Sears in Lake Charles, Louisiana - Washing Machine Sounds Like....a rock tumbler!

Complaint sent to Sears below. To whom it may concern: My parents purchased a washer & dryer for me as a house warming present for my first home. You would think that this would be a good thing; however, I have had nothing but issues with this washer purchased from your Lake Charles, LA (70601) store. This product is less than a year old and has an extended warranty. However, despite numerous service visits to my house, numerous calls to the Sears warranty number, speaking with basically every department, spending hours on the phone, replacing parts, having four service calls, missing time at work, the service team scratching wall and me cleaning up after the service staff including disposal of my own outer drum, my washer now sounds like a freaking rock tumbler and is peeling the plastic off of one of the drums causing plastic to be washed with my business attire and increasing the potential for damage to my clothes not to mention it smells like burning plastic. How can I get a resolution to an issue that was incurred at no fault of my own without having to continue to leave my place of work in order to have the lemon of a product that my parents were sold evaluated?!?!? See further details below. I will be posting this on message boards and every complaint department I can find until a resolution is reached. Purchased Washer with extended warranty 8/30/14. Small leaks were noticed but thought the problem would go away. Problem only got worse. Washer Repair Visits Prior to 3/26/15 - Leaking Washer 3/26/15– Diagnosis of what was thought to be a leaking gasket. 4/2/15– Returned to replace gasket and discovered that there were holes in the outer drum. Ordered replacement drum and replaced gasket. 4/14/15 – Returned to replace drum but could not remove a bolt that had to be removed in order to replace. All Sears said was that the bolt had to come off. Discontinued use of washer. 4/22/15 – Brought another tech for assistance. Finally removed bolt and replaced drum. After 4/22/15 – Washing machine sounds like a rock tumbler. Outer drum grinding against inner drum causing shavings of plastic to fall into clothes. Discontinued use of washer again. 5/14/15 – Contacted Sears Warranty service again, and they scheduled yet another appointment for assessment of the washer due to the peeling off of plastic shavings in my clothes and a new burnt plastic smell. • Wall scratched due to multiple visits and the leaning of the washer against the wall of my laundry room.

Sears in Leesburg, Virginia - Carpet Cleaning what a hassle!!!!!!!!!

I had many options to get the carpet cleaned. I specifically picked Sears due to its reputation and I love Sears brand. However, the level of service I received unfortunately was way under par. Here are the reason - a) I had to called 5 times to get my appointment setup. They did not seem to get the correct information. First time I did not even get a call or email confirmation. b) Level of service was par for following reasons: i) There are spots before and after cleaning that my wife and I cleaned using warm water and towel ii) After the service our carpet is stiff and hard vs. soft. Later, sears setup a follow up appointment to address my concerns. And here is what happened. a) Staff member showed up and was rude and unhappy b) Did not do any cleaning and left the premises. I am rather frustrated and disappointed with the experience.

Sears in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - SPOTTY GROUT RESULTS

Sears tile and grout cleaning has created aggravation and a pricy cost to say the least. The first time cleaning the tile and grout, it remained spotty, they returned to clean again, still wet, I was told, it will dry and be cleaner. Asking if this does correct the problem, I was told to go out and buy a marker to run down the grout lines for a cleaner look! Paying 160.00, I certainly am not cleaning the grout! What has happened to the professionalism at Sears. NEVER will they step in to my house again, and, I will extend my views regarding this matter to the public in many ways. Ripped off, I should have known better. Calling customer service today, asking to speak to a manager, the gal would NOT provide me with a name and number, she is addressing the problem for the second time. What are they hiding???

Sears does not have good service. I will never call them again for any home issues such as the one you have just described.

Your experience sounds pretty typical of Sears to me.

Sorry you had to go through that. I believe they contract all of their services out to other companies.

Sears Carpet Cleaning Horrible Service

I had my carpets cleaned by Sears. Of course they talked me into an upgrade and my bill was almost 300. They moved furniture out of rooms and did not put it back, they randomly put plastic protectors under my wood furniture, at least half of the furniture was sitting on a wet carpet. They left my entire tile entryway all wet, it took three towels for me to clean up the water. The carpet cleaning was questionable, I do not think they did the pet enzyme or even cleaned my carpets correctly, I was in my office working. How did they do 6 rooms, stairs and hallway in 35 minutes and use the enzyme cleaner and then also use the upgraded service (not the wand)???? Then when I called their service manager, of course the technicians denied everything and he said that his lead technician was one of their best and basically said I was not telling the truth. I will never use their service again-EVER!

Did they always use truck mounted equipment or do they use a portable unit without the customer knowing. If you witnessed them using a portable machine and not a truck mount go to you State Attorney online complaint and file a complaint against them.

You should all take your complaint to the Attorney General of your state. Did they use a truck mount or did they use a portable cleaner on wheels. If they did not use a truck mount you absolutely need to go online and complain, no matter how long ago this happened.

Sears in Tampa, Florida - Ruined sofa cushion

The resolution to my cushion problem was not satisfactory at all. Despite the involvment of Sears HC the only thing the Sears office in Tampa would do is return the $79.95 I paid for the cleaning.

She (Linda) kept insisting that their was previous damage to the cushion. Mind you that is with no marks, damages or stains indicated on the form their tecnhician filled out prior to the cleaning.

My suggestion would be to never use them. Not worth the aggravation.

On 3-16-12 I had Sears come to clean a couch and 4 cushions that had never been cleaned before. The only reason we had them come was because our infant grandson had spit up milk on the right hand arm of the couch. The gentleman who did the job rested the 2 back cushions on the brown muslin fabric lining the couch which left a stain on those cushions. Sears attempted to clean the cushion a 2nd time but this was unsuccessful. Sears asked to have the cushion in their shop so they could work on it. Initially they asked if I would let them take all 4 cushions (there was a slight stain on the other cushion which was also left on the brown muslin but that one wasn't as noticeable). I agreed but when the young man called that he was coming for my cushion I told him he was supposed to take all 4. He said no so I immediately called Linda (the mgr at Sears Tampa) and she said he was to observe the others. The young man wasn't in my home for more than 1 minute and he had no interest in looking at my other cushions. I insisted he look to establish that they were like new, etc. After 2 days or so Linda called to tell me her techs said that something had been spilled on the back of the cushion. I again reiterated that this was the back of the cushion, that nothing had ever been spilled on it and the couch is barely sat on. I also pointed out that her own people never indicated there was anything wrong with my cushions. After a week she sent back a wrinkled, stretched cushion whose color is off from the other 3., It is not tight like the others and doesn't fit well at all. My perfect couch now has 3 cushions which look brand new and one that looks like they put it through a washing machine 10 times. Despite phone calls to the Tampa office (I am told she is on a conference call repeatedly) and calling Sears Corporate customer Service (they only call Tampa and are told she will call them back)nothing is being done. Agreeing with this posters comments. Avoid Sears air duct cleaning at all costs.

Their customer service is the worst I've ever encountered. It's complete disorganization to actually get to the appointment. Then, once the appointment actually happens, they will *** you into purchasing additional services (my $200 duct cleaning went up to over $800 for services that the technician claimed "had to be performed to complete the cleaning"). Turns out the "essential" additional services include the technician watering down my air conditioning unit with my garden hose...then leaving it in a heap on my deck.

The team that came into my house was also messy and unprofessional...leaving debris tracked throughout my home and dirty finger prints around the vents.

After trying to call customer service to have my concerns addressed, I have been bounced around from one service agent to another for over 3 WEEKS, with promises that someone who has decision making power will call me back. I'm frustrated that I was deceived by Sears and now am paying for it, but do yourself a favor and DO NOT hire Sears!!!!
