Sears extended warrenty = empty promises

Purchased a Sears elite dishwasher, after 6 months it started to leak from a control valve and caused water damage in our basement. I phoned Sears, they said it would be an emergency priority call and that a technician would be out to repair it within 48 hours. After 48 hours I called again, they said they would make it a 911 emergency priority. I called again after 6 days. It has now been 9 days and still no contact, or attempt at contact from them has been made. Sears home service is an extremely expensive list of empty promises.

I would turn Sears into the local Better Business Beauru, then the state and then feds turning them into the Federal Trade Commission.

They're not honoring their contract in a reasonable amount of time. I'd pressure them for refund then see what they do.

although i think sears has the best warranty program out there, I think they definitely have a "read between the lines" program. I've had issues with my washer since day one, and that was almost 4 years ago.

I've called service multiple times every year, and at this point they've rebuilt the whole washer. I figured after the first few calls they'd replace the washer, but the problem is that they won't replace it unless you've had more than 3 service calls regarding the same problem in 1 year and after that it's up to their discretion. What a bunch of ***.

Bottom line is that no matter how great their response time is, they really won't back up their products with a replacement. They'll just keep "fixing" it until you decide to purchase a new product.

Sears refrigerator repair ripoff

Called Sears repair because water was coming out the back of refrigerator and ice maker was not working. Sears serviceman quoted $200 to repair. He then put some hot water on the supply line and declared it fixed. He was in the house a total of 15 minutes. Some hourly rate. On top of that, it was broken again two hours later. They wouldn't come back for three days so my wife fixed it herself with a hair dryer in two minutes. I will not shop at Sears again. Calls to supervisors were basically answered with "tough luck sucker"

Sears in Dallas, Texas - Mad as ***

I purchased a washer dryer from Sears. It is still under warranty. When I finally got a repair person here, he didn't know whether the problem was a pump or a clogged drain hose. I have my units stacked and he did not want to pull them out to look. He said the parts would take 3-5 days to arrive. So, I called customer solutions who booked me for the following week and just told me to call if the parts did not arrive. Well the pump came, but the hose did not. I called on my scheduled day of service and low and behold, I was not on the schedule. They told me they could not come out and do half a job since the hose did not come. I told them I would go buy a hose, but nooooo, they have to wait for their part? IT's a freakin hose! I was told their is nobody above customer solutions and she hung up on me because I was so angry. I will never buy from Sears again.

Sears repair and customer service

It is amazing that they offer a 4 hour window and then don't show up for the repair service: They are certainly a lot more efficient selling product insurance on the phone for appliance that always seems to break within 6 weeks of the initial guarantee running out! I have been waiting for 5 hours; have called customer service 3 times to be told that all they can do is send a text to the repir company to contact the customer but have no control over the repair service: A big black hole of information that is then covered by stating that the 4 hr window is only an estimate and why am I calling when he is only 30 mins late? After questioning the process I got transferred to another customer service rep who was able to see that I was customer #11 and that the repair guy was only on number 6. Why the first 3 sears customer service guys could noy give me that information is strange. At what point do they realise that they overbooked? When do they reach out to the customers who have been waiting for 4+ hours to let them know? Why do they make you feel like it is your fault and just keep waiting? All I got from sears reps was it is not our fault, you should keep waiting and hopefully he should get to you by the end of the day or reschedule. But of course cannot guarantee he will show up next time either! what part of customer service am I missing here. This is also not the first time I have had a similiar experience unfortunately I have several sears appliances that have all had issues (which explains the constant junk mail from sears for extending warranties). I cannot recommend sears for their stoves or refridgerators, their customer service or their repair service. regards, extremely frustrated (ex) customer

I bought a Kenmore refrigerator 5 years ago for $1200.00 and this last sunday I had to buy another refrigerator. This time it cost me $ 1100.00. The man who picked up the old one, said get a repair agreement for the new one. They are not meant to last over 5 years now, not U.S. made. The refrigerator before I had for 20 years- Kenmore. This isn't just Sears . It's called planned obsolesence. Design them to ware out in 3-5 years ,

I hate to say it even though you paid for the features on your refridgerator the less features on an appliance the better. Simple math - the less that can go wrong. Most appliances today are over accessorized and built for style and appearance and not longevity or durability.

I don't know about the service agreement. Sometimes it's just better to pay the repairs as they come and put those service contract dollars in the bank.

Some of the things you can do is make sure the rear of refridgerator is well ventilated. If you have access to the commpressor coils vacum them once in a while. Make sure any air filters are kept clean. All this helps make for better air flow which helps keep things cooler. Heat is the number one enemy of your food and fridge.

Make sure the unit is on a protected circut and or a surge protector if possible-power surges AND outages can mess with the electronics and compressor on a fridge.

Sears Ceo Lewis is a liar.

I purchase a whirlpool dishwasher fro Sears in March of 2008. August the 6Th it went out August 8Th Sears repair tech came out and said that he suggest that they put a new one in because it cost more to fix it than a brand new one would cost.Make a long story short I am loosing 800.00 in rental income on my condo this weekend due to dishwasher not working.The reason I said Lewis is a lair is he states 100% satisfaction and you are only as good as your boss is.Thank you very much
