I purchased a Christmas tree (color switch plus) from Sears by Kmart online last Christmas. It says it has a 3 year warranty. I put the bottom piece on the stand it lit up, then the 2nd piece. It lit up. Then the last piece and it lit up. Perfect. I put it away and it is now November. Time to put up the tree again. So I put the bottom in. Nothing lights up. The rotating stand it attaches to that came with it works fine. The power goes through it so I know it's not a power issue. I've tried 3 different working outlets. No lights. No burnt, missing or loose bulbs. I only used it for 2 weeks last year. So I call Sears warranty center. After giving them all the info and a 30 min phone conversation. She tells me I didn't purchase an extra warranty so I would have to go through the manufacturer. Ok no problem. I find out the manufacturer is Kmart which is one in the same with Sears. On the box and the stand it says made in China for Kmart. So I call Kmart warranty which happens to have the same phone number. I explained that they are the manufacturer and I need a replacement. Another 30 minutes and the representative tells me she will mail me my original receipt and I can take it to a Sears repair center since that's the warranty I have. I asked if she could email it since its 2015 she said no it has to go to the billing address. I ordered it online so they also have my email. She told me once it gets there it would take 3-6 weeks to repair. Christmas will be over. I wasted $300 on a product that lasted 2 weeks and they won't fix it until after I don't need it anymore. I have to purchase a new tree. I purchased a lot from Sears for many years. From clothes to appliances but I will never shop with Sears or Kmart again due to this issue.

Sears in Los Angeles, California - Kenmore gas water heater.... Junk!

Kenmore 50gal gas water heater made 'loud' humming noises a month after installation. After spending hours researching it (not a warranty issue according to Sears) turns out it is caused by vibration on an internal shield. Sears is aware of the issue because I stumbled across a service bulletin that describes the repair for it. Then 1 1/2 years later the t/p valve fails... Sears wants to charge a service call to determine if its a warranty issue. I bought it because it claimed to have a 12 year warranty! Pressure valve shouldn't fail after 1 1/2 years! Spent 45 minutes on the phone with three totally rude Sears representatives. I will never buy another thing from Sears!

I am very disappointed about both of my purchases from Sears. My refrigerator has stopped working completely, and all of my food and milk is completely ruined. Not counting the time that the refrigerator was going out, once I requested a service call, they could not repair my refrigerator for 10 more days, once I called. A customer who has just paid all of this money for a new refrigerator, including paying for an extended warranty, should not have to wait 10 days for a refrigerator repair. I have four kids in my house, and this issue has created disaster in my hose. The freezer is not working properly, and all of my ice cream has melted, several container of it, and things just are not freezing properly. To say that I am upset, is an understatement. With the economy being the way that it is, When I make a major purchases like this, I need something that will last awhile. I am not comfortable with having anyone coming out to fix major appliances, that are supposed to be new, less than three months later. Obviously these appliances are lemons. Upon discovering that my items had not lasted at all. I decided o go online, just to see if others have experienced the same issues with Sears products. I was shocked by all of the bad reviews that I read about Sears products. I feel totally ripped off, and I believe that Sears is knowingly selling defective products. If that is the case, I am not only disappointed, but totally appalled by that possibility. Years ago, my mom shopped frequently with Sears and Kmart, when they sold quality products. I can go anywhere and get this type of substandard service. Rent to own would have been better than trusting Sears. And to boot, I have been made to wait several days for a repair. Sears obviously, does not care about their customers anymore. I will never trust Sears again with a major purchase, and I would not recommend that anyone else to do so either.. If I had seen the reviews about them prior to buying, I would never have made these major purchases with them. Normally I read reviews before I buy things, especially expensive items. This time I did not, decided to trust Sears, and it has cost me tremendously. I am very disappointed with Sears, and they have lost my business. the most that I will buy, is a towel or maybe a T-shirt from them. Customer service is at an all time low, and when that happens, businesses usually shut down eventually. Which I am hearing is the case. Buy from Sears, with caution consumers. Thank you, C.W.

Sears in Los Angeles, California - Mini tiller needs repair after less than 2 hr of total use

I'm a landscaper on weekends. bought a craftsman tiller. Used once for about an hour. Ran well. 2 weeks later, it wouldn't start. Used Fresh gas. Followed starting instructions. Must have pulled 50-60 times. Starter rope broke. I was pissed and wanted a refund,unfortunately, it was 40 days since the purchase. Sears rep had me take it to their repair shop who shared that they need to replace the transmission along with the starter rope. This is not what I expect of a new machine, especially a craftsman. Wasted weekend, and it looks like another weekend will past as they have not repaired the tiller yet. 2 weeks and counting. Disappointed with this lemon of a tiller. How does a transmission go bad on a new tiller, especially when the soil I was working with was rock free?

I made appt for my diswasher repair with Sears recently, originally my appt was scheduled for March 19,2013 between 8am to 12 pm and I have my confirmation number and everything ( this repair is under extended warranty I bought at the time I purchase my diswasher) at 11:30 am I called Sear to find out if their Tech coming with the parts, they told me Tech will be there at 2 pm and they insisted my appt was between 8 am to 2 pm and at 2pm nobody showed up,I called again this time they told me my appt was 8am to 5 pm, finally at 5 pm Tech showed up and repaired my diswasher, the Tech replaced my broken diswasher with cheap part hardly fit and look ugly but it work for now, the part is not original part I hope it will last for at least year or two, Tech left me receipt it said total service Value $178.20 but since this service under warranty so no charged,this problem was originated since Feb 28 2013 it took almost a month before they come to do it, can you imagine and since the beginning I have made at 30 phone called to Sear before they took care of the problems, Sears horrible and Im done with them never again shop Sears never, I would like to warn all shoppers out there, make sure you read reviews of stores you want to shop, dont just take my words for it try it yourself and you will understand what Im talking about, dont be next victims of Sear Don't go there at all.

Sears in Los Angeles, California - Bad product-worse service

Bought a freezer at Sears just over a year ago. Stocked it with meat and it stopped working without kicking a breaker and it badly overheated and spoiled all the meat inside which was more valuable than the freezer. Sears will not allow me to drop it off for repair, rather insist I wait home for some one to charge me $75.00 to look at it. On top of that I would have to pay for repair. In summary: $400.00 to buy freezer-$500 to $600 worth of spoiled meat- $75.00 to look at it then $? to repair. Do not under any circumstances pay a premium to buy Kenmore. It is of poor quality and they offer no drop off to repair. Instead they offer 3rd party people to charge unfairly without any recourse.

I just replaced my nightmare Kenmore frig with a new one 10 months ago. It is already broken and they can not someone out for a month. SEARS has the worst customer service ever and even worst products!!!!!!

When we remodeled our kitchen, we purchased all Sears appliances. My garage is well stocked with Craftsman products. Too bad. Any request for assistance from them when things go awry is met with rudeness and snippiness, from low level telephone clerks. Seeking assistance from supervisory management has only resulted in the cancellation of service calls. What was once a fine American success story, has diminished into a dismal consumer *** hole. With so many retail choices, why would I ever choose to darken their outlets again? On line sources are rife with similar customer complaints against them, and mine it seems, is nothing unusual. That's just the way that it is with them. Even in this economy, I have money to spend, and a large circle of friends, (a number of them contractors), and I shall endeavor to steer them clear of this retailer. Now if you'll excuse me, I am off to purchase some Snap On Tools, and a working LG refrigerator.

Sears sold me a lemon

I purschased a fridge from sears. A 1700 hundred kenmore elite, I also purchased the warranty. I have nothing but problems with the Ice makers. Sears has a lemon policy, if you they come out four times in one year and replace parts, they say they will replace it. Well they lie, The repair people have been out around six or seven times. When ever I call they give me a excuse why they cant. When I asked to speak to a supervisor they say they dont have any. So here I am calling them out one a month for repairs. I will never shop @ Sears again. If they go out of buisness, they have it coming.

Sears in Los Angeles, California - Lied, no repair done after 3 months

Took My Vaccume in for service to Sears and was only 6 months old if that. I had the purchase copy and they took it and gave us a loaner. I was dealig with a gal named Amanda she was always less then pleasant with each call as weeks went by. I was leaving out of state in Aug 2011 and returned the loaner and asked my daughter too pickup ours when it is done. The call came 7-10 weeks after sent to service that mine was completed. When I went to pick it up I was told they never got the loaner which they did. The storee mgr Rich Lopez went into the back and got mine came out and chucked it at me and proceeded to tell me that they no longer sell my product so that service never fixed it I was like REALLY you have had this almost 3 months and you told me it was fixed and now it isnt?? He was less then polite about it annd I left the store after Amanda lied about the loaner anbd he was not kind at all I will never shop in Elko Nevada Kmart nor Sears AGAIN and because they dont stand behind their products anylonger is ***.

I put a maintenance agreement on my credit card. The technician was supposed to show next day. Received call 30 min before end time saying he would be out next day. Next day, no call no show. I called Sears direct. They want to reschedule my fridge repair till the 14th. I had to throw out a lot of food go rent a fridge, and wasted two days waiting for a technician that never showed. Were you been man, sears/kmart stopped being great in 2005. There is a whole segment of customers out there that will tell you that.Also you have up tp 90 days to cancel that *** they sold you.
