Purchase two Kenmore 'Power Miser 6' 50 gal electric hot water heaters (2 heaters, 1 yr. apart) and installed them properly.

One failed in 4 yrs. After an $89.00 service charge to confirm tank failure and leakage they did ship a replacement to the home. The second one failed, again after 4 yr. period.

Another $89.00 service charge, but this time----got an "on back order" excuse, but would be available in MORE than a month. Plus they refuse to deliver it this time, requiring a 40 mile round trip to pick it up myself AND they require the old defective heater be returned on pickup of the new one. They don't offer the Power Miser 6 heaters any longer, and I can certainly see why at the rate of failure on them.

Warranty requirements and required service charges are just an added income for them. My VERY LAST appliance with any connection to Sears for sure!
