaints posted here about Sears ... they read like novels because the ridiculously low quality of their products and their UNBELIEVABLY horrible customer service is endless. My experience with Sears was a nightmare. I won't recount my entire saga here, mainly because I'm too *** tired after spending hours on the phone with their inept "customer service," writing multiple letters to their National Customer Service Center (they didn't respond to any of my letters) and trying to reach them through Sears.com. All you need to know is that their products are junk, and if you try to get anything repaired or remedied through them -- be prepared to enter the Twilight Zone. You'll get bounced around from department-to-department, and whenever they give you a number for a department to call -- it won't be the department they told you it was. The Customer Service reps are beyond ***. I said to one woman, "Can you please try to put yourself in my shoes? How would you feel if you took your vacuum in for repair, came back a week later to pick it up because they told you it would be repaired in a week, when you got there they said unapologetically, 'It's not ready yet,' and no one bothered to contact you to tell you not to come in because it wasn't ready?" You know what the customer service rep said to me? She goes, "I cannot relate to your situation because I do not own a vacuum cleaner. I have hardwood floors." I. Kid. You. Not. I cannot make that *** up. My last ditch attempt at getting some type of resolution was sending a certified letter to the CEO. But I honestly don't expect to hear anything back, because it's clear from all the complaints posted online about Sears that they are renowned for poor customer service and clearly don't care. So save yourself the frustration that all the other posters here have had to endure. Don't buy anything from Sears. SHOP ELSEWHERE.

How about you put yourself in that womans shoes, or any other sears employee for that matter? Day in and day out they must deal with little whiners like yourself that give them a huge headache during the day.

How would you feel if you got paid minimum wage to do nothing but deal with mostly ignorant people all day? You wouldn't like that now would you?

With that said... shut up!

Sears review in Sugar Land, Texas: Kenmore washer

I have been without my washer for 6 weeks now. I bought the extened warranty for the washer. Good until 2009. Between the repair man breaking my washer and parts showing up broken. I have complained to their customer care service and there is no customer service. We run our own construction company use to refer our customers to Sears all the time and now they will not even get my customers business. I am very dissapointed with their way of run a business and you know what, they don't care how you feel. As long as they still making money off of others why should they care about the ones they took advantage of. I have a family of 5 and we finally said forget about waiting on Sears to fix our washer. We had to go out and buy a new one. We didn't go to Sears!!!! Still waiting on Sears to fix our old washer. Came out on Dec 16th to look at the washer and will be here Jan 22nd to fix it. How is that for customer service. If I ran my business that way I would be Bankrupt.

Sears review in Roswell, Georgia: Why I Quit

I grew up in Sears. I loved Sears. But since a hedge fund manager has taken control of Sears and merged it with K-Mart, the old Sears is long gone, never to return. The current management of Sears cares only about profitability, even at the expense of losing sales revenue (which is what kept Sears so strong for so many years), and at the expense of the customer. Gone forever are the days of "Satisfaction Guaranteed or Your Money Back." Sears used to be unique in that it was the customer that determined when they were satisfied. Now Sears has some increasingly rigid guidelines and has decided that they're the ones that determine when the customer is satisfied. Sears' leadership is taking much the same approach with their employees, choosing to manage them like they do any other asset. Long service doesn't mean anything; loyalty doesn't mean anything; experience is worthless. The less you earn, the more valuable you are, at Sears. Pension plans and 401K contributions are down (if not eliminated altogether), and the cost of insurance and other benefits are up as more and more financial burden is taken off of the company and placed on the employees. I left the company of my own will after over 15 years of service from sales to sales management to corporate management. I left because the company doesn't care about the customer, it doesn't care about the employees, and it doesn't even care about retailing. The leader of the company cares only about comparing himself to famed hedge fund manager Warren Buffett. Congratulations to him! He's been wildly successful -- successful enough to loot and destroy one of America's great institutions -- but he'll never be a Warren Buffet. He'll never even be a good retailer. That's too bad. Sears was worth saving. Now, the latest moves to split the company into separate business units only give the hedge fund manager more power to liquidate (or, in hedge fund manager speak, "unlock the value of") real estate as locations, brands, and other assets are slowly sold off. Goodbye Sears. We hardly knew ye.

SEARS Service is pathetic

after purchasing a Kenmore HE2 washer and dryer, the washing machine stoped working. All efforts by the customer relations dept failed to work. Finally they said they would issue a work order for a repairman to come to the house. How soon can they be here I asked? "2 weeks" was the response. I said "That is just unnaceptable, I can have any repairman out within 2-3 days." And she Replies " "Go ahead and it will void your warranty." SERVICE? WHAT SERVICE. 2 weeks without a washer and a large family...Sears just lost my business for Life..Im still waiting on the repairman and taking my laundry to the local facility...I should leave this washer sitting on the doorstep at the local sears where I bought it....

Dear Cobblestonebuilder,

We are sorry to hear about the problems that you are experiencing with your Kenmore washer. When calling for service we attempt to schedule service for our cutomers in a timely manner. There are some occasions when we are booked up and service may be delayed further than expected. This is not saying that it is okay to have our customers wait two weeks and we would appreciate the opportunity to assist you if still needed. My name is David and I work for the Sears Cares Escalations Team and we are here for assistance. At your convenience please contact my office via email at searscares@searshc.com with any questions or concerns you may have. Please provide us a contact number and the phone number the washer was purchased under and we will call you at your convenience. In addition, include your screen name (Cobblestonebuilder) in the email so we can reference to your case.

Thank you,

David V.

Same here with my mothers situation in Ohio. Just bought a new hot water heater from Sears and now has too much water pressure and not getting any hot water.

And some repairmen that Sears hired is suppose to come out and put a pressure regularlator on the water heater and that is definitely not the problem but they don't mind socking it to her for a couple of hundred bucks!! I may be here in Alabama but I will definitely be heard by phone and internet!

SEARS - NO CUSTOMER SERVICE and READ THE DISCLAIMER

On 12/29/07 – my husband and I were in Sears in Boise, Idaho. A nice sales associate named Seth helped us out. Seth mentioned to my husband that there was this great tool combo on sale that weekend only. I gave Seth gift cards to purchase this Craftsman 673 pc tool set and tool storage combo bundle. We took the receipt from the store and called questioning the status of this order a few days later. First I was told due to the holiday rush – it would take a couple of extra days. Then I was told that everything was fine – the entire bundle would be shipped. Next I was told that Seth must have pushed a wrong button because the tools were not on the order – this was offensive because there was 1 Add To Cart button. The next phone call I was told my order was hung up in the credit department, then I finally received my order confirmation. I called the store’s General Manager who assured me he would look into it. Two days later I get a call from Ricky – a manager at Sears stating that he had spoke with his buyer and tools were no longer available and I should call Sears Consumer relations. I called the GM at the store who told me I should review the TERMS OF USE link on the website which was interesting because his associate sold us the merchandise and call Consumer relations. I called consumer relations and spoke with a VERY RUDE supervisor named Gail – who offered to sell me one of the tool sets for $699.00 (apparently they were in stock). This lady actually said to me “you don’t expect us to honor this bundle price – do you?” My answer was yes because it was advertised that way. The associate at the store told us about it. She said that it was an error and “What part of what she said did I not understand”. I asked for a substitute product – and was told no. I do have a documentation of this ad if needed, I can fax it. I have never seen quite a scam like this or have I been spoke to in the manner Gail spoke to me . From the store, to the website, then to consumer relations – I was sold a product, given every answer in the book as to why I didn’t receive the product and spoke to COMPLETELY unacceptable manner…. Oh yes and told to read the fine print. No email of error in advertising – just basically too bad.

NEVER BUY APPLIANCES FROM SEARS!

Less than 2 years after purchasing my Kenmore Elite dishwasher it just stopped working one day - no power, standing water in the bottom, etc. Called to have it serviced. I'm told it's not under warrantee and, anyway, Sears is not servicing your area for the foreseeable future! But I have my paperwork for a 2 year FULL warrantee I say. Not according to Sears! She suggested I get out the yellow pages and find a repair center. I spent over an hour speaking to at least 6 different people and I got the same rude responses. Bottom line - they were not going to schedule service! Have you ever heard of anything so ridiculous? Never buy from Sears!

Sears review in Bloomington, Illinois: Store and Warranty Repair Service

I dont like to talk as much as most people bit I to am tired of Sears cutomer service. The front loader energy saving washer has been a nightmare since we got it. The service people have been nice with an arrogant tone. They only fix things half right and getting to talk to someone in charge at Sears is impossible. I will no longer shop Sears and I have been a good cutomer of theirs for over 32 years. I give up on Sears and no longer trust them. Let others be warned. I am also adding six words to this because this sight required, it aint that sweet

Sounds like Sears to me. They burned me around 15 months ago on a pair of Craftsman pants that had a 2 year warranty on it.

The pants fell apart in less than 4 months (16 times wearing them). The manager and casier refused to do anything about it. I even had the receipt in hand. They claimed that I returned the pants already.

Not true. So, I don't have anything to do with SEARS at all. The stores slogan should be changed to "there is less to your life at sears. At SEARS, we don't care about customer service.

Worse service, being left out of the cold is your way of life, then shop your local SEARS".

:? For better service, visit you local JCPenney.

Sears kenmore washers & dryers

For the second time within a year I have had to replace the handle on my Kenmore(elite model #110.95089400) dryer at a cost of over eighty three dollars each, not including installation fees. The handle is plastic and cannot be replaced with a metal cabinet handle because Sears chose not to use cabinet maker standards for this product. A serviceman has to replace the handle because the screws are not exposed to do it yourself. However, the screws are exposed on the front load washer - go figure. Sears is certainly putting the screws to anyone who buys this product.

this service is a rip off.. it adverises $24 a month but i ended up paying $160 for each month for 3 months.. there was no indicaion that the charges a different for a mobile phone and we only found out after 2 1/2 monhs when we saw he 1st month statement. In addition, the land lines do not oconnect after hooking up wih sears so we had no choice but to call on mobile phones to india! I disconnected from this service right away. Customer service is rude and ruthless! I would advice you all to stay away from this.

Sears review in Houston, Texas: Here's 1 reason for it all......

I worked for Sears as a service tech for over the past 25 years. I have seen all the changes, and yes most of them were all about money, less benefits for the employees, more money to line the executives pockets. On top of that I was injured on the job and have since been terminated. The techs have the ability, (there are still many 25 to 30 year techs working) but Sears does not give them time to do the job correctly every time. If we did not work fast we would lose our job due to low productivity. I too have stared purchasing items from other stores and ordering parts online cheaper through other companies.
