Don't get an extended warranty from Sears

I have a Master Protection Agreement on my Toshiba LCD TV which expires 12/13/2019. I have been trying since 11/4/2019 to schedule an annual maintenance checkup. I have called several times on this, but still have not received one call back to set up an appointment.

Agree. I suspect they reduced technicians, or the area they cover, due to the bankruptcy. We live in a rural area with a thin population.

Omg sounds exactly like how I was treaated! I have 1+ yr old kenmore fridge that the ice maker stopped working.

But then I open freezer and everything was thawed! Then fridge portion died next day. Long story short, 2 Weeks later tech came out. I had unplanned when we went out of state few days (for extra safety) plugged back in after.

Fridge had started running just day or so before he came out. I call for food reimbursement and they tell me i can NOT GET REIMBURSEMENT BECAUSE TECH SAID I UNPLUGGED FRIDGE! AFTER IT DIED!!! THey think I just up an unplugged my fridge!

Are you kidding me!? What a scam. Blame the customer.

Just like you got blamed! I’ve never been so angry in my life!!

I have and continue to have problems with the refrigerator I purchased from Seare (Kenmore) I also purchased an extended warranty. Ice maker replaced on 12-15-2016 Problem with ice maker again, technician checked 1-12-17 order ice maker Refrigerator door replaced 1-24-17; ice not dispensing Replaced ice maker 2-1-17 ice not dispensing Refrigerator out of service from 6-6-18 through 6-21-18 food spoiled Appointment to install new ice maker 12-10-18, no show, called after 1:30 was assured that a technician would be at my home before 5:00. Kenmore in Kenmore, New York - Shame on Sears-

We bought a Kenmore Elite French Door/Bottom Freezer September 2015. We also bought the Master Protection Plan (waste of money). First the ice maker quit. NOW the ENTIRE refrigerator won't work. Sears will NOT come out and fix it until over 2 weeks from now. I cannot go that long without a frig. I told them it was an emergency. We called an independent repairman who said the COMPRESSOR/SEALED SYSTEM had failed and the cost would be at least $600 for the part plus labor. And, we know the part will take time to get. Sears said they would only cover $300 of the cost. The warranty on the compressor is for 5 years so why won't they cover the total cost? What about the protection plan? So we are going to have to swallow the loss which is substantial and buy a new frig. (Its a plain jane.) DO NOT ever buy from Sears and never buy their warranty plans. Awful people. Shame on them. Its not the same company it used to be and the sooner it dies, the better.

Finally i got my money back thank God but i had to go through better Business Bureau. They where the ones that contact Sears and finally today i got a call from Sears letting me know that i will receive my full refund.
