Sears review in Boston, Massachusetts: The most disorganized and dysfunctional company ever!

1.0
Details
I purchased a box spring and mattress that was unbearably comfortable - despite a substantial price point. At time of purchase I asked about return policy was told 30 days. Absolutely no mention of restocking and pick up fee. Went to the store and asked them about how to return. Again no mention of restocking and pick up fee. Called the toll free number to schedule return and was told about the fees for the first time. Hands were tied. Had to pay the fees. Now I’m trying to find out where the heck my refunded money is!!! I’m on the phone with the mattress team and all they can tell me is the date the return was processed at warehouse. Seriously! No more information than that.

Had the same part replaced on dishwasher multiple times this year. Called to get dishwasher replaced under protection plan. Says it doesn’t qualify because they leave the work order open to make it look like one repair. Sears won’t be in business much longer.

Sears - Shirt And Pants Review from Boston, Massachusetts

Details
My husband purchased a shirt and pants in august. He never wore them so i found the receipt and tried to bring them back. I was shocked to find that after 30 days there are no exchanges. Not even store credit. The clothes were never worn and had the tags still on. Thats a shame. I dont think I will be going back to Sears. Mrs. Rosemarie Young Lapebera@gmail.com

You were shocked that clothes bought more than two months ago couldn't be taken back? What else are you shocked by?

That summer is hot?

Money is green? Since this has to be 50 words, I will go on to say that people like you are what make shopping so difficult.

Sears review in Boston, Massachusetts: NEVER AGAIN

1.0

On February 10th of this year i purchased an elliptical bike from Sears, manufactured by Best Choice Products. When the bike was delivered four days later I was extremely excited. I called my neighbor right away to see if he could assemble it for me. (I also paid him 40 dollars for his time) Well, three hours later he was still trying to assemble the bike with poor directions and several missing parts. I called Best Choice that day and requested that they send the parts that were missing. They agreed and about a week and half later I received them. After taking them out of the box I discovered there was still one piece missing. I promptly called Best Choice and they said the would send the missing part. About a week and half later I got the part and it was the wrong part.I called Best Choice again, sent them a picture of the part from their manual along with the part number. A week later I called Best Choice again since I still hadn't received the part. They offered me a 30 dollar refund for the aggravation and asked me to call them once i received the part. Ten minutes later my door bell rang and it was Fed Ex with part and to my dismay when I opened the box I found the same exact part I received on my second request for parts. (The wrond part) I then called Best Choice again and asked for a full refund which they agreed to. I told them they could come and get their partially assembled bike since I had no use for it and they told me to donate it. I received the 30 dollars about two days later credited to my account, but almost two months later I am still waitinf for a full refund. i have spoken to best Choice and Sears on more occassions than I can count to no avail. Friday April 1st i was told by a suoervisor at BEst Choice that they had neglected to send whatever info Sears needed to process my refund (I had been tod on at least four different occassions that info had been sent) and would be sent to Sears immediately. Yesterday I got an email from Sears stating they were doing an investigation into my refund and it would take 5-7 business day for this issue to be resolved. I promptly called Sears where I was told they were investigating but until I returned the bike I would not be refunded. I told them they Best Choice said to donate but I have it, if they want to pick uo the partually put together bike that I would not try to disasswmble

Sears review in Boston, Massachusetts: What a joke...

Long story short Ordered a fridge for my tenant as hers had stopped working and was promised a delivery date 5 days out. The night before received a call that it would be an additional 7 days, unacceptable given the old one was not working...when I called Sears totally insulted me on two occassions trying to "buy me off" by offering coupons and gift certificates off future purchases...the tenant did not have a working fridge, why on earth did they think I would accept coupons and leave her without a fridge??? Arrogance! I stopped in the local Sears store and the sales associate was very helpful, we cancelled that order and placed a new one with him and it was delivered in 2 days rather than 7!!! here we are 3 months later and still no credit given back on the credit card for the original purchase...3 MONTHS! There are many retailers out there, stay away from this unreputable company..its obvious Sears could care less about their customer and the overall Sears experience

Sears kept $38.00 of my money

Update by user Nov 21, 2013

Well just got off the phone with sears cooperate and spoke with Blu. Very helpful supposed to b mailing me a $25.00 gift card.

Original review posted by user Nov 21, 2013

I bought 2 pairs of Levi jeans for my 7 yr old son. I needed a bigger size, tags still on them. I payed $24.99 each but lost my receipt. I called and was told it was an even exchange so no problem. I got there and the jeans were now on sale for $15.99 so I had no prob paying the difference. The manager told me I would have to take the lowest price the jeans were EVER sold. The computer said $5.99!!! For Levi's. I asked when sears ever sold Levi's for $5.99. She said there was no way of knowing. I said the jeans r here now for $15.99 can't I just pay the difference? She rudely said no and have me a $12.00 gift card which I have now. So sears took $38.00 from me and I have no jeans for my son. I went to writs a review and sears says before u post this negative review to give them a chance to fix the problem. I left 3 emails and never heard from anyone. I am a single mom and just trying to buy clothes for my child. This is pathetic what this company does to their customers and I will never shop there again. I've contacted seal investigative people to c what they can do!

The Sears return policy specifically states that "REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES WILL NOT BE GIVEN WITHOUT RECEIPT." You should be happy that they even offered you the opportunity for an exchange.

As far as using the lowest price, this is to mitigate the risk of people buying a pair of jeans for $5.99 and then trying to return them to get more back than they paid originally. Without a receipt there is no way for the store to know how much you actually paid.

Listen William I said I'd pay the difference assh*** so because I lose the receipt gives them the right to keep $38.00 of my money? And don't forget *** the tags r still on them so they plan on putting those jeans right back on the shelf and selling them, learn to read!!

YOU lose the receipt and this is theiir fault? It is nice that they are taking care of you but ID!0Ts like you is one reasons retailers have to raise their prices. YOU make a mistake nad assume they have to pay for it.

@William

This is the future of Sears and the Kenmore brands-outlet stores and franchises that don't get the same training or have enough experience around to point things like different models for LP and natural gas.

Turn them into the Better Business Bureau to warn others. This IS the future of Sears.

Sears review in Boston, Massachusetts: Master Protection - no service

A week ago called for service because ac bought eleven months ago not working. Have medical condition, must have a/c, was told someone would be here within 48 hours as an "emergency call", but no repair number was given when I asked about it. No one ever showed up and no one has called. I went to the Sears website and the site ended my text call call before I finished texting the problem. Tried again. This time given an option to have someone call; I took it. Got a robo, no human, call saying someone would be here Friday morning, a full 8 days after the original call. I left a message for a real person to verify this and got no response. I have asked for protection plan refund or verification. No answer. I told them I would be calling Mass AG's office.

You purchased insurance for service but not timely or expediant service. You bought the agreement, that's all Sears cares about. They got your money. You actually did the worst as far as Sears is concerned, you actually used your service plan. Those plans or insurance are sold under the premise and hope that you wont use it. You cost Sears money especially since those optional extras are the only thing that Sears knows how to make money on.

I would make sure you get the agreement extended for your time out of service or get a pro rated credit for your time out of service. Also find out if they were sending out a Sears service tech, A&E Factory service, a contractor and/or manufacturer technician. In the end Sears is responsible.

Also report Sears to the local better business bureau.

Good Luck
