We always request a specific tech. The first time we requested this tech and made it clear we wanted no other.
Someone else showed up and we refused his services. He told us the tech we wanted was out sick. Shortly after, we got a call from our requested tech saying he wasn't ill and he showed up to clean our carpets later that day. The 2d time we called Sears and requested our same tech, the appt was made and a different tech called to confirm.
We cancelled and then we were told our tech was out on medical leave. We waited for him to return 1.5 months - today we got a call from a different tech. We said no, we wanted the tech we had specifically requested and no other.
