Chose to buy washer/dryer at Sears because of their price matching and an additional 15% off sale. I was told to wait 30 days for processing. Purchase was Nov 26th, 2008.

At 30 days I called to check the status. I was told they were running behind, but it would be processed the following week. At the end of that week, I was told they were still behind and it would be the following week.

Now 60 days from purchase I am being told the store has not confirmed that I did not return the items, so my processing is being delayed once more.

My kitchen if completely full of appliances bought from Sears, I have had problems every time with getting rebates promised, but they have always come through in the end after several complaint emails and phone calls. It seems our economy has changed their priorities. They now are more concerned with keeping the money promised. Do yourself a favor and don't fall for Sears Rebate sales anymore. Your time and efforts in making them live up to what you are told on the sales floor are worth more than you will ever get back from them.

Bottom line they DO NOT live up to what the salesman will tell you to get the sale.

Shop elsewhere.

Bought over $3500. worth of appliances.

Promised two $75.00 rebates. That was in August of 2009. Still nothing from Sears as of July 2010. I tried to send them an email but, of course, would not SEND from their website.

Never again. I heard stories of them going out of business and I hope there is some truth to the rumor.

I am experiencing the same problem! I was first told I would get rebate in $ - that way I could turn around and pay on my delivery charge $170 and install (that was what the rebate was for) then I was told it would be in a prepaid Visa card - o.k.

that would be fine - then I was told I'd have to wait 3 months before it would be processed - o.k. that would be March, now it is beginning of June and my rabate status is "in process" It's been in process for over a month! I too have bought Sears products for over 20 years!

I'm really disappointed at their shotty business practice! :(
