We once used Sears for a home appliance repair. Since that went well we called them again when our refrigerator had something wrong.
First the woman that we spoke with tried to sell us a home service plan, which we declined. Then she explained there would be a $95 fee for the technician to come out, and that would be apart from the repair cost. We agreed to that.
The window for the tech to arrive was from 8-12. He arrived at 1:00. After looking at the refrigerator (not a Sears brand) he told us he knew what the problem was, however, he was not allowed to fix it since we are not on their service plan. What?!
So, we paid a $95 fee for him to come out but not do anything. My husband took time off from work to be here for the tech and the fridge is still not working.
This is a company that is totally lacking the values of customer service. I will never use Sears, and I will be sure people know just what to expect if they call Sears for home repair service.
