Sears in Houston, Texas - Would not repair washer w/o model number

I have had a service agreement with Sears since 2003. When my dishwasher broke Sears said he was not there problem... so I bought a new one. Now my washer broke and they said they could not find the model number and left and refused to worked on the washer. It is odd since they have worked on it two years ago. Dont ever buy an appliance from Sears and never, never buy a service agreement. I hope to start a movement against Sears so that they dont ever take advantage of another person. All persons with similar complaints post and unite.

Sears appliance repair service is terrible

I am a sears service technician and I want to let the world know how horrible this company is. Each day we get 12-15 calls to complete while driving sometimes 200 miles. Sears knows that some customers will not get service, yet they continue to overwork their technicians which results in poor morale and poor customer service. No one wants to work for this company and they cannot find technicians who will work for them (Unit 8107) in Houston. This company is the pits and I advise all customers never to use them. They use pressure tactics to pressure their technicians to sell products which are 4 times more expensive than what can be purchased at the local Wal-mart, and they expect us to take all kinds of heat from the customer who is upset before we arrive because we have rescheduled them 3 times, 2 weeks to order part, and because we could not meet the 8-12 time frame along with the other 8 customers that were promised 8-12. I would never use this company they are overpriced and the technicians are very unhappy about working for this company.

Sears poor service

In December our washer broke. I called Sears to schedule repair. It took them over two weeks to get here and fix it. I was told the warranty purchase was a good deal and if they could not fix it if it broke again, I could get the cost of warranty put toward a new washer. The washer worked for a couple of months and I called again for them to come and fix it. It worked for a couple of weeks and I rescheduled yet another repair scheduled for May 6th. We went out of town for a child's event and paid someone to be at our home during the repair. SEARS called to say they could not come between 7-11 am and the person we hired was scheduled to leave at 11:00. I called and told SEARS this and they still did not come between the time they scheduled. I asked for the warranty to got towards a new washer and I was told they could not do that. ONLY SEARS CAN SAY when they will refund the warranty. This means that they could come once a month for the entire year and still not refund the warranty cost. What a horrible scam. I'll never purchase through SEARS again. Sincere, Sally Bart

I am not a customer support person like Ms. Laura here, but I do work for Sears and know exactly what the protection agreement covers (and how it can be exploited). I agree it sucks they have to keep coming out, but after the fourth time in a year they replace it, as stated in your contract. People on the 800 numbers have probably been employed there for less than a week, as all call centers, and don't really know what the contract covers (I have to deal with them daily), but the best way to deal with them is to have your documentation in hand so you can prove you're right and be firm but respectful. That's the best honest advice I can give for your current situation.

Or give Laura a holler as she is not a scammer (this is something Sears does regularly) and she does have a little more authority to make things happen for you.

But next time shop at a Sears Home Appliance Showroom! We take care of service calls for you there and don't take their BS. Plus there's free cookies and drinks and stuff. All around a much better experience than the malls or online.

Sears repair service

I had called Sears for the repair of a dishwasher. Appointment was set with a 4 hour window with the promise of a call 1 day prior to repair. This call was never made, but when I called on the repair day I was told that the technician would be there at the end of the scheduled window. 1 hour late into this the technician called to say he would be there 2 hours later approaching 8 pm, which we declined. He said he would be there the next day between 10-2. When he was not there at 3 pm I called Sears to hear that nothing was scheduled at all and that I had to wait until the weekend, hoping someone will turn up. I cannot recommend this type of service and will definitely not use a company again who has no consideration for other peoples time. Fortunately there are plenty of companies who still render a good service. Use those please!

Sears service scam

Sears offered a certain repair on a leaking dishwashers on their website. When the Tech came by he inspected the leak, he then attempted to order a new part. After talking to his manager, he then advised me they no longer make those types of repairs, calling it part of the house plumbing. It was the water supply line that connected to the dishwasher (which is part of the dishwasher). Sears then charged me $129 for the service call, even though they misrepresented their service. I contacted customer service, they were not helpful and were very defensive. Dont waste your money at Sears.

Sears Service

Purchase a Kenmore refrig model 6093. The new refrig uses more power than the 20 year old I replaced. It runs all the time and is very noisy, plus the electric compressor creates static noise on the AM radio. Call Sears, you get some overseas answering service. Was on the phone for hour and got no help. Finally called the local Sears store where I picked it up at. Since I was an internet order they cannot help me. Call Sears warranty and repair, the service tech cannot fix. This the current Kenmore designs. Another American made piece of ***.

Sears repair ripoff

Had a rattle in my 2 year old front load Kenmore washer. Called the repair center. Told me that the service charge was $65 to show up and then they would give me an estimate on the repair. Then it was up to me to accept or deny repairs. Found an chapstick tube inside the front flap. They charged me $126, to lift it out and hand it to me. I called and complained and that basically told me tough, thats was the service guy said and it was final. I challenged and all CS would do is give me the CEO's address. Pretty bad if you ask me!!!
