We purchased a Kenmore Elite top-loading high efficiency low-water washer (Series 700S). In six months, the transmission, motor and control circuit panel went bad.

The service tech has ordered the Whirlpool parts which total $853.86 including $139 labor. While this unit is still under warranty, in my opinion it is a piece of junk. We have been without a washer for three weeks. The Sears store refused to exchange the unit stating it was under warranty and eagerly referred us to appliance repair.

Purchase price on this unit including matching dryer was $2,316 including tax.

Did we make a mistake.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Monetary Loss: $550.

I'm with you! Our Kenmore washer of 18 months old is now spitting oil everywhere and the $99 home review resulted in nothing we can do about it.

Kenmore sucks, Sears sucks!

We are moving out of state soon and the washer will end up being left behind as a boat anchor. Just another reason Sears is going under.

Kenmore washing machine is definitely junk. 3 in 6 months all junk.
