Technician checked my oven and said I needed a new ignitor.

cost to me was $324.00. The replaced part only costs between $29.00 and $40.00.

His service fee was $99.00.

Why such an inflated price for ignitor. #5303935066?

I feel that Sears ripped me off.

I won't recommend them to anyone, unless you give me a good honest explanation of this charge.

Service fee is for them to come out, labor would be on top of the service fee. Some places just fold the service fee into the labor costs, saving you some money.

The. There are places that literally charge for everything. There is also this thing called capitalism, which means you had a choice. You chose to go with that company.

You say you FEEL ripped off but you do not itemize your receipt so how is anyone to really know if you were indeed ripped off? Communication goes a long way.

The serviceman must have given you an invoice or statement outlining the charges. That was your opportunity to verify the charges and question any suspicious ones. You might wish to look at it and see how the separate charges add up.
