In January 2011, we purchased a big screen tv. we were planning on paying cash, but upon check-out, the cashier informed us that they were offering no interest for 12 months.
Of course, we signed up. I really never checked by bill for interest charges, because my mother suffered a severe stroke and has been in the nursing home since. Each month, I would just make the minimum payment. Later on, I noticed interest being charged, but thought they charged the interest and when you paid it off before the 1 year, the interest would be taken off.
My husband called for the payoff amount and was told that the transaction was not listed as no interest for 1 year. I found the flyer, and sent it to Sears with my complaint. Its not my fault that the employee didnt key it in as a promotional offer.
Even with the copy of the ad showing that they were offering no interest during the week I purchased the tV, Sears refuses to honor their committment. I will never shop at sears again.
