Regards the response from SEARS below. They have and will do nothing about my problem except offer me a 25% discount to purchase new doors to the tune of over $900.00! This seems to be a ploy to make people think they are going to really help people, not true. There attitude was very much one of not taking any responsibility to help and saying it is all my problem.

Since I put this on the web, I found additional information. One in particular regards to the problem of rust with Sears appliances where they lost a lawsuit in the State of California for the issue of falsely claiming an appliance was Stainless Steel when it was not and consequent rusting. Sadly there were many, many cases of rusting stainless on appliances such as dishwashers, refrigerators, stoves, the list goes on.

I filed a letter with the State of Oregon Attorney Generals consumer protection dept. They are keeping track of my complaint and looking for others in the State of Oregon to file with them regards to any rust on appliances purchased through Sears.

I have one last recourse and will be pursuing this against both Sears and Samsung. I would encourage anyone having similar problems as I have to contact their State Attorney Generals office to file a complaint with them. If enough complaints are registered, Sears will be held accountable.

I intend to get rid of the new Samsung and spend the money on something that is of quality and works. No more products or services through Sears!

As for me, as I said before, I am changing who I purchase appliances from and what I purchase. After the response I got from Sears, I did NOT replace my dishwasher which just broke down from them as I have in years past. I just bought a REAL stainless steel, Meile Dishwasher from BASCO in Portland and am very very happy with it. After 40 years, I will never go back to Sears again! I am done with their call center in Brazil, their rerouting my calls when I try to reach my local store and their "regulatory" complaint specialists who give you nothing but irrelevant run around!

We have had our second Stainless Samsung from Sears barely 14 months when it started showing signs of rust. The Sears tech who saw this said this should NOT be happening and said that the care I have been given my refrigerator was the proper.

I contacted Sears who said this is not covered under warranty. When I tried to point out the logic that properly cared for Stainless does NOT rust, and that this was NOT stainless, they said I could have a $75 gift card and be happy with that! I was not able to get any cooperation out of Sears so I contacted the BBB.Sears response was that Stainless will rust from steel contaiminates, or caustic chemcicals and in either case they would not help. They told me this was Stainless and it is clearly not!

I say this is false advertising and am rejecting their letter to BBB for further action! I am one of hundreds of cases I have read about online that have suffered rust within a short period of time. After 40 years of buying appliances from Sears, I am finished as I no longer trust ANYTHING they say. They do NOT stand behind the products they sell and recommend you shop elsewhere!

Ii read the review sent in January 2013 on the 3 year old dishwasher and Sears Media outreach saying they would help you. DID they?

Monetary Loss: $2200.

Location: Portland, Oregon

My Sears microwave and dishwasher have showed rusting signs after 10 months. After many complaints, Sears did finally address and fix the microwave door. They would not do anything with the dishwasher.

Bar Keeper's Friend Liquid did help remove dome of the rust stains.

I built my home in 2000

I've seen refrigerators 40 years old with no rust

I bought what I thought to be the best and I've noticed mine rusting in the last 2 years but has gotten progressively worse in the last year.

What have you done to correct the problem and what have you or are you doing to help the customers that purchased from you a bad product.

Hi,

Mine is brand new and it started showing rust within the first month! I'm 100% sure this is not stainless steel but some cheap fake "look a like", since before I owned another stainless steel for years, and it never had this problem.

The only reason I don't own it and bought a new one was because I moved. This is absolutely a fraudulent practice.

Liz, I have already had a written response from your "regulatory" complaint Specialist in Chicago through the BBB. Sears intends to do nothing reasonable about my problem.

I do not considering trying to sell me parts to replace this to be a responsible response. I have fully run the gambit of attempting to work amicably with Sears to no avail. After numerous calls, speaking with supervisors, numerous trips to the local store, and a very cavalier response from your CS manager, I am done wasting my time with you all.

I call BS on this post!
