We purchased a home on July 31st 2017 and shortly after in the month of August, we purchased a brand new Kenmore refrigerator, model#795.72493.611 &;; serial number 706trkhoc349 from Sears in Arbor Place Mall in Douglasville, GA. We purchased this refrigerator for almost $2000.00 and now three years later, the entire cooling system of the refrigerator and freezer has stopped working completely.
After looking up information and calling several appliance repair shops, we were informed that LG makes the compressor part which is known to have issues and causes the refrigerator to stop working within 2 to 4 years. When we purchased this refrigerator, we were not informed of its possible issues nor informed that we would be spending and losing so much money regarding this huge purchase. We have been without a refrigerator for almost a month. We contacted Sears home repair, and they weren't able to come until today, August 26th.
We have purchased a mini refrigerator and deep freezer after having to throw away all of our food in both compartments as well. We have a toddler and kids at home which is imperative that we have a working refrigerator. The tech quoted us $1100 to fix and that the refrigerator will stop working again in another 3 to 4 years. So we have to spend a total of $3100 plus other charges that may occur after the appliance breaks downs again.
THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. We spoke with someone from Sears Executive Office who stated that there is nothing for them to do.
User's recommendation: Don't buy any appliances from Sears.
Monetary Loss: $1900.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
Sears Cons: Sears parts direct, Bad customer serivce, Sell products that they are aware are bad.
