We purchased a new Kenmore stackable washer/dryer from the Sears store in Ventura, CA. We asked to have everything includied in the order, including all accessories (venting, stacking kit, etc) and arranged for delivery since we were opening a new Sears account to get the appliances.

The machines were delivered, but no stacking kit. A subsequent installation was required to be set up. The 2nd team came, added the stacking kit, but then stated we had the wrong type of venting, requireding flexible, fireproof venting and aluminum tape. They arrived early Saturday morning, without a prior phone call.

We quickly took the incorrect venting back to the local store and complained to the department manager sinc ethe 1st rteam had all the information for the subsequent installation visit. The dept manage did his best song and dance, apologize and arranged (with witnesses while he called the delivery crew) that they would be back the same day to complete the job. They never showed and never called.. We have had to take time away from work at least twice to get this done.

The 2nd team wanted to try to convince us that we could do the new venting and complete the installation ourselves, but were quickly reminded that installation had already been paid for and was expected to be completed by them. When they didn't show as expected, we again called the local store, and were again provided lip service. Sears is notoriously poor in this performance area, and if complete and total satisfaction can not be provided, they'll have to make another trip to our house to take the product back. Going forward, we wilkl NEVER buy another product/service from Sears.

Routinely ridiculously poor. No wonder they are doing so poorly that they are closing stores!

* and use what was there, and maybe have a fire is what it was supposed to say....I know if I needed laundry done, and most of the stuff was done, it just seems like less of a hassle to take a few mins and finish it up

Why wouldn't you have taken the 5 mins and hooked up dryer vent?? I just don't understand some people...things happen, and 3 trips out to 1 persons home is costing way more money to them, then you paid.

You are lucky the crew didn't just keep their mouth shut and used why we there and my be have a fire....and it seems like 97 percent of it was installed. If I wanted it done, me for myself, I'd take the 5 mins and hook up vent to dryer to the wall, scoot dryer back, and be done with the whole thing

I am still too angry to make a lengthy comment, but my microwave/range hood has now been on my kitchen floor, in the box, for i month while I wait for install. I have talked to many managers?, I believe 120 phone calls.

....and another thing...........Sears has all their tools MADE IN CHINA now, but conveniently left the huge "MADE IN USA" stamp on the made in china tools and made no nevermind to tell the consumer. They're getting their butts sued off right now in a class action law suit out of Orange County, Ca.

Will never order something from Sears Again!!!! Ordered a fridge to be delivered today.

They did not show so I called them only to find out they have rescheduled the delivery for a month down the road. I have rotting food. No fridge! I am a single mom.

First they told me the computer rescheduled the delivery due to back orders. Now they say my original fridge was damaged.

They are trying to make it sound like they are doing me a big favour by uping the delivery date to one week from now or maybe they can get me a fridge sooner if I buy a more expensive one. Meanwhile I have lost a few hundred dollars worth of food, a day off for having it delivered and need to find a replacement fridge fast.

My two year old chain saw started leaking Bar Oil all over the place. Knowing chain saws often have problems, I bought the 3 year protection plan, I was thinking I was all set!

I went back to Sears with the faulty saw only to be told that they would have to 'send it away to be repaired', and that it 'would take at LEAST a month to hear back'!

THEY ACTUALLY SUGGETSED I TAKE IT TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP if I wanted it quicker (at my own expense).

That's complete BS. A month??? What a waste of money after buying poorly constructed equipment!

I feel ripped off twice...

Never again, I'll take my chances with Home Depot...

Sears customer service sucks. Over the winter my front load washer needed service.

It took 4 different repair men to ultimately repair it and I was without a working washing machine for 7 weeks. Of course I got no break on the repair price even though it took them almost 2 months to repair it. Sears gave me a $50 gift card. That didn't even begin to cover my laundromat costs never mind the irritation of having no washing machine for two months and endless waiting for the repair men.

That was six months ago. Now it's broken again. I told Sears I wanted them to waive the $75 service call fee as it's the least they could do after the dismal recent experience. They informed me that they will make no more "concessions" to me and after going back and forth with them several times I ultimately did what I should have done six months ago.

I went out and bought a new washer from a reputable dealer. Of course I was more interested in the repair policy (next day) than the features of the new machine. I will never spend another penny at Sears again.

Absolutely pathetic. I am so glad to be rid of this awful company.

I agree. I have two Kenmore Elite kitchen appliances that failed in the first year.

The toaster oven Sears replaced because of the 5 year warranty. I did have to wait two weeks though... However, the new replacement sounds like a bearing is going to seize in the fan.

The convection/microwave oven was not covered because the 5 year warranty does not cover a burned out bulb. Sears sold me a bulb, that I had to install (as in dismantle the microwave, not just screw into a socket) myself for $30.

Sears lost a customer this time. Ever since getting in bed with Kmart, they've been nothing but ***. That's a shame. The last Kenmore I bought lasted 26 years.

I too purchased a refrigerator from SEARS. Worst experience ever.

We waited 10 years to buy an new refrigerator so I went online to pick one out, put it in my cart, and then we drove to sears to look at the actual model. Came back home and bought the color and model I wanted. I always print out all the specifics for my records.

We stayed home to receive it and the delivery truck parked out on the street. I felt that there must be something sneaky going on so I went out to the street where they were tearing off the cardboard, plastic wrap, and styrofoam packaging.

Well I could see immediately it was not the color I specified, they brought the wrong color refrigerator. I showed the driver my print out of the color choice and refused deliver. He then put me in touch with some supervisor in delivery where I was assured that they would send the correct color one on Saturday. The delivery folks left in a pissed off huff and a wake of debris from the box.

Well since then I have had 11 calls and 4 emails notifying me that they are cancelling my order and that it will be 7-8 days before my $1,800.00 is credited back. I called customer service several times to get this resolved but they are located in another remote part of the earth and cannot read or comprehend simple requests. They could care less if they sell anything.

Sears Holdings Corporation could care less if you are a satisfied customer. The customer service is non existent or sloppy.

Buying a major appliance is very expensive especially in these times. Buying should be an easy, fun and pleasant experience not a twisted freak show.

Go to *** I will never buy another thing from SEARS or KMart. :(

Tried buying a Whirlpool range from the Sears Outlet site twice, only to be told it was out of stock (however the actual store stated they had the product. Go figure).

Called the store directly, only to be told they don't take any credit card but Sears cards over the phone. Hmmmm... my Bank of America card is accepted in 10,000 other places, just not at Sears. Finally had once sent from a Sears site 175 miles from my home, but it arrived hopelessly damaged & was promptly returned.

THAT'S when the troubles began. I should have just quit trying to buy from Sears after the first two failed attempts. Almost two weeks after the product was refused, and STILL no refund --- never mind that it's been a month since it was ordered and my card originally charged. Multiple calls to the Sears "Helpline" indicated the refund had been processed, when in fact it never had been.

Calls to speak to a manager are ignored, and when I called to get the number for the District Manager for this area, I was told by multiple managers they didn't have a number -- just an email address!

Now, is this ANY way to run a company? I'll never purchase anything from any Sears affiliated store again, and hope they go the way of the Dodo bird sooner than later.

It is interesting that I have had an on going problem with an appliance range that I purchased from a Sears store, and have taken my gripes online to their Facebook page to (very vocally) state my displeasure at the whole poorly executed situation, and Sears saw fit to eliminate me from their comments. Hmmmm.... if you can't stand the heat, Sears, don't sell inferior kitchen appliances!

They simply can not compete and customer service sucks. I have ordered from Amazon, Traget and Walmart and never had a problem.

I found an item on the sears site that was competitively price so, I gave them a chance. When I called to order the item, I asked and was told it was in stock, I would get a tracking number and I should have in three days .. as soon as I placed the order, clicking on it to check status showed three week delivery date .. I called customer service and was told they would look into it.

got a note saying, it should be there in three days, that would be today. So today, I get a note saying the order is cancelled and the item is out of stock; sure enough I check on line and it does show in stock. OK, I write a reply to my cancellation and tell them I see it instock online and they should fill the order. I get a lame response ..

enough ...

I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM SEARS AGAIN!!!!!!

PERIOD!!!!!! Sears deserves to go out of business for they way it treats it's customers ..

sears sucks soo bad, my stainless steel grill lasted 2 years before rusting out. Real Stainless steel wont rust through. Sears sucks!

I love how the "Social Media Moderator" for Sears shows up here trying to save face for this company. I paid extra to have guaranteed delivery on a certain date, and they didn't show up.

I had to stay on the phone for over an hour to get it straight, they hung up on me twice, made me call 5 different numbers, gave me #'s that lock you in voice jail with no exit, etc. Sears sucks.

Sears really does suck. I have purchased many items in the past - refrigerator, lawn mowers, tractor, clothes, etc, etc.

I bought a dishwasher online on 1/8/12. I waited twice to have it delivered, nobody called or showed up. Finally I called them totally ticked that I wasted my time out from work for a delivery. They promised me a stinking gift card (never showed up) and they suggested I have my credit card recharged to have the dishwasher sent Sears internal since they could not seem to get it delivered.

They finally did deliver it - I continued to receive calls for two weeks that they would deliver it after it was delivered! Three of the installation guys never showed up. Three more came out and the first said he could not do the install because the plumbing was not done right and left - Sears did the last install!

The second said Sears installation sucks and gave me the number of another installer and told me to get a credit from Sears, the third guy found a different problem and said he would charge $250 and be back Monday - never showed! Sears you do suck, I will never buy another thing there again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
